    The product does have the advantage that you can program it using an available app for your phone. This does make programming possible to the specific system that you have. The issue that is something that cannot be fixed is the lack of a backlight. If you’re trying to use it in the dark which is not an uncommon situation when you’re watching TV at night, you need to turn a light on to be able to see what you’re doing.

    It seems like it’ll do all I would want…there’s one problem, we can’t get the cover off to put in the batteries. It should just slide off but it won’t. 3 different adults have tried and it won’t come off. I’m pushing on it so hard and squeezing so hard I’m worried I’m gonna break it! If I get past this I’ll update review (if possible)

    Works fine. Wish it was backlit and the programming is a pain. The description online said it could be set up using a smartphone app, which is why I bought it. I have not found that to be true.

    I bought this to help my mother use her Roku. I had tried writing down the instructions which did not work. I then tried taking photographs of exactly what to do along with instructions, which also did not work. I even created a video for her to watch on her cell phone but even that was not enough.
    My last bet was finding a ‘smart’ remote to do the work for her. When I learned Logitech no longer made their remote controls I turned to this. For the price, I wasn’t expecting much, but I was very pleasantly surprised.
    I connected the remote to the 3 devices necessary, in this case the TV, stereo & Roku, and programmed in a command to power on the stereo, change the TV input to the correct channel and power up and control the Roku. I then put in a command on another key to do just the opposite so she could get back to watching her regular programming when she was done with the Roku.
    It worked so well I purchased 1 for myself to reduce the clutter that comes with a remote for each device.

    Good enough to replace my cable remote. Still haven’t got the combination programming to work so I still need to toggle between devices (TV, STB (cable box), and Blu Ray player but at least it just using this remote for all three. I had to use all three remotes with the original cable remote anyways.

    I ended up ordering a Harmony remote off Amazon for a lot more money. They’re discontinued so the one I got is probably the last one I’ll have. Might have been okay with this universal but I returned it unopened to the store. I saw a lot of neg reviews for this one which was another reason for my return.

    I purchased this because the Logitech Harmony remote I had dies and Harmony remotes are no longer made. I would have liked to give this a 4 or 5 star rating, but having used it for a few months, I have found a few of its design characteristics to be very annoying.

    It was not too difficult to set up, especially since there are a variety of options available for setup. While some functions requied some experimentation to get it to control in certain ways, it was possible to do most of them.

    There are two major problems with its design:

    First, the buttons do not light up when you are using it, making it difficult to see what you are doing without good lighting. Since a major use of this would involve watching TV, you are more likely to be using it in a darker room (at least at night).

    Second, and this is a major flaw, the layout of the buttons/controls is poorly done. The number buttons group is near the top, even though they are not used as frequently, while the TV control (channel scan/volume, major TV options) are at the bottom, and are small buttons. To use them you have to hold the bottom half of the control, making it more difficult to easily control the various TV etc functions.

    If Oneforall had basically switched the locations of the top and bottom sets of controls as well as lighting them up when in use, I would have given it a 5 start rating.

    Yes, we continue to use it, but frequently get frustrated with the layout and lack of lighting.

    Price, howere, is reasonable.

    This company has the BEST support I have had in years. Bought a different remote that I had to return, this remote workes great and this company called me several times going above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. Haven’t had this great of customer service in 20 years!

    Since Logitech remotes are a thing of the past, I got this one to try and set up my bedroom equipment. It’s a pain to program and it lacks a lot of codes. I returned.

    I am returning this. I wanted it to control 3 devices – a HIsense TV, a Denon Receiver and an Apple TV unit. I got it to work with the TV immediately. The Apple TV mostly worked but would not power-on which was annoying. I got it to work with my Denon for power on/off but it does not appear able to select input and I could not get “activities” (control multiple devices with one button) to work at all. So not much value since I still need to use 3 remotes together.

    Eats through AAA batteries constantly. Terri’s to sell itself as a smart remote but is just tore standard universal remote. There’s way cheaper options out there for that. Works fine for me with 4 different sources I have. Wouldn’t be so bad of it at least had rechargeable battery inside it.

    Unlike some people that are unhappy with this remote, my wife and I absolutely love it. I found no need to use an app to program it. I followed the directions that came with it. I use it on an LG TV, Roku streaming device, Xfinity cable box, a Samsung soundbar and a Sony BD player. All of my devices work just fine. The macros for watching TV or streaming content both work. Since my Roku is on a different input source than my cable box, I use the “input” button to switch back and forth. Any universal remote I’ve used has been somewhat clumsy to set up, this one is pretty straight forward. I have a Logitech Harmony Elite in my home theater room, and I’m hoping it will just keep on working. While this remote isn’t on par with a remote at that level, it woks fine for most applications. I would say with Logitech out of the remote business, this is a descent alternative.

    Love the clicky buttons. It’s great to be able to merge the controls for different devices into one setting. I wish I could find a universal remote with a microphone though
