    Purchased this filter mostly to protect the front element of my telephoto lens, and I suppose it does help with UV light distraction. It fit smoothy, I can detect no effect on photo quality, and it’s doin’ its job!

    It’s a UV filter, which most modern lenses/cameras will handle UV on their own. I use this more as a lens protector than anything, to keep dust/debris from scratching the element or an accidental drop from short distances. Decent quality for the price, however you can tell that it is not a $50-100 filter.

    This lens filter is vital for my job, as I use it in dusty and dirty environment. The primary use of this is to try to keep dirt and debris away from the lens itself, and to allow some protection in case of a minor rock or equivalent coming towards it. Filters like these has likely saved many of my lenses so far, so here is to hoping in case of something, that it will do the same.

    I’ve only taken a few pictures with this filter so I can only say I see a difference in my pictures. Only thing is that you can no longer use the cap cover…but your camera lens is protected.

    The Platinum 58mm UV filter was perfect. No problem with the threads on either end. I’ve experienced that before. More importantly, there is no shift in my color or b/w photos.
