    Great quality mic but should have the availability to change recording settings. You aren’t able to use mic on a mobile device unless you have an adapter that is sold separately.

    For such a small and inexpensive boom mic, it works more than well enough. I’ve gotten impressive clarity and range out of it, but the directionality is far from perfect and plenty of background noise will still get through.

    After adding the RØDE – VIDEOMICRO Compact On-Camera Microphone to my filming arsenal, I’ve been eager to share my thoughts on its performance.

    Pros:

    Superb Sound Quality: This microphone truly shines when it comes to audio clarity. Voices come through naturally, and the reduction in ambient noise is noticeable, especially when compared to my camera’s built-in microphone.
    Compact and Lightweight: Its name doesn’t lie; the VIDEOMICRO is indeed compact. It doesn’t add any significant weight to my setup, making it perfect for handheld vlogging or on-the-move shooting.
    Durable Build: The build quality is impressive. It feels sturdy, and I’m confident it can withstand the occasional bump or drop.
    Cons:

    Battery Life: While the microphone performs excellently, I did notice that the battery drains faster than I expected. For long shoots, carrying an extra set of batteries is a must.

    Windshield Limitations: While the included furry windshield is a nice touch and works well in light breezes, it struggles a bit in more windy conditions. An upgrade might be necessary for those frequently shooting outdoors.

    Overall Experience:
    The RØDE – VIDEOMICRO has been a game-changer for my video projects. The audio quality is a significant step up from my previous microphones in this price range. While there are minor areas for improvement, the pros far outweigh the cons. I’d recommend this microphone to any content creator, from budding YouTubers to seasoned videographers, looking for a reliable and high-quality audio solution without breaking the bank.

    This mic gives quick light weight mic to small Mirrorless or DSLR cameras without adding too much extra weight to make video recording hand-held or on gimbal(not too much off balancing to take on or off). Only major con would be the red plastic mic holder isn’t to stable and will flop mic due to it being lighter than metal of microphone, its to help with shock mounting effect off so vibrations of camera movements aren’t heard.

    Works as it should and that is fantastic… only two issues that do not affect the function of the microphone 1. the dead cat is hugh and 2. the way the microphone was packaged it leans forward a bit and I keep trying to work it back straight other than those it works great.
