This product is price well. I partnered it with my Rode microphone. It really do it’s job. Well made and useful especially in using an outside coverage. Highly recomended

This deadcat windshield worked flawlessly when use with the Rode mic.

It’s expensive but fast delivery and it does the job
OAlonzo –
Simple, nicely design, and durable! this products does what it was created to do, nothing more and nothing less to say about this product.
Will –
I used this for my rode mic and I’m glad that I choiced this one.
Stateofmind –
I felt like it didn’t really block out wind noise.
mikeraw –
Easy to install, and works great! It does exactly what it say it does.
Bigmep –
It is hard to fit it over the mic but it does really help quiet wind noise.
WGRIII –
The fit of this product over my rode mic was pretty tight. It did a decent job blocking out “normal” Oklahoma wind noise, but if you are going to be in a super windy situation and require absolute cancellation, you may want to consider stepping up to the blimp. But, if you are looking for something cost effective for a majority of windy situations, this thing does the job.

Dead cat For my roads microphone work great during windy conditions filming a video
PizzlesTechTime –
I thought this was the dead cat that would replace the original microphone cover, however it just goes over the original cover on the videomic pro. I’ve been recording using this indoors just to test the audio and it seems to get the same great audio the mic gets usually.
TyWills –
This is very good if I was there recording it blocks the wind very well providing a crisp beer sound I do recommend it
Keon –
Ain’t anything better than this won’t be disappointed at all
Tony –
Good product didn’t fit what I needed for overall k
Dominic –
Very good mic works right out the box without having any issues easy to set up
Gekek –
Seems to help to get a better sound when it’s windy outside definitely

This, thankfully, doesn’t smell like a deadcat. It is a little big for the VM Pro, but it works like advertised. Don’t worry about the wind, just the strays that look at you funny holding this thing. Not really an audio expert or taxidermist, but this works like it should and is easy to put on, unlike my stuffed cat, that just sits there.
xthexundyingx –
I love Rode mics, and this deadcat helps alot to cut down wind noise
Customer –
Works great, no interferences and comes in clear. Use it for parties and ads
Jakedean33314 –

LiamPhotoATL –
A friend who shoots tons of video suggested I get this to help with background noise while shooting Youtube videos for my abandoned buildings project. It seems to help with wind noise but doesn’t seem to help much is traffic noise.
gutestudio –
Feels like a real cat! It was a little difficult putting it on my Rode Video Mic Pro Plus but a how to instruction video on Youtube helped.
DNPP –
Purchased this as an addition to the microphone and pleased with the item.
Basit –
This dead wind shield is a beautiful look to be outdoor in public recording. Specially if there is a lot of background noise or wind, dead wind shield helps to make your recording smoother.
BinkyBarns –
Yessir, this thing deadens all wind noise. Even though the product code is impossible to understand, it does fit the Rode VideoMic Pro. It is a snug fit. You leave the foam cover on the mic, and put this over the foam.
AmbitGuy –
Local photo/video stores didn’t have this item, and I needed it before some online warehouse could ship it to me. A quick online check at BestBuy.com and I found a local BB store that had two of these items.
Went to the store and asked the guy at the entrance where I could find a “Deadcat”. Of course he thought I was joking. I got help from another person, returned to the entrance watcher, and showed him that indeed they sell a “Deadcat”.

I love to use highly recommended for really enjoyed
tStep –
Fit and works great on the mic. Cuts the wind like butter.
JohnThreeSixteen –
Fits like a glove on my videomic pro. Glad to have it on hand whenever I am outside shooting video.
jkalman25 –
It definitely blocks out wind noise effectively. While it helps it is also not a cure all – if it’s super windy you will still have some effect from the wind. Considering the price point it is a good place to start if you are encountering wind noise issues while shooting outdoors
Matt –
It works, but not as well as you’d think and many of the reviewers say. Sometimes, wind is gonna win out. My tip is to try and remember to keep wind at your back, using that as a shield, if you can, with a smaller camera.
Austin –
It helps with the wind like it’s supposed to. This isn’t a capsule though and if you’re mounting on your camera, the mic is still susceptible to wind noise.
Reviewer2020 –
This was suppose to be included with my microphone which it wasn’t, best buy did the right thing by providing credit to purchase one and it works wonderful. It blocks unnecessary wind and makes for even an interview mic, very professional sounding.
Freddy –
Makes the sound better when outdoors easy to put on
TomP –
Excellent addition to the Rode VideoMic Pro+. No matter how good your microphone is, you’ll want to cut down on the wind noise for better sound quality. This DeadCat was made especially for this microphone and does a good job.
Awesome –
This really elevates the sound quality on your microphone when shooting outdoors.
Deej –
Great product definitely would recommend for anyone to buy this product ASAP
Darrin –
Works as intended. It’s just a dead cat after all. Could be cheaper.
Duck –
As described. Will come in handy, even for a novice like myself!
BILL –
It does what it’s supposed to, cut down on wind noise. Not much else to say, it’s a very simple product.
Dappersons –
Overpriced should be included in purchase of a $200+ mic
Max1030 –
If the wind is blowing you need it.. Appreciated the name brand quality
Mickel –
My favorite mic to this day. I love how compact it is for everyday travel.
