This microwave is great for a smaller space. It works well as an under the counter unit.

I was limited by width in my cabinet and this microwave was the perfect fit. I am still completing my kitchen so I haven’t used it yet, but I look forward to using my new microwave.

We bought this microwave as a replacement for the same model we had previously, which died after 3 1/2 years of use. The problem was with the transformer. Cost to repair would have been $210. The repair shop said 3 – 4 years of use is all that is to be expected from a microwave nowadays anyhow.
So, we decided to just get a new one, and Best Buy had the best deal. We took the old one out and snapped the new one right back into the old mounting bracket on the wall. It was a little tricky, but we got the new one installed without too much effort.
Another reviewer of this model (in a different color) said the latch on his door broke after a few years. I can definitely see how that could happen if the door is slammed shut or abused in some other way. The door latch is plastic, and it can break. However, we always close the door gently and had no problems with the door for the 3 1/2 years we used this model.

This is our third Sharp 1214 microwave. Our first one lasted 3 1/2 years. We just replaced it with another, identical one. We are keeping the third one in our basement in case Sharp goes out of business, or in case the model is discontinued.

I purchased this microwave to replace one I had. Since it is built in, I needed the exact brand, model, and size. I am so thankful they are still available. I love that is is not huge, and that it sits about 10″ above my counter and does not take away from counter space. I am short and can see into the microwave unlike one that sits above the stove. If you are short (under 5′ like me) this is the kind you need. Even if you are not short, over the counter is a great way to go.

We had purchased the same model years ago so the new one fit in without demolition. It looks great and we didn’t have to be retrained to use it.
