Ok, it happens more times than I’ll admit, but these speakers have me looking around the room after hearing noises from a movie or show. They are fantastic rear/side speakers. They definitely enhance the sound for movies, football, TV and definitely music.

These are great rear speakers to pair with one of the matching Samsung soundbars. The sound quality of the system overall impresses me; I’ve got an open TV area with a sloped ceiling up to the second floor, and open to the living and dining rooms… so challenging to fill with good sound… yet these speakers do it.
The rear speakers don’t necessarily have a lot of content, but they connect well and play when there’s content for them.

I want to thank the bro who returned the pair I bought as a open box in “good” condition. When I oppened them up, they were bassically brand new. everything was wrapped and the twist ties were never untwisted.
I got home, pair it to our q700a. turning our 3.1.2 setup to a 5.1.4 setup. I could not be happier with the price I paid and the quality this added to my already good surround sound.

the speakers allows 5.1.4 when added to some of the supported 3.1.2 Samsung soundbars. unfortunately the rear speakers sound levels are relatively weaker compared to soundbar right/left channels. even when set to maximum adjust levels they are barely noticeable and drowned out by much louder front channel sounds. for a small bedroom where the front channel overpowers the rear spears seem to be useless. for bigger rooms ( and living rooms etc) it might work when volumes are raised up very loud and one can hear the rear speakers. brand new prices are too expensive but refurbished prices might justify getting it for some situations where rear speaker sound can be heard with high volume. also the speakers are quite big and traditional rear speaker stand might not be able to support it.

One speaker has a little ticking noise to it occasionally. Not sure if it has to do with a video format from hard drive or factory defect. It’s not all the time though, or with every movie.

I have a samsung 700b soundbar and needed some rear speakers. These are great–just get them open-box for a better price. And make sure to turn up the volume in the rear speakers. Works awesome with the mounting dream stands I bought on amazon (see pic)!

I picked up a pair of the Samsung SWA-9500S Dolby Atmos Surround Speakers 35 watts per channel two weeks ago. I continue to be disappointed with Samsung because they neglect to implement the woofer/ tweeter configuration. Instead, they use full range speakers. In this case. the full range speakers that are used for the surrounds are acceptable. Since the grills are non-removable, I take a special light that penetrates the speaker grill and exposes the speaker driver for what it is. The Samsung surround speakers that I purchased back in 2020 (SWA-8500S), used a driver that represented a speaker that was installed in a Driver-in speaker, aka Cheap! The objective to a true Surround Sound experience is to have all speakers acoustically matched. I found a Dolby Digital Surround Test file on the internet, and when initiating the program, the SWA-9500S almost match the acoustics of the sound bar.
Now let’s talk about the connecting cord length. It is ridiculous to supply only five foot electrical cord. Extra cord is required if you want to use a good set of speaker stands. Luckily, I was able to find 10- and 12-feet replacement cords. This length is acceptable for most A/V setups.
I have read reviews where people have commented on the percentage of audio projected from the surround speakers, or the lack there of. I only noticed this while watching analog programing. Basically this would fall under the sub-stations of your local broadcasting channels. If you have OTA (Over the Air) this is most noticeable. To compensate for this loss, I set my Samsung sound bar to Virtual DTS-X. It raises the audio sound in all nine channels (speakers) 7 decibels. I disable this feature when watching true digital material. Because if I do not, the rear channels overpower the sound bar. Since I have my speaker close to the viewing area, this is most noticeable. However, if you have your speakers mounted on the wall overhead, you my find it beneficial to leave the Virtual DTS-X enabled.
Now with that said, keep in mind that the surround channel (speakers) only output background sounds. People appear to confuse this with quadraphonic sound. Where the sound comes from the speakers equally. The only time you should hear an actors voice in the surround channels if they are out of view of the camera. For example, In Hocus Pocus, where the camera is set on the main characters, and the witches are flying overhead and yet not visible in the scene. You will hear them cackling in the surrounds.
For the first time ever, yes, I would recommend this speaker set to others.

I was sitting close to the right speaker on right edge of my sofa while a phone was vibrating in the movie on the left side of the screen. I turned my head to the left and started reaching, thinking my phone was on the left side of my sofa vibrating.
….That whole time, I was holding my phone and it was silent….

Movies with atmos/mastered audio separates the channels very well. Movies that don’t have any special mastering just play the same audio on these speakers that are playing out the main center soundbar. Even when the audio isn’t separated and is simply copying the same audio from the soundbar, it helps with clarity being able to hear the same audio beside me, in sync.

Really happy with these speakers, I got them at a great price as open box item. Works with my Samsung Q7CB soundbar system 100%. These rear speakers have volume adjustment for rear channels and rear atmos channels, you can boost the volume in settings. This produces and supports up to 7.1 or 5.1.2 format with combined system output for full surround. Best and max volume wattage from rears for music listening is with “adaptive sound” mode with rear volume all the way up.

These speaker changes the whole experience of Dolby atmos content . I bought open box and they were like new no complains and working great. If you are worried about testing, there is a method to test each individual channels on Samsung Soundbars by pressing the right button on remote.

I got these open box excellent for less than 100, so for that price yes, I think these are great. They definitely add sound and make a more immersive experience. But ultimately, I think you need stands for them to make the best use out of them, unless you happen to have conveniently located end tables/bookcases/shelves to the side of you or behind your watching area. I don’t think they do as well on the floor. Put one on an end table and the other on the floor test. End table side produced much clearer sound.
Also these can only be used WITH a compatible Samsung soundbar (I use HW-Q800C). Not as standalone speakers, even though they are full range. Which I mean, would have added more utility but since they are really only meant to be used in a home theater setup anyway, not really an issue. Just thought I would add in case anyone was wondering.
