Owed this for a few weeks now and im very satisfied with it. Picks up police radar pretty far away more than enough time to slow down and after 3 times going by places that set it off it remembers it and doesn’t go off anymore best radar detector i ever owned and i have been buying them for years definitely a good buy

I like having the mute botton on the power brick it’s easy to reach and does have to be hit frequently. K band is used so many placed, stop lights cars near you, automatic doors and if it weren’t for speed sensing things I would block the band entirely, I spent the money o this unit because of the auto lock out capabilities which when it does makes the ride much more peaceful.

There are great features – like the magnet to hold on the windshield, but it’s hard to know if it’s really working right. I knew my old one was reliable. Still seeing cops and not hearing the beeps – but I know they could be running laser.

I decided to purchase the Radenso radar detector after reading/seeing so many positive reviews on the Best Buy app while in-store at a location in West Little Rock, AR. To sum up my experience, I regret purchasing this Radenso unit because the detection technology is no more reliable than the MUCH older (and cheaper) Cobra unit I was trying to replace. I live in a rural, small town and it misses local law enforcement 99% of the time… To make matters worse, the sales representative neglected to tell me the return period was only 15 days.

Simple to use, gps, minimalistic, decently long range, so far nothing wrong with it. Being able to mute K bands based on your gps is handy for those speed cameras that just record speed and no picture. Works in the c8, would recommend.

Amazing range, Lots of false alarms in town, but on the highway it will sense moving Illinois State Police 3 plus miles away on freeway. So far that you start to wonder.
It will give false Ka when passing some semis. It doesn’t sound on Hondas like some reviews say.
I use this in a mostly rural environment. Pretty sensitive in city. Updates help this.

I purchased the Radenso DS1 at a really good sale price and chose this over Escort and Uniden models based on reviews I saw on the web for it’s ability to pick up radar at longer ranges. Out of the box, the detector seemed to work fine for a few days prior to taking a 2300 mile trip that I specifically purchased this for. Into the trip, I finally got an opportunity to do a firmware update on the device. The firmware update started and about halfway through the device literally died. It would not power on again. It felt warm to the touch and I tried again to power it up once it stayed unplugged for a while, but to no avail. The fuses in the power cord and the car’s cigarette lighter position were not blown. I stopped at a Best Buy in a city along my trip and they were very supportive in offering me an exchange. I opted to go with another brand and paid more, but I did not want to risk another situation such as this happening again if I did firmware updates.

Like the look of unit, and the weight was not heavy at all. Unfortunately, the lightweight aspect may play a part in its inability to stay attached to the slide in/magnetic mount…one big bump or pothole, and it will fall right off the mount. It may cover all the bands, but just too many alerts for me, mostly false ones.

This is amazing and more times then not has been correct. Very sensitive and gives 360 coverage. Has settings that are very useful like changing the tones for each type of radar that is detected. Also has auto-lockout for when its a known fixed radar that isn’t a ticket giving kind. There is an app for android for even more settings but I sadly have apple. They did recently cone out with an apple app but you have to update the firmware requiring you to connect it to your computer to update and the app you have to pay for before yoy can even see what it is that it offers. And i dont think its an official app since the name of the developer isnt the company. There are, at times, stray radars that it catches that are not ones in the direction you are going and i almost feel that it picks up radar too soon causing you to question if it’s a valid detection. The buttons for the menu can be a pain since there are only 4 of them minus the mute button in the front. I like the additional usb port on the v12 plug so you dont lose the ability to charge a device, only thing I would suggest is also a usb- c port. The mount is very strong and has only come down once which was right after i cleaned my interior windshield, so I assume the cleaner got under the suction and thats why it came off. You have other mounting options but didnt need them so dont know what specifically those are. Very effective and I also like that this conpany offers ticket compensation during the use of the device if you still manage to get a speesing ticket they will pay for it if it doesnt pick up the signal, as it’s intended. Overall, especially for roadtrips, this is a must have.

This makes a total of 3 Radenso radar detectors I have owned and each one has worked well without any problems. The DS1 is definitely another step up from both the XP and Pro M. It is even quieter (false alert wise) than the first two which were quite good. I love the auto lockout of false stationary signal which seems to work well. The GPS acquires signal much faster than the Pro M. The display is larger and easier to see and read. Also having different colors (and sounds of course) for the types or radar signal allows you to instantly determine which band and threat level. I’ve owned 7-8 detectors over the years and this is the best of them all overall. The only negative comment is on the lack of a visor mount which I prefer. That was easily fixed by drilling a 1/4 hole in a Pro M visor mount and using a 1/4 inch allen head screw to attach it through the hole. Last but no least of course is that is very sensitive and provides plenty of advanced warning, especially helpful with the recent increase of photo radar for school zones in my area.
I highly recommend this detector if you can manage to find one. They are in short supply.
