Probably the worst microwave I have ever owned. Supposedly you hit (for example) the popcorn button … half the popcorn isn’t popped when it says it is. It’s always a guessing game as to what button to push … Loved old microwave and this thing costs twice as much and isn’t half as good. Definately do NOT recommend!!!
Mtns2Lakes –
First Panasonic MW for us. So far, so good. Controls make sense and it cooks a little faster.
Perla –
It cooks, heats, and defrosts better than our old microwave. We had to throw out the 30 year old microwave when my wife got a pacemaker. Apparently the shielding wasn’t that good back then. The control panel is different but interesting. I keep a cheat sheet handy for when I want to try something new so it works just fine for me. My wife prefers an old number panel but has learned how to use the new panel.

Just as advertised: great appearance, good size & easy to operate. Warms, defrosts and cooks evenly and quickly. This is our 2nd Panasonic oven and we appreciate how they are manufactured and their reliability. Consumer Reports gave this micro a very high rating. Kudos!
Mochi –
Microwave received in great condition and works very well. Very happy with purchase. Received very fast!!
oldschool –
Replaced a 5 year old Panasonic and was pleasantly surprised at the features and improved efficiency of our new microwave. It seems to be a better built and more solid appliance, with more power and intuitive controls.
Latty –
Smaller than the microwave we replaced. Works great
Vikram –
Great microwave meets all my requirements. You will learn the keypad very soon. However note that the rotating tray sits high (its not in a dip) and does take up some of the space in the microwave.
Also the internal light is on the side and not bright enough to see the inside without peeking.
Sooh –
The product was great, it works efficiently and is perfect
SWMorgan –
We purchased this on the recommendation of Consumer Reports reviews. So far, it’s been a great addition to our kitchen. It’s powerful, efficient,
and easy to use right away with the basic settings. We’re still learning many of the other programming options.

Best Buy did a great job of getting this microwave to us from order to delivery. Unfortunately, the unit itself leaves a LOT to be desired. EVERY function is via an icon which are not intuitive. It took 40 minutes scouring through the manual to figure our very basic functions. NOT GOOD! There is no number pad to set heating cooking times, only a + or – to increase/decrease the time. Further, you cannot set a time of 12 sec, or 33 sec as the timer goes from 1 to 10 then jumps in increments of 5 sec. (15, 20, 25, etc.). In its normal state the operating pad is dark with only the time displayed. You have to open and close the door for it to light up The unit is rated at 1200 watts, but does not seem to warm things very well. Our previous unit was also 1200 watts and heated items much more quickly at lower time settings.
Be aware that Panasonic has no customer service call center to ask questions. Everything must be done online via an overly complicated problem search. We’re keeping this machine, but would not buy it again despite high Consumer Reports rating. VERY INADEQUATE for msot uses of a microwave.
Great –
Love this microwave. I did a lot of research before purchasing this microwave and it has not disappointed.
Lyca –
This one is the similar and more improved model as the one we had. It has more modern looks too. It has the right size that just fit into our kitchen’s customized top cabinet, and right power for our use. We were so satisfied with our old one so we had no hesitation to get this one without looking/shopping around.
We mostly use the microwave oven to re-heat and defrost so not sure about it’s cooking function. I’ll explore it in the future.
We trust Panasonic microwave oven because it never failed and lasted long time based on our and our friends’ experience.
KeepItForever –
We chose Panasonic and this model because of the 1,250 wattage and reviews saying it’s dependable and quiet – features of our old Sharp microwave. We’ve had the Panasonic for three weeks and are getting used to it. It is quiet and it does the job. The “slider bar” for adding time is not precise; so is annoying to use. At maximum power it takes longer than our old microwave, but the heating is fairly even. The touch pad does not light or respond until you open and close the door. Once you learn the icons and shortcuts the machine is fairly easy to use and versatile. The stainless case is NOT smudge-resistant. We hope this microwave will last a long time and we like it so far.
RozS –
I love this microwave, works well, is easy to use and intuitive. I don’t like that I have to open the door to set the timer. It is very quiet and heats/cooks well. I purchased this after looking at reviews in Consumers Reports, not been disappointed, yet

Great friendly service everything went smoothly
Puck up was easy no contact with anyone
RitaR –
I love my microwave. This one is smaller than my old one. Still learning all the features. Panasonic brands are pretty dependable.
ValleyTravels –
Nice machine. Good size and very powerful at 1250 watts. Not as intuitive to learn how to use for my senior mind. The sensor feature is probably great, but I’ve overcooked with it so far. Looks great and I’m sure we will figure it out soon.
DaddySZW –
Cooks evenly with plenty of power. Generally easy to use but would have preferred to have a number pad for setting time etc. Highly rated by a consumer magazine.
MikeD –
Big change from my 10-year old microwave this replaced. Much faster, easier to clean, and has a temperature feature that measures when food is cooked.
Quite pleased with this after almost 2 months.
Acorn –
Excellent choice. Well made and versatile. Slight learning curve. Would definitely recommend.
Grasshopper –
Having used the Genius Prestige Plus for more than a month to reheat left overs and heat frozen dinners, I love the sensor technology used to evenly cook my meals to perfection. The icon functions were amazingly easy to learn and use. It is by far the best microwave I have ever owned!
Nana –
Compact. Works really well. Had to get use to the different usage on this product, but over all I love it. I love Panasonic and most of my products are Panasonic.
DIYDude –
We’ve had it for a month and I’m happy to say we’ve finally got a microwave that heats evenly and never fails to please. So many features and cooking options … I’m embarrassed to say it is used primarily to reheat leftovers, which it does flawlessly. I did have to change the ArcFault/GFCI breaker out for a standard GFCI as the ArcFault was too sensitive and would trip every time we used this oven. Note this is a nearly dedicated 20A (12GA wire) circuit with just the fridge on the same circuit. The house is 35 years old when kitchen wiring had a few outlets per breaker.
BobandLaura –
Great microwave, we love it! Well-made and cooks evenly! Easyto use once you get the hang of it. Panasonic makes amazing microwaves, our old lasted for over 20 years before we had to replace it and so we bought another Panasonic.
NHGrandma –
I purchased this microwave 2 years ago and did like it until the removable square silver reflector sparked and burned.
I had to throw out that piece and amazingly enough it still works so I’m still using it. If I had young children in the house, I would not let them use it alone though for safety reasons. I’m checking to see if there was a recall on this. I have never had a microwave that did this.
GreatSamsungTV –
Best microwave we could find. So many settings that I do t even use them all. One touch cooking at all levels.
Shortlived –
was OK for 1 year. Now is dead.
My previous Panasonic was 100% functional after 40 years, but I wanted a smaller model and I bought into the hype about heating more evenly. Everything I buy now breaks after a couple years or less. It’s usually too expensive to fix, so the manufactures get to sell me dozens more during my lifetime. I guess they have no incentive to make a quality product, and probably have forgotten how.
Panasonic –
Our first Panasonic came damaged in the box but the replacement was on time and damage free. The Panasonic microwave is quite nice. We haven’t learned everything about it yet as its difficult to understand the directions so it will be some time before we become proficient. We are learning by trial and error. Cooking times are difficult to understand and how to use the timer.
walker –
The microwave had a dent in the back but it does appear that the performance is affected. I would recommend more packing material to avoid this issue. The entry of cooking time is a bit touchy and you can overshoot the desired time which requires backing down.
TT1234 –
Good Microwave but the Best Buy in home sales consultant did not measure correctly and the unit did not fit the opening.
cook55 –
The Panasonic microwave works great. Several useful features.Pa
Greatmachinebut –
I’m still in the process of learning how to use the functions and programming it for use, etc. My biggest two gripes about this model is the lack of a keypad to punch in the time and the overall size.
First, the slider buttons always end up over shooting the time I want and the same goes as far as going backwards to it. As for the “futuristic” and cryptic buttons, they’re easy enough to figure out.
Finally, I think it is bit “large” for a counter top MW. It needs to loose about two inch in depth, and width. This unit is replacing a competitor’s machine that was a bit smaller than this one and was perfect for my countertop. I needed to replace my old unit and due to the pandemic, I had to settle for what was in stock. Yes, this was my number two choice.
Owner –
This microwave performs way above my previous one. There are no numbers on it, so setting the clock and cook time can be tedious if in a hurry. It has some nice one button features, but they are picture coded which makes them difficult to decipher at times.
Even though it features buttons that will cook your food properly, we find that we use the 30 sec button since it’s a little faster. With foods with longer cook times, we have to hold down a button until it scrolls up to the needed cook time.
After two years of use, I have been able to adapt. I also printed from the manual an enlarged copy of the Codes with descriptions and placed them in my recipe notebook that I keep on the counter.
I have acclimated, so I am content and would recommend it due to quality of cooking; but I definitely would purchase one with number keys next time. It all depends on what you’re willing to put up with.
RockysMom –
This microwave was just too too big for us in our home and my hubby did not want it. He could not figure out how to use it compared to a smaller unit so we exchanged it for another.
AK330 –
Just received the microwave and am planning to return it. It’s way too complicated. I was dismayed when I realized that there are no numbers at all on the control panel. I should’ve paid more attention to the detailed photos and other reviews, rather than just the rating and description of the heating technology. Never occurred to me that a microwave might not have numbers. Sure, I could take the next year to rely on using the Owner’s Manual every time I want to cook something or eventually memorize that Sensor Cook menu option number 13 is for Canned Vegetables or that menu option is 9 is the mode for Frozen Pocket Sandwich (seriously?!) … but I really don’t need or want a microwave that requires that much focus to learn how to use it.

Very happy with this purchase from BestBuy and the sale price was good !
Heats food well and Itz pretty quiet compared to my old Elite Sears Kenmore microwave !
CPERONE –
This microwave is exquisite and exceptional. Though originally designed in 2015 (hopefully updated in some ways but I’m not sure) it seems way ahead of its time. Based on other reviews I will treat the door as my first Born child and not allow other humans to lay a hand on it. My hope is it will last forever and without question the universe owe’s my something like that.
John –
The overall quality and performance of our new microwave fully meet our expectations. We are struggling a bit to understand and effectively use the controls, but are doing very well as long as we use the simplest controls.
Disappointed –
We were going through a home remodel, and I bought the product in Dec 2020 but didn’t start using it until summer of 2021. It’s essentially new and worked great until it stopped and gave an error message (H97). My husband reset it and discovered on line that it’s an issue that would cost more to repair than replace. Not good, and this product was recommend by Consumer Reports.
homeside –
Consumer Reports top rated. Used price match guarantee with great customer service assistance. Haven’t had to purchase new microwave in 30 years. Did research and decided on this model. Easy to use, owners manual easy to read/understand and registered just in case. So far so good. Would recommend.
mchs –
Microwave is great! Heats food evenly, sensors are great for cooking, defrosting, reheating, etc. This is our second time getting this brand. The last one lasted 9 years of daily use. Hoping this one will be the same. The only complaint is the user interface. It is ok once you get used to it, but some text under the icons would have been nice. In terms of cooking and heating….. excellent.
Charliebee –
The trim kit didnt matxh with this microwave each side atleast 2 inxh
Unknown –
This is a really fantastic microwave, and has helped me transition away from treating the microwave as a dumb “cook for 30 seconds” appliance. My only complaint is the door doesn’t open every time you press the button, but total tech took care of that

Hey pals!
Quick shout-out to my latest kitchen pal, the Panasonic 1.6-Cu. Ft. Cyclonic Wave Microwave Oven. This isn’t your regular old nuke-box – it’s a total foodie’s dream!
Aesthetically, it’s a beaut. Stainless steel finish adds that modern edge to my kitchen, and the size is perfect – not too big, not too small.
But let’s talk about the real magic – the Cyclonic Wave and Inverter Technology. Sounds like fancy science stuff, and well, it is! It heats food evenly, and let me tell you, it’s a game changer. No more cold spots in my reheated leftovers or quick meals.
The auto-cook menu is pretty sweet too. Popcorn, pizza, veggies – it’s got you covered. And the food comes out cooked just right.
One more thing – it’s super quiet. I can barely hear it running, which is a big plus in my book.
In a nutshell, this Panasonic microwave’s made my life easier and tastier. If you’re on the hunt for a new microwave, give this one a shot.
Microwave master signing off. Happy zapping, everyone!
Georeview –
Efficiently sized Microwave Oven – heats food evenly by operation with intuitively designed touch controls.
Solidocelot –
The wife and I really approve of this technological upgrade for the household. I know inverter tech isn’t new for consumers, but it is for us. I feel like I’m dreaming when I take food out and don’t have to stir it just to put it back in the microwave. One trip and the food is done. I enjoy the absence of the numbers and it makes my old house feel a bit up to date. There was some questionable workmanship (slight cosmetics that I wouldn’t bother returning for) but other than that, this microwave is just about perfect.
VickiZ –
while this is a countertop microwave, it is to replace my old one which is installed in a cabinet with a trim kit I was able to order a trim kit and it looks like a custom install.
JamesG –
So far, a very good unit. More powerful than my previous one. One drawback is the controls are like hieroglyphics. You have to open the door and refer to the key to know what the controls mean.
soidermanonu –
I like the slick and easy to clean microwave. The controls were just a little bit to get used too, but once I did, I really like it, very happy with my purchase!!
