Straight up – using this blender is fun!
Even the box the blender comes packaged in, was colorful and fun. There are two simple and basic recipes on the box itself – one for Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto, and one for a Rainforest Smoothie. The easy-to-follow instructions with ‘order of blender jar assembly’, ‘order of ingredients’, ‘guide to manual speeds’, and ‘easy cleaning tips’ are printed right there on the inner flaps of the box, too. Plus, there’s a handy user guide and helpful tips sheet included.
The motor base unit is lighter than I’d have expected, though the base sits stable on the counter and stays put during a blending cycle. The 6-cup Boroclass glass jar is nice and thick, definitely well made. Word of caution – the blades are very very sharp! Seriously sharp. Do take great care when cleaning. Seriously!
Following the standard directions for how much of each ingredient, and most importantly, the particular order to put the ingredients into the blender, is vital to pay attention to so that the blender can perform optimally and you get the best results.
What’s particularly cool about this Oster blender is the auto-programmed ‘Smoothie’ and ‘Salsa’ buttons. Of course, there’s also the usual manual blend settings – low, medium, and high – along with the pulse function.
Once I’d washed all the blender parts, prior to my initial use, the smoothie I first made was almost perfect. Just needed a bit of tweaking next time. Then I tried a shake, which turned out better. Delish! The husband will enjoy making his own homemade recipe for salsa.
As for how loud the blender is when it’s working, this model Oster sounds average in loudness level; actually I’d say a bit less grindy sounding. The vibration of the blender on the counter isn’t that bad either, compared to other blenders I’ve used.
The only real ‘cons’ I can mention, is one … the Blend-n-Go cup is “underwhelming” and its lid is kinda hard to open. Which I guess is good, sorta, as that should prevent the lid from popping open easily so the contents spill or leak out if the cup gets tipped over. And two … the filler ‘cap’ for the jar lid is really, really cheaply made. I’m certain it would break or chip if dropped, and probably won’t last for the life of the blender.
Overall, this Oster blender is a good value for its cost. It’s a solid machine, and the basic features are there. Recommend.

Perfect size blend-n-go cup. Used it for a few smoothies and seems to have plenty of power for whatever you throw at it.

The Oster – Oster® 2-in-1 Blender System with Blend-n-Go™ Cup is awesome! I love the design, the ease of use and the results are just phenomenal. The unit is super easy to use. Blend your favorite vegetables, ice, and other ingredients with ease into a delicious drink or soup in no time. The automatic functions are a huge time saver and they get it right. For example, the salsa function is outstanding! Blends the tomatoes, spices, etc to perfection. Not too thick, and not extremely soupy. I love it.
The unit is easy to clean which makes maintenance a breeze. This blender looks great in my bar area. Extremely excited to keep using it and I know it will be around for a long time to come thanks to the durable design.
I highly recommend the Oster – Oster® 2-in-1 Blender System with Blend-n-Go™ Cup and 800-Watt Motor – Gray.

The Oster® 2-in-1 Blender System with Blend-n-Go™ Cup and 800-Watt Motor is pretty much what I would expect from Oster for a basic blender in this price range.
Easy to use and does a good job with most normal jobs. Like others, I’d prefer not to have to move the blade between the 2 containers. The fact that it is so light makes it much easier to bring down from the shelf or up from the cabinet. And its power is clearly beyond what you expect from it’s weight.
Here’s my wife take: “Oster: the gray tone is pleasant to look at sitting on my counter—not as “Darth Vader” looking as the black heavy blenders to which I am accustomed. It’s very light weight, which means it’s definitely a “go to” item for everyday use. In fact, It is so light weight, I was skeptical of its ability to actually do much real work. But it surprised me by smoothing my smoothie in quick time. It’s a great blender, for a good price.”

Great 2 in 1 blender. You can use the regular glass (yes, it is glass) container for more elaborate blendings like salsas, cooking or if you just want to have a big jar of juice. The glass is thick and of very good quality. You attach the blades at the bottom (be very careful, they are extremely sharp!) and then lock it into place in the base. The jar has a lid with an opening to pour ingredients without making a mess.
Speaking of the base, its very sturdy and heavy enough that won’t be moving around your counter top. I love the illuminated buttons, they are press sensitive and have auto settings for smoothies and salsa. There is also one button with a cardiac pulse symbol, this is your pulse setting (great logo). There is also a low, medium and high setting. Only con is that there is no count down function or timer on it, you just have to keep an eye.
They also include a 20z bottle where you can make quick smoothies, right into it. You just pop the blades and the o ring into it and then screw the black base into it, then pop it right back (upside down) into the base and make your smoothie of your preference, there will be no spill when finishing and turning it up side, as everything is perfectly tight and screwed down. They include a nice lid for it for easy drinking on the go!
I highly recommend this 2 in 1 blender to anyone looking to save money and start making cheap and delicious smoothies (or salsas!) on the go, the blades are extremely sharp and nothing will get in their way, I made one myself with ice cubes on top and it crushed them like they were just paper, delicious!

The Oster – Oster® 2-in-1 Blender System with Blend-n-Go™ Cup and 800-Watt Motor – Gray provides power for all your blending needs while doing it at a budget price. No need to look to the fancy brands or gimmicks to get your task done. The Blender system gives you the traditional blender while adding a blender cup, similar to their competitors for on-the-go smoothies, or other blend.
While I found this product powerful, it definitely lacks the style and design of more premium brands. It got the job done, but looks and feels a bit “plasticy.”
PROS
– Oster brand and design
– 800 watts of blending power
– To-Go Cup or traditional blender
– Cost-effective
CONS
– Feels on the cheap side, but will still get the job done.

This Oster 800w 2-in-1 blender system totally does the job for my needs. This unit is way smaller than the huge $200 blenders and I appreciate its smaller size. It takes only a small amount of storage space and due to its lighter weight, it’s very easy to put up in the cupboard.
This blender has enough power to complete the blending jobs I want from it. The glass blender jar is narrow at the bottom so liquids and soft fruits or veggies should go in first especially when blending ice. This does a great job, simply. Only 2 pre-programmed cycles – salsa and smoothie, which may or may not make them to your desired texture. I like to finish my blends to my liking manually. With the high, medium, low and pulse settings, I can personalize my blend jobs.
It does come with a 20 oz Blend-n-Go cup but I have to transfer the blades to the top of the cup and I don’t want to add more risk of cutting myself with the extremely sharp blades so I may use the cup for drinking only, not for blending.
Oster truly stands behind this product with a 3 year limited warranty on parts AND labor. That’s great.
I like the basic, uncomplicated simplicity of this blender. I like the size and light weight, and the ample power. I would recommend this blender especially for your smaller blend jobs.

If you honestly don’t know or care what the difference is between something blended on ‘3’ vs something blended on ‘5’ with one of those fancy multi-speed/multi-program food processors, or you just need your ingredients pulverized or liquefied so you can get on with your life, this is a great blender for you. The 800 watt motor offers reasonably powerful blending capability though the entire unit is a bit on the lighter side–ours danced around the countertop just a bit during the smoothie cycle, and slowly skittered across the surface when left on continuous blend. The four blending blades are arranged in opposing pairs (2 up/2 down) and did a great job chewing through ice and solidly frozen fruits without needing to run for minutes on end to get after the last little chunks and hunks.
Controls and readouts are mercifully simple; a power button glows blue when the unit is turned on, and another indicator glows blue when one of the auto-program cycles are running. There are buttons for three constant speed settings: low, medium, and high; and a pulse button for when a constant blend setting would just leave your ingredients spinning wildly above the blades. The blender also features two auto-program buttons, one for a smoothie and one for salsas, each of which offers automatic blend cycles that combine various combinations of blade speed and spin duration to mix the ingredients, let them settle in the container briefly, then restart to chop/blend some more. Note that the cycles don’t stop automatically so it’s not a completely unattended affair–the smoothie cycle, for instance, pulsed for a bit, stopped, pulsed a bit longer, stopped, pulsed once again, then spun up to a constant blend until we had to manually stop the motor with the power button.
The 6 cup pitcher is glass rather than plastic and has some reassuring heft to it. It is dramatically tapered at the bottom to help ensure that all the ingredients eventually meet their doom at the hands of the spinning blades at the bottom. A center-feed cap in the lid also allows you to add ingredients while the blender is running. The included 20oz Blend-n-Go tumbler is just slightly translucent (rather than crystal clear) plastic; it’s pretty standard fare, though I’m not entirely wild about the design. The tumbler’s mouth is significantly smaller than its very wide and very flat shoulders, which means cleanup is slightly more of a challenge because you have to bend a brush or sponge around the inside of the mouth to fully clean all the interior surfaces.
Once the tumbler’s flip-top is in place, the opening is really only designed for a straw because it’s too small for anything but very VERY thin liquids to be getting through on their own…trying to coax a thicker smoothie out through such a small opening using gravity alone is an exercise in futility. Note that the entire top, rather than a smaller flip-up seal just large enough to cover the opening for the straw, flips open–this makes the tumbler a little awkward to tote around because you’ve always got this massive black flip-top hanging open and out beyond the edges of the lid.
The only other design issue of note is that unlike many other modern blenders we’ve used, this one separates the jar nut, blade assembly, and sealing ring into three separate pieces. I’m not entirely sure what prompted this decision because it makes for more parts to keep track of during cleanup and assembly, and it’s definitely a little more awkward when removing the jar nut, blending blades, and the sealing ring separately from the Blend-and-Go tumbler after flipping it back over so you can screw on the lid. The metal disc the blades are mounted to isn’t quite as thin as the top of an aluminum can so I doubt you’ll cut yourself on the edges during cleaning or assembly, but it’s not *that* much thicker, either. Again, however, for basic blending needs, this 2-in-1 definitely gets the job done and doesn’t overwhelm you with a lot of additional options or program settings that you may well never use or need.

This is a solid blender doing solid blender things. Out of the box the blender is not exactly eye candy on my countertop. The material and build make up for the aesthetics though. This device feels like it will last for years to come. The base is made from metal and plastic and jars are thick glass. The blender is loud but extraordinarily strong so reverently so. This unit can easily crush thick ice cubes, fruits, and vegetables. The availably to blend a “To-Go” smoothie / drink is always a plus. Hooking in this tumbler was easy and no mess.
I have tested several blenders over the years, and it really always comes down to does it blend and will it blend well, this one does both!
BigA –
I was pleasantly surprised with the power and speed of this blender. Typically they do not perform at an acceptable level but this one worked great. The preprogrammed setting work about Luke all the other on the market – not great but will get you most of the way

Simple and clean and easy to use! I like how it’s a quality product and doesn’t feel cheap and plasticky. Blends really well and gives you a nice and smooth smoothie. I haven’t tried milkshakes yet but I’m looking forward to it. Makes a great affordable gift especially since it’s on sale now too!

Love this blender! Great price point and durable. I bought it to make my morning smoothie. I was looking for one with glass construction and this has it. Oster is a company that has been around for a long time. Also included in the purchase is a convienent cup to take your smoothie on the go.

Great blender. But it is very loud. The screw bottom can be difficult to lock and liquid can spill. Must make sure bottom is screwed on properly..
