These headphones look to have the expected Sony quality right out of the box. I was surprised that they included two 3.5mm adapters and this is welcome feature for the quality it provides. The sound quality works great in first person shooter games where hearing the enemy first gives the advantage. There are other headphones with better quality sound, but not at this price point. the INZONE software gives you control to tailor the sound to your like. Another huge benefit is the lightweight and comfort of the ear cuffs. They stay cool, and breathable, during long gaming sessions. They have the slight flexibility to form perfectly to your ears. They are not noise cancelling, but shield outside noise very well. The mic works well and easily muted by sliding to the up position. The length is just right to pic up your voice well and not get in the way too much. They are not the fanciest headphones but the curved design looks cool and the white color looks great. The cord length of 10 ft is plenty long enough and my biggest challenge is keeping all the extra hidden. I prefer having to manage the extra cord than not have enough for all the locations I will be using.

I didn’t think I would like this as much as I do. Previously I used a great wireless headset (via usb dongle) and Bluetooth to connect to PS5 and my phone at the same time, so I could hear the PS5 game *and* listen to music at the same time, but in order to do so, I would have to physically get up and plug the dongle in and out (or go into PS5 settings if it’s in and change the audio output to TV if I leave it in) – that’s all just a few extra steps, physically and/or settings changes, which if you’re short on time, takes away from gaming time.
The H3 wired simplifies everything – I don’t have to get anywhere near the PS5 console because all I have to do is plug this into the PS5 controller (or any other device such as my Nintendo Switch), and the headsets are always closer to me.
This has 3D spatial sound which is excellent when playing Fortnite (make sure to enable 3D audio in PS5 and also adjusting the 3D audio profile-if needed) – I was able to use the default as my ears set centered to the default settings. When enabled, you can hear all the sounds coming from the appropriate directions, which are extremely useful on fighting games.
The H3 doesn’t have Noise cancellation but it’s actually pretty good without it. I have another Sony wireless with noise cancellation and it’s superb and completely drowns out my a/c. My dual bluetooth/usb dongle that doesn’t have noise cancellation makes the a/c is pretty noticeable. The H3’s are in between the 2, but I quickly forget the a/c is even on w/the H3 because my ears are covered and the game sounds hide the loud a/c enough.
The headsets themselves are comfortable, which is always a worry especially if I’m gaming for a long time – and sometimes I find myself playing on ps5 for hours at a time (especially with pinball games).
There is a volume control on the left side and the boom mic goes up and down, but putting the mic up does not mute the mic (in comparison to my other headsets) and there is no mute button on the headset itself. When on the PS5, that’s not a problem, but when plugged into another device (such as the Nintendo Switch/PC), mute will have to be set on the device itself – minor inconvenience.
For the price of the H3 in comparison to the higher end model, the H3 is a great deal that provides great sounds and is comfortable to wear for a few hours at a time.

The Sony Inzone H3 is a great wired headset for gamers. They come packaged very nice, in a nice cloth-like bag which makes it seem a little more premium than they actually are. It’s always nice to see companies take these little extra steps to make the product feel nice. In the box is the headset and the detachable USB cord. The USB cord is a good length, while the 3.5mm headphone cord attached to the headphones themselves is a little short for my taste. But I guess the reasoning there is that if you are using the headphone jack, it is to connect to something that is not very far from you, such as a handheld system or a controller with a headphone port. The headphone cord is also noticeably thinner than the USB cord. Weird that they just didn’t use the same thickness for the entire thing. But all small issues so far. Overall, the headset has a very nice feel to it, like they are high quality and well-made. Wearing them is quite comfortable. I have rather large ears, and it’s hard to find headphones that fit well. While I would prefer just a tad bit more room, they were by no means uncomfortable. And if you have average size ears, I think you’ll be just fine. And the materials they use are very comfy. You get a nice padded headband, and the ear cups are very cushy and they use a breathable cloth rather than the fake leather material other sets use. I found this option to be much more comfy for long gaming sessions. My ears never got hot or otherwise uncomfortable. Performance-wise, this headset really shines. You get a nice, full, bassy sound. And the surround sound works really well when plugged into a PC. You can really hear footsteps and gunshots all around and what direction they are actually coming from. It’s a very nice effect and well implemented.
Overall I am very satisfied with the Sony Inzone H3 headset. It feels very well-made, is super comfortable, and has great performance. I would highly recommend.

The H3 headset has been pretty phenomenal and recently came in handy while on a work trip for a week. I love my bluetooth headset but this Inzone headset truly has a different approach to sound and is crisp in a way that my other headset is not.
For instance, I was in a first person view shooting game and at first I thought my dog was crunching on a chip or something but what I was hearing was footsteps nearby in the game. I had to remove the ear piece from my ear to figure out what the sound was. That had me sold in an instant.
I can’t control the activities around me while traveling and so being able to connect to my laptop with premium audio is a requirement. These headphones meet that requirement and more.
If you’re wondering about comfort I love the leatherette type ear cushions. Anything with cotton makes my head hurt and honestly makes me really hot. These I wore recently for about 5 hours straight and I didn’t have a headache and I did not feel like I had to take a break from my team.
So when you plug in the device with the auxiliary cable your sound isn’t as dynamic as it is when you use the connector with the USB. The USB connector wire that comes with the headset is what gives you that enhanced audio. You also gain the benefit of a longer cord so that you can sit comfortably on your sofa and not have to sit so close to the PS5.
At first I figured that the enhanced audio might only work for the gaming PC I have but feedback I received from my team online was that the audio was a lot better in my microphone when I switched between USB connections.
The design is true to the images you see online and the actual structure doesn’t feel like they went the economical route on the actual body of the headset. My one bit of feedback is that the volume dial could have been a little more enhanced. I feel like it is sensitive and so you have to be careful how much you wind the dial or you can go from the highest volume to mute in a jiffy.
Overall a great headset for someone who loves wired headset gaming who is a beginner or a pro. You gain comfort, you don’t compromise with having to charge the device, and you get the benefit of the full on experience of the 360 degree sound.

The Sony – INZONE H3 Wired Gaming Headset – White is an excellent product by Sony providing extended comfort for hours of gaming without sacrificing sound quality both for the ears and for the mic. The corded headset allows fast transmission of sound signals inbound and outbound for a responsive experience. The hardwired mic is set in a manner that allows for easy use with the ability to move it out of the way when not in use.
I found the INZONE headset to be a quality gaming addition for anyone serious about sound quality and responsiveness. Wearing these was comfortable for several hours without excessive heat and fatigue. I do find these to be similar in the sound quality to other high-end headsets in this price range, however, I found the construction to feel a bit cheap compared to others.
PROS
– Sony Quality and Design
– Sound quality is excellent
– Can wear these for hours
– Wired headset for fast transmission without lag
– Limited heat build up
CONS
– Construction could be better
Bubbles –
The headset did not plug and play, so just because it doesn’t automatically configure doesn’t make it a game changer. Go into control panel, then sound and look for the headset. You need to unplug from the little square box attached to the wire of the headset as unplugging from the USB and plugging back it didn’t work for me, but unplugging from the little rectangular box and replugging allowed for the computer to quickly recognize the headset by name. The name of the headset pops up on the screen momentarily when you do this. You can adjust some of the speaker setting in the configure part of the sound and headset area. You need to tell the computer which way you want to listen to your gaming by taking the steps necessary in sound.
The feature that stands out the most and impresses me the most, is the mic. The sound of the mic is very clear to the listeners. I’ve tested recording myself and playing back in addition to asking others how I sound and again, impressive.
The headphones are comfy, stay in place, easy to adjust and are easy to differentiate quickly from others I own because of the white color. The padding around the ears and the top of the head are comfy. The size of the headset is good for my smaller than average head circumference. It’s light in weight. The mic is adjustable, turns away and towards the face.
The sound during gameplay is crisp so you can hear your enemy approaching even if tiptoeing. It’s not noise canceling and I can hear the tv from two rooms away.
There’s an adjustable volume button on the same side of the headset as the mic. The adjustment for a larger head size than mine gives ample room for wider and longer diameters/circumference.

Precision sound creates an amazing realistic audio experience. Sony’s app “360 Spatial Sound” allows me to personalize how my headset sounds. By taking a photo (which is cleaver to say the least) of each ear, they tailor the effects through the IZONE Hub software. Its like wearing a soundbar speaker system without the bulk.
While you can plug the headset into any 3.5mm audio jack, the included USB adapter provides the extra power to hear sound the way the game designer or director intended it to be heard. Feel and hear spectacular audio like you do every day in nature. Planes fly overhead, left to right, front to back. “Feel” raindrops with your ears. Clear highs and mega bass. The digital world is as close to real as I had hoped for as an audiophile.
Ear cuffs are soft and comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The headband ratches to just the right fit around your ears and head without a crushing feel. A RED (R) and GREY (L) are discreetly embossed near each ear piece. I like that the red is used for the right side so I remember how to don the headset. A flip up and down microphone mutes when in the up position.
Sony makes both a wired and wireless version of the headset. The wired draws power from you console or PC. Nothing to charge. I prefer wired. The USB adapter gives a few more feet of cable, great when gaming.
Enjoy knowing someone is creeping behind you. Communication online is clear and reliable. Love the white color with contrasting grey SONY logo. The INZONE H3 is an afforable addition.

I found this to be a very good headset. It doesn’t feel overly sturdy however had no issues with it over the few weeks that I have had it. The comfort level is really good. I have worn them for several hours and they don’t seem to be warm or to tight. As far as the sound goes I would highly recommend using the usb connections over the 3.5mm Jack. The sound through the 3.5 seem to be muted and was not able to adjust out with the software. The Mike seem to do an decent job. Didn’t get any complaints from folks on the other end. I will say that the sound was better when connected to the ps5 over the pc. But it was not significant.
The software to turn it work well and is pretty much self explanatory. I do recommend that you use it as they sound is not bad out of the box however with all of the adjustments you can get it to the sound profile the you like. They are bright out of the box and that helps in case games but it not my preference. I was able to tone that down and boost the bass a bit to hit my preferences.
Overall a good headset – just wish it was wireless

I am a fan of Sony, so when I saw this, I knew I wanted to try them! I am yet to get my hands on a PS5, so I tried this with my PC gaming set up. Keep in mind, these are the most affordable gaming headsets from Sony’s INZONE line up.
5/5 – Price
Nowadays, gaming headphones can get very expensive, but these are just right for the casual gamer who is not trying to compete on weekend tournaments. Personally, I wouldn’t pay $300 for gaming headphones, so these are on my budget.
3/5 – Unboxing Experience
Nothing especial here and not really the reason why you are buying the headphones, but I always appreciate when the unboxing experience sets the tone.
4/5 – Built Quality
Hard plastic headphones and they feel sturdy, but I just wish they felt a little more rugged.
5/5 – Comfortability
Head cushion around the band. I have an average size head, so I didn’t move the band, but it can be made bigger or smaller to adjust to different sizes. Did a gaming session for about 2.5 hours and did not bug me one bit.
4/5 – Sound
The sound is amazing for the $100 price point. I won’t give it a 5 because that’s usually the case with headphones that are on the $250 price point, but these are great. I played some Warzone, Horizon, and FIFA, and they met my expectations no doubt. Microphone sounds good too.
5/5 – Software
Easy to navigate and able to adjust EQ to work on better on specific games. Sound personalization feature works good too.
Mookie –
In true Sony fashion the biggest standout is the actual audio quality of these headset. What I mean by that, is that you want a product to perform well in what matters most, you want your tv’s to have excellent video quality, speakers and in this review headphones to have excellent audio quality.
Sony I will say achieved that with these headphones, but we’ll come back to that.
Right off the bat I noticed how comfortable these are. There is a roughly ¾” padding for your ears that snuggles your ears quite nicely (see photo). Now I’m partial to the material the padding is made up, seems like it will last and has a great cooling effect. That will help your head and ears from sweating, when you’re in the middle of a late night gaming bender for 3 hours! I’m bald, so it’s a nice snug fit and doesn’t slide around too much. This might have a negative effect for someone with a lot of fine hair, might slide all over creation. The interior of the padding however, worries me. (see photo with pen pointing to it. I once owned a pair of headphones in this style, that the entire padding was what appears to be made of the same material this internal lining is made of. I say worried because after a couple years, it started peeling off in chunks like cheap faux leather does over time. I could be 100% wrong, just thought I should note it. Time will be the tell all for my concerns regarding that.
Been told I have a rather large noggin, so I will note that these have awesome girth capabilities, more than enough room!
Love how the R for right is red (see photo), and the L is very noticeable too. Most headphones I’ve owned, the microphone is on the left side like this set, but there’s nothing worse than turning over a pair of headphones in your hands looking for the stupid R & L indicators. Not the case with these, thank you Sony. (It’s the little things Jimmy)
The volume dial on the left ear piece is perfectly placed, and very functional, easy to reach up and adjust at a seconds notice. (when you’re wife is yelling at you cuz you let time get away from you and you’ve been playing for 3 hours, you can turn it down and answer her).
My one concern with these being wired, was squished, when I saw there is a breakaway connection in the cord.. Never fails when you need a bathroom break or you stand up and forget there’s a wire there, WHOOPS. With these headphones, they should disconnect if that happens and protect the headphone connection, as well as the USB connection on your PC.
Getting back to the beginning of my review and why these truly shine, the audio is magnificent. I wore them extra during an 8 hour session of working from home, and especially with Teams, voice quality is like the person is right next to you,
During gaming, WOWZA, no distortion if you crank it up! So whether you’re trying to drown out your wife who has been yelling at you to get off the game, or….wait, I don’t do that, who said that, oh yeah I did. Honestly it’s so that I can enjoy the game audio, Idk what I was insinuating before. The audio quality is truly outstanding, and after hours of usage I was not left with a sweaty head!
Great buy, and nice job Sony! I think these are built to last!
4 out of 5 stars only because they’re not wireless.
gabemstr –
I really really want to give this a five star rating, but I just can’t seem to do so. 5 stars would indicate that this is the perfect product, price point, and nothing wrong with it whatsoever. The thing is, I have other products and builds to compare this to, and so overall I give this four stars, but a really solid one. It’s on the higher end of 4 stars, not lower.
I would rate this a mid-tier set of headset. I’ve tested many headsets over the years especially with friends by me turning on the microphone and asking to describe how I sound and seeing how sound clarity is overall. When it comes to headsets, it’s a two way street. Not only do I want to hear footsteps behind me, but also want others to be able to hear me successfully as well.
I tested this on my PS5 playing Destiny 2. The sound is fine to me. When I talk through the mic, others can hear me fine as well, but personally my PlayStation Gold wireless headset seems to be better. However, if this was the H9 INZONE, that may be a different story.
Aesthetically as well, it’s not that great to me. It looks like ear muffs, and doesn’t have the sturdiness that I would expect of it. I’m a bit underwhelmed for the price you pay for this.
I tried this on PC as well and installed the INZONE Hub version 1.0.3.0 and I feel that this is required for optimal sound, so please be sure to download this for your INZONE headsets. I feel that you unlock more of its sound potential on PC that just plugging it into your PS5 and playing.
Cj23k –
By no means an expert but these sound great to me playing last of us. The wire is good because you dont have to charge them but bad because it doesn’t detach. Comes with a dongle for pc but also plugs directly in a playstation 5 controller. Very comfortable.
Familyof3 –
Love the fit-very comfortable. Great sound quality.

Sony nails the wired format with PS5 styling and excellent audio quality in an affordable wired headset.
I’ve tried this headset with the PS5 as well as with Nintendo Switch consoles, as well as with my gaming PC and I was not disappointed on any front.
On the PC side, I was able to also test the virtual surround with the included DAC and found this to work as well as any virtual surround I’ve used, with deep clear sound and good feedback from others about my microphone quality on both analog and digital use cases.
The headset is bulky, and resembles safety headsets worn in construction or the headsets worn by helicopter pilots – I would have liked to see Sony use a thinner earcup like some competitors but I think this translates to better over-ear comfort and better headband fit for larger heads, as well as better microphone positioning as well as audio quality and a unique design that fits right in with my PS5 kit.
All in all I’d reccomend these to anyone looking for a premium wired experience who might like the black and white Sony aesthetic.

awesome head set you can really hear the direction of the enemies or their steps, clean audio and microphone highly recommend if you like to COD, Apex, exc

Tested the H3 with several games to see what I was missing with the PS5s Tempest 3D audio. Those games included Demon’s Souls, Returnal, Horizon Forbidden West, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. The standout game (for me) for 3D audio was Ratchet and Clank. I guess the best way to describe 3D audio is that once you experience it, you want it in all games. The sound moves around you convincingly, such as with a surround sound system and media designed to take advantage of it.
In Ratchet and Clank, for example, the audio moves around you as a character you’re interacting with moves in the game. It’s very cool and turned a skeptic (I’m one by nature) into a believer.
Regarding features, the H3 is the most bare-bones of the INZONE product line-up. The added benefit is that the headset has the price tag to match. This is a wired headset, something I’ve forgotten about with the mass adoption of wireless headsets. The wire is plenty long and unobtrusive.

Amazing! Great for the price! Tunes out the voice of my LATINA wife(They’re very LOUD) while playing video games and streaming.

I like sony inzone, best sound in Playstation 5
Thank you!

Headphones have great sound but for some reason, the boom mic wouldn’t mute when I would put it up when playing COD on the PS5, I had to mute it from the controller. I even got a second pair thinking it was a factory defect but I still was having the same issue with the second pair, so I just end up returning them as well. I contacted Sony for a solution, they only gave the website on how to set it up with PS5 controller and still didn’t solve the problem. They are confortable, chat is clear, again sound was amazing, just couldn’t get it to mute when putting the boom mic up.
BrandenA –
It’s a Perfect Headset otherwise for the wired connection
Christian –
Microphone sounds very muffled. Not impressed at all. I would buy the pulse 3D headset instead.
RyanA –
Best Headphones I’ve had in a while.
Crisp, clear sound; Microphone picks up a lot (Although, I recommend some slight bending away from your mouth, because of that same sensitivity)
It works very well in the audio jack AND the hdmi port, and easily connects to multiple devices, especially Sony products
Manish –
It looks good but heavy to put on. You can’t use it more than 30 mins. Your head will start ache. Also can’t hear your voice which is negative. Had to return it. But the sound quality and mic is really good.
user873225 –
Volume is too low. It doesn’t cancel ambient noise either. I’d like to return this item, but I discarded the packaging.

Pretty good headset for the price and I like how there’s an adapter to plug in the aux.

They have good noise cancelling, and are builty well. Great quality. The base is a little low but overall good sound.

Nice price on this headset I plan on using it for VR2
BrandanG –
Good sound quality, mutable mic by lifting is nice. The included usb to 3.5 mm jack is nice. Haven’t used it on personal computer to compare the USB vs just the 3.5mm jack. I can’t seem to find a comfortable way for the headset to sit on one of my ears but that’s because I wear the headset higher up than I should. Also the pads are super soft. They remind me of a lightly toasted marshmallow where it’s super soft insides with a slightly firmer skin

Comfort is OK sound qualities not so great other than that
