- Master strategic, ring-based battles
- Line up scattered enemies, and plan your attack to maximize damage with the new, ring-based battle system that requires both puzzle-solving skills and a quick wit
- Mario and Luigi receive an invitation from Princess Peach to attend an origami festival and excitedly hurry to Toad Town, but something’s amiss
- After investigating the eerily empty town, the duo finds a fearsome (and folded) Princess Peach – she’s been turned into origami by King Olly, ruler of the Origami Kingdom
- With five giant streamers under his control, King Olly binds Princess Peach’s castle and transports it to a distant mountain as part of his plan to refold the world
- On his journey to liberate Peach’s castle and repair the ravaged paper landscape, Mario meets Olivia, King Olly’s sister, and the two join forces to put a stop to Olly’s origami onslaught
- Even Bowser falls victim to Olly’s plot when his minions are turned into origami Folded Soldiers and betray their Koopa king, forcing him to ally with Mario and Olivia
- Battle the Folded Soldiers in ring-based battles that challenge you to strategically line up enemies to maximize damage
- Out of battle, Mario can use the arm-extending 1,000-Fold Arms ability in specific spots to interact with the landscape to pull, peel, hit and more. Join Mario, Olivia, and their companions on a journey of laughter and emotion, thrills, and a whole lot of folding

Great game, I still didn’t master the boss fights just as yet but I’m getting there and the game is so hilarious you must give it a try for yourself.

Honestly this game was much better than I thought it would be. Has a unique charm, isn’t difficult and there re only a few annoying parts.
Samsungrefridgowner –
Got this from my grandsons wish list for a Christmas
TSlop –
Very good game for Paper Mario fans. While it is not quite the same as the original N64 ones, it was still fun to play an RPG type of Mario game again. I would recommend this for any Mario fan that would like to have some laughs with the dialogue as they play through it.
Eleazar –
Great story, gamplay and also difficulty. Most mario games are easy, but this one was good all the way around. Highly recommend it
Apex964 –

Annui –
The sliding puzzle battle system is a bit weird but the overall game design is great. And at least there’s a very slight shift from the standard “Save the Princess” plot.

I haven’t play paper Mario games since the GameCube. This game is great, the RPG gameplay is astonish and fun. Such a great game
jonny –
It’s an entertaining well written vibrant experience. It’s not the paper mario you remember from 1000 year door. Not exactly an rpg. But it’s a fun game worth trying. When I pick my switch up I find myself playing this for short bursts alot.
WizardFlame –
The fighting tactic is new and different, but the story is amazing!
Oscarmusprime –
Fun but not as fun as Color Splash according to my 8 year old. Cant blame Nintendo for trying. Still fun to have more Mario games around.

Bought this as Christmas gift! I wish i had received an in store code but it was all online.
jihk –
Overall an okay addition to the paper Mario series. Battles do get repetitive after a while.
Markey1 –

DADOF4 –
Bought at as gift for family member. Played it a while and very fun and challenging.

The Paper Mario series started off strong with its debut game on the N64 and delivered an epic of a tale with GameCube’s Thousand Year Door. However, entries of the series on the 3DS and Wii U have been incredibly disappointing. They lacked the charm and quirkiness that the series was known for. My expectations for Paper Mario and the Origami King were low, but I decided to give it a chance and was thoroughly pleased. The story, the characters, the visuals, and the gameplay felt fresh and had every bit of charm these first two entries of Paper Mario had.
While many criticize the way in which battles play out, I found it to give the series a bit of challenge that the series had always lacked. If you’re into puzzle solving, you’ll probably enjoy it like myself.
Sean –
Fun at first, but gets repetitive and tedious as it goes by. You’ll find yourself using the Toad shortcuts pretty frequently in combat.
David –
My switch says i played this game for 35 hours or more. I 100% the game. Some points in the game dragged a little too long, but overall the game was fun. The story is nothing crazy, but gets the job done.
Kenna –
Husband loved the game. Has kept him pretty entertained for the past 2 weeks
Teamoney –
Ah Nintendo u did it again. Minimal effort for maximum cost
Jose –

Oberon –
Good Game, it’s a Paper Mario Classic with a good adventure, the game is so beautiful.
Brady –
Amazing story, and the game looks great! Definitely recommend this game
NotNorman –
The new battle system has a decent learning curve but once you get the hang of it, it’s not too bad. But overall it’s a great story.
DrakeB –
Overall fantastic purchase. The entire family enjoys the game. While the combat system can get mundane at time there are a lot of collectibles and humor to keep everyone entertained.
Hecey –
It a very long journey to complete it, so many hours of fun ahead.
Davy –
I love Mario games, been playing them since I was a kid, but this game has issues. I love the story, and I love the characters, Olivia is awesome.
But, and a huge BUT, the combat system is repetitive and boring, makes me want to rage quit. Also a lot of filler that is not needed. Like the game show, it’s fine as a side quest, but not apart of the main story.
But yeah, the combat system get boring fast, real fast. You can’t even flee half the time, you are stuck in it and you die. Not worth your money, it gets frustrating.
mrc5451 –
Really fun game that’s expected in The Mario game world
Sidofbme –

Love this game! It has so much content and doesn’t get old as you progress through. Some really fun levels and puzzles
lisalisa2x –
We are obsessed ! My 4year old loves it and it’s fun for the whole family to take turns playing.
Disappointed –
I will never buy another digital download from Best Buy. it took my money instantly, but still no code best buy tells me, “we have to wait for the transaction to settle”. that makes no since I could have went to the store swiped the same card and walked out with the game. no wait there so why would there be a wait for this it should have been an instant transaction. At this rate ill get the games they shipped in the middle of a snow storm before the digital one
Energize –
I enjoy this game. Its pretty advanced for beginner players.
