    I had a recommendation from the Sony rep in my area and I’ve never been more pleased. With the investment of the Sony A7Riv I grabbed the Battery Grip so I will never have to worry about losing a shot because of a discharged battery.

    The grip holds to of the NP-FZ100 long lasting batteries and gives the body some extra size for gripping when inverting for Portrait modes. There are identical buttons on the grip corresponding to the most used on the body, plus the function and programmable “C” function keys.

    Convenient and a great value in every manner.

    I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this grip. It is what I needed to be able to do weddings without having to keep charging the one battery had. It is holds two batteries and that’s what I needed. My advice is to get a grip if you need more battery life or going to be shooting most of the day

    Must have grip for any camera. Sony has a shallow and short grip. The additional griping potential especially if you have large hands with the extra battery makes this grip idea for handling and stability.

    I have been using a Sony battery grip on my a7R III and it spoiled me so much that I got one for my a7S III. I initially was after the extended battery life, but the palm of my hand and pinky finger were so happy to have something to hold. I have long hands and this grip actually makes working the camera and controls easier and more relaxed. It does add a little weight, but I feel that actually helps steady the camera, especially when using a long telephoto lens. Made from the same mag alloy as the camera, and same high quality switch and buttons as the camera. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth it to keep your great Sony camera all Sony!

    i bought this vertical grip when i got the new a7riv and it is great! the a7riv already has great battery life, but this grip doubles it! (you have to buy the second battery separately) very comfortable in the hand and functions perfectly.

    Best grip for the Sony A7iv. Tried a third party grip and ran into issues. Plus it felt so cheap. The feel is great, and just works perfectly.

    You’re paying the Sony tax on this. I know there is a cheaper off brand one on Amazon for about $100, but why even risk it?

    With this, I am confident I’m not going to have issues while on the field.

    Black Vertical Battery Grip from Sony allows for long-term, comfortable shooting in the vertical orientation with the Alpha a7/a7R/a7S digital camera. It accepts 1-2 NP-FW50 batteries, which are available separately, to extend and possibly even double your shooting time. The grip uses a battery with lower power first, then automatically switches to the one with greater power when the first runs out. The remaining battery power is displayed as a percentage on your camera’s LCD monitor. The grip offers an extra shutter button, located at the low position, as well as front/back control dials and Auto Exposure Lock. All controls are placed appropriately for easy, comfortable access. A strap hole allows you to attach the optional STP-GB1AM Grip Belt. The buttons, dials, battery cover, and connecting terminal on the grip are securely sealed for dust and moisture protection.

    Much needed grip, Since owning the a6300 and now the a7IV, sony’s camera ergonomics arent the best. I have large hands and have always wanted something similar to Canon’s ergos i.e Canon 1DX line. This grip gives me better handling of my camera, more stability and even the portrait orientation is better. Also bought it on sale otherwise I’d have gone to a 3rd party manufacturer

    It definitely does the job and works as expected, however the design & look is not great when put on the A7 IV. The Battery grip for the A7 III fit better. I do think part of the reason they left this tiny gap is to help with cooling, but I don’t really know.
