    Hello Fellow Consumers,
    Brief History: I owned the Rosetta Stone program in the past…It was a stand alone program that belonged to you
    Plain & simple:
    1)This is an online program you cannot use this Program(product) OFFLINE.
    2)You cannot have multiple USERS!
    3)You CANNOT RETURN this if it WAS NOT bought DIRECTLY from Rosetta Stone(so buy it from them so you can see for yourself.
    4) This is an ONLINE SUBSRIPTION SERVICE-yes it’s for a lifetime but NO INTERNET MEANS NO LEARNING!! What if my power goes out for a week?-no lessons that week
    5) As far as I can tell you can use all 24 launguages

    Extremely Disappointed
    Dispite what the Rosetta stone web site says I will try to get a refund from Best Buy

    I haven’t spent a lot of time with the software yet, but there’s other places for reviews on different language learning programs and the pros/cons of each. I have used Rosetta Stone in the past for Spanish and had a great experience. So far, this version of the service for other languages seems similar.

    To verify, this code does give you access to all 24 languages with a lifetime subscription. While it is an online service, you can download all of the lessons to your device (mobile, PC…) and use them anytime without a connection. There is also another service (additional cost) available in the program to participate in live conversations and streams to gain more experience with a language. At the time of this writing that costs an additional $129.99/year and remains in beta according to Rosetta Stone.

    I wanted to include all of this, because Rosetta Stone doesn’t do a great job of showing it’s options prior to signing up and some of the other reviews for this product online state it doesn’t include all languages, which isn’t the case.

    This program is very presumptuous. Sometimes you can pick the correct picture by process of eliminating the words you know/don’t know. Other times, incorrect answers are selected because I have no idea what some of the words mean. The program would be better suited if there were translations to your native language. I don’t think their teaching method was very well thought out.

    It takes some getting used to because you need to learn the language through photos which I sometimes misunderstand. Overall this is a good tool for learning any language. I got it on sale so it was a great value for unlimited languages for a lifetime.

    Excellent program to learn a new language. You can do multiple languages, but need to finish the current lesson (not the full language) before starting another.

    I owned Version 3 of Rosetta Stone’s Italian Software years ago and made it about 75% of the way through the whole 5 Level program before taking a trip by myself to Italy to visit some relatives, some of whom don’t speak any English. I learned enough to get by while in Rome and in the mountains about an hour and half outside of Rome where my Grandfather was born but I wasn’t able to hold a serious conversation with anybody unless they knew English.

    I bought the new program and restarted the Italian lessons in part because it was much cheaper than it was when I bought the 5 Level program years ago and I could access other languages if I wished for a single cost.

    However, Rosetta Stone’s teaching techniques haven’t changed all that much. There’s still no explanation of the grammar rules to help you out. What they’re trying to convey and teach with the pictures isn’t always clear. Finally while they got rid of the clunky “conversation” pieces that ended the previous stages within the Levels, they’re now replaced with a short story where new words are tossed in seemingly at random.

    Maybe I’ll try a non-Latin based language once I’ve completed the Italian this time around, but I’ll do like I did before and supplement it with books about the new language written in English so I better understand the rules of grammar.

    What I have noticed is that the first lessons are helping me build a strong foundations to future words I’ll will be leading latter in the program. I think the app on the phone is perfect when you have down time
