Just got this lens and it is a great lens. I shoot a lot of wildlife and this lens is perfect. It focus fast and the 600mm is a real place getting those close up shots. Very smooth to focus in and out. I researched this lens for about a year and the positive reviews have been right on. For the money it beats paying for a Cannon 600mm lens which is 11K plus.
Vishnu –
This is one of the best telephoto lens for this price range.
icpv –
Excellent lens. Great quality sharp photos. Takes a little to get used to since it is a little heavier than he kit lens I had been using. Love being able to shoot wildlife not having to worry about getting too close or cropping a lot when editing.

First I can’t believe how fast I got my lens..Next day… Amazing..
This lens is awesome..
Focusing is fast and smooth..
Plenty of reach for those far subjects.. And for the price you can’t beat it…

Okay…at first I was looking at this lens as well as the Tamron lens, same spec. Both had equal good reviews. Thus, I went and bought the Tamron……within 3 days that lens had dust. ( mind you I have a Canon 100-400 lens for the last 5 years w, heavy use without so much as a speck on its internal lens),,,,returned the Tamron as defective and got another….same thing happened. Needless to say, the third time was the charm and I bought the Sigma 150-600 mm lens. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! First off, the lens itself appears to be put together much much better than the Tamron, the quality of the materials was superior. I test drove it after using the Sigma USB dock which I highly recommend. WOW crisp photos with little effort of the lens to focus quickly at the 600 length. And after 3plus weeks its not had any issue with internal dust or otherwise. This lens is top notch folks. ( coming from a long time dedicated Canon user. I would highly recommend! One last suggestion, take a moment to read the company’s mission statement on a little fold out thats included with the warranty and registration info. This will tell you all you need to know. A plus company with A plus products.

I’m no expert, but this lens is amazing. I am happy with the pictures taken with this lens. It is definitely heavy. Be cautious about that issue. I own a tripod and monopod and they are a necessity. I was taken using it free hand, but braced it on a picnic table and a bench. That did help.

I’m a surf photographer mostly in the water but this lens is great for me to shoot land from time to time without having to sell the farm on a prime 600mm
Shorins –
Great lens it a bit heavy
I use a monopod. Make sure to do a firmware update
Bewest –
So far lens has been working fine. Not sure my canon t2i camera works as well as it should . When I zoom in on images taken the lens the pictures are grainy.
Ellen –
This lens is good quality for the price. It will hold it’s own compared to the other more expensive brand lenses.
Phil –
Exactly what I was looking for at a reasonable price
GRUMMAN14 –
Great lens, just too heavy for me. It appeared difficult to focus when at 600mm, but that might be just me. Returned it.
Booo –
It was a great lens straight out of the box, even better after I customized it with the Sigma usb dock. Than there was an update, now it’s like the OS doesn’t even work. Trying to get a response from Sigma but nothing yet. If I don’t get one soon and the issue resolved this thing is going back!

Takes great pictures, operates very smoothly. Focal length works well for grandkids sporting events and wildlife photography

Denise –
This is such a great lens! Beautiful sharp pictures! I take a lot of bird pictures and they are sharp! I bought a cheaper lens elsewhere, and learned my lesson that I got what I paid for!
Timk –
Really nice supertelephoto lens, while I wish it was faster aperture it still performs nice, autofocus is snappy even adapted with the Mc-11 on Sony A9, worked out well for a wildlife trip to Alaska and birding around my area. Recommend it for an inexpensive alternative to the big threes super telephotos
Hemi –
Great pix with my Sony a7ii mirrorless camera. Works like I wanted and expected. Will work in auto mode but, I prefer manual. This really fits my needs of bird watching shots.
SoccerMomRN –
Bought this for sports and animal photography, & it definitely doesn’t disappoint! Great shots even teenagers love.
Drew –
Great birding lens for the money. I have a Canon t6i and they
work very well together. A sturdy tripod is a must for spot-on pictures as it is rather heavy and not so much a hand-holding lens.
I would definitely recommend purchasing the USB Dock to set-up the lens the way you want it and also to upgrade the software.
Ernie –
A special telephoto lens to get the job done. You can’t ask for more. Sharp photos, low price, and friendly staff at Best Buy Rosenberg,Tx
ExternalPower –
Great lens but you have to understand how to use it. Good quality construction. Fast focus perfect for sports and action scenes.
Spanky –
Attaches easily, but is heavier than I expected. Takes some getting used to but the pictures are so worth it. I photograph a lot of birds and this lens is wonderful.
FEna –
Excellent product and highly recommended for anyone interested in photography.

I love this lens! I would classify myself as a intermediate photographer. To me the stability lens is awesome this lens will not disappoint. All photo’s barehand held. Moon shot 600mm, city shots 150mm.
Ross –
No words can say… but perfect lens for nature/animals/sports shooting, worth every dollar.
Sharp –
great lens can get good picture if grandson when playing baseball in out field.
Steph –
Lens is great but a bit heavy. Get a tripod or monopod.
Lovethelens –
This lens is AWESOME! The only thing is that it is heavy but you can purchase a strap or harness.
Milo –
It’s a great lens for daylight photography on EF mounts. I wouldn’t recommend to use it on an RF camera with an EF adapter. I had a lot of issues with focusing.
Penny –
Outstanding len It takes great pictures and the best len on the market
Marlocw –
Love the lens. Still learning. Heavy and bucky but very versitile. Great pictures and value for the price.

Emily –
More than I could ever ask for. Perfect for my bird photography.
JCKB –
Love Sigma! So very happy you restocked it in time for Christmas! Thank you.
Zhiyun –
The lens feels extremely solid and well built and finished with a high-quality smooth, matte black exterior. The Contemporary model of the 150-600mm lens is the more consumer-oriented, less pro-level lens, and as such doesn’t feature as thorough of weather sealing. The lens features a rubbery gasket on the lens mount and the front element has water and oil repellent coatings, but otherwise, the lens is not weather-sealed like the Sports version, so be sure to cover the lens if you’re out in inclement weather.
JamieH –
So far so good. Love the f stop on this one, definitely gets out there for distance
Iceman32078 –
Very good quality for the price. The glass is alot more clear than the factory lense that came with my camera! Highly Recommend
Sohel –
Handheld pictures. Excellent build quality. Crispy, sharp pictures. Recommended

I realize that this review seems a little dated. I didn’t want to use this lens once or twice and then review it. I have now used the lens over a year. I am a professional photographer, specializing in landscapes, aerials, and wildlife. Is this a 5 star wildlife telephoto lens? Probably not, due to the 5-6.3 limitation. However, for the price, and comparing it to the Canon 400MM or 600MM, NO CONTEST. This lens is tack sharp, and easy to use. It can be used handheld, and is lighter than the competitors, but works best on a tripod. If you’re going to use it handheld, need to be at a shutter speed of 1/1500th or quicker. My only knock on the lens, and I knew this prior to purchasing it, is that it does not perform great in low light situations. Not horrible, but not great either. I would say average, in low light situations. Living in Alaska, that does pose more of a challenge, particularly in the Winter time. However, I have learned, over the time that I have used it, how to use it the most effectively, in lower light situations. Get as close as you can to the subject, stationary subjects are best, so you can open the shutter longer, and use Auto ISO. If I had it to do over again, I would absolutely purchase the lens again. Now, if money is not an object, I would probably purchase the Canon 400MM 2.8, or the 600MM 4.0, but they are both price a TON higher than this lens.

I was in the market for a medium/long-distance lens for nature/wildlife/sports photography before discovering this model. After some practice with the settings and gearing it for my camera body (Canon M50), it’s a question as to why I waited so long to make the purchase! This is now my go-to lens in my arsenal and will be for years to come!
