  1. KeepSmiling

Much sharper than the previous last 2 versions very well balanced easy to work with Colors are crisp and clean no major flaring when working in back light situations just over all a really great improvement

  2. Lens

Love it. Would recommend to anyone who wants a good product. Very satisfied with my purchase.

  3. JonG

I call this the magic lens. The quality is great. So many uses to enjoy. The go to lens.

  4. JoelH

This is an amazing piece of equipment. I love using this lens over my older 80-200. The zoom ring makes it much easier to use and there are multiple programable buttons. The tripod mount is a positive and is easily removable if you find it easier workin with out it. This is clearly one of the sharpest lenses I have ever used and the clarity at 2.8 is fantastic. It is very highly recommended.

  5. NikonUser

Very sharp, focus is on point. Definitely will take your photography to the next level. It is certainly a Must Have!

  6. raider

It is by far the best 20-200 on the market for Nikon DSLR Cameas.
it is sharp fast focusing and acurate

  7. Rsox

Nice improvement from the last version. Autofocus is fast and spit on. Tack spark images every time.

  8. AGEO

This lens is so sharp and a great addition to my wedding kit.

  9. Underdog

Fantastic lens. I’ve been wanting to get this one for a few years now. The price that BB had was great!

  10. DGB2

Bought for my wife for her birthday, she acted like I gave her a child. Like she told me you are only as good as your tools. She hasn’t used yet but based on previous reviews I don’t think she’ll be disappointed.

  11. Arquien

This lens is sharp, fast, and capable of whatever you use it for.
The only complaint I have would be that it can sometimes be tougher to find compositions that call for a 70-200mm lens.

  12. bearcat1986

Bought this to compliment my Nikon – AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR Wide-Angle Zoom Lens and a Nikon D850. I’ve used a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR AF-S 28-300 mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR as general all purpose lens but struggled with it taking pictures at poorly lit sporting events. This lens has changed that for me. Not only does it take excellent pictures in low light conditions, but the autofocus and VR are much better. With the additional clarity in the photos, I don’t mind losing the additional focal length since I can crop the photos more to zoom into my intended subject.

  13. PMarz

One of the best lenses of the Nikon fleet until the Z series came along. Fantastic glass and extremely well-made.

  14. Peaches

I am very pleased with the lens. It is lighter than the third party lenses. The zoom is smooth. The fn buttons on the lens are really nice. The lens body finish is high quality. It costs more then 3rd party but I was able to see a difference in quality. With respect to picture quality, there are many online reviews on line.

  15. Trig27

This is a great lens. It takes sharp pictures and does very well in low light conditions

  16. ChristmasShopper

100% recommend this high-quality, fast lens. I love it!!

  17. creativity6

This lens has quickly become a favorite. While pretty heavy, the images this lens captures are absolutely amazing!

  18. nepeppermintpatty

Lens is heavy. Need time to study lens. Nikon quality.

  19. DanL

Fantastic lens. Purchased this for my wife and she loves it!

  20. Cherry

    Amazing lens! Highly recommended!
This is one of the best lens

  21. BrookeC

Upside: Favorite lens….by far delivers my favorite boca look.
Downside: Since moving to VR2 I have had more issues in lens failure and repair. The old adage was that glass lasts forever but the mechanics of these Nikon lens 70-200 and 24-70 has been quite a bit of sending back for motor issues and ultimately just buying new copies (we shoot high volume and prefer to just replace)

  22. Jeff

Very impressed with this lens, just what I was expecting!

  23. Helpinghand

Great telephoto lens for capturing distance animals.

  24. kefr

Absolutely love the zoom in of this lens…capturing nature at its finest!

  25. Mary

I love, love this Zoom Lens!
It’s great for Sports & also for anything
you’d like to shoot with a Zoom Lens Outside!
I did photos of an Outdoor Graduation with 1000 Graduates! The photos turned out great !

  26. Javi

Love this lens! If you’re serious about your photography then you must buy this!

  27. zolotoivek

The 70-200mm lens is considered part of the “Holy Trinity” that should be on the kit of any serious photographer. I have a Nikon D850, which demands high-quality potential to bring out its full quality. The Nikkor is considered an industry leader and did not disappoint. Focus is quick and tack-sharp. Tamron and Sigma also make nice glass, but after using this Nikkor I personally think the extra cost is justified.

  28. Daniel

I had been waiting for a price drop on this lens for quite awhile. When it finally went on sale a few weeks ago I decided to pull the trigger. I wish I hadn’t waited so long. Wow. Incredible soft, creamy bokeh and beautiful, accurate colors. It is everything I’ve heard and read about it. This is an amazing lens.

  29. USofA

I love this lens because it really helps in taking great photographs.

  30. Spring

The Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 is the sharpest lens I have. If you want superb results for your photography get this lens. You won’t be sorry!

  31. Tk4007

The right lens at the right length. Great for vacation to give you that little extra reach.

  32. KnobMoney

I use this lens primarily for motorsports photography. The F2.8 speed is WORTH EVERY PENNY! This lens performs well at night and in the day. It is spectacular for wild life photography too. It holds up well in a light drizzle without letting water in.

Make sure your tripod head is beefy enough to hold up the weight of this lens. It’s the size of a 1L nalgene bottle. Without equipment rated to handle the weight it wlll fail. It’s good to use this lens with a monopod to save your hands, shoulder, and back from strain of repeatedly bringing this lens to your eye hundreds of times a day.

I can’t wait to slap a 2X teleconverter on this for the 2024 solar eclipse.

  33. BenedictS

This lens is awesome. Very easy to use. And brings you close to the action. I am not a professional photographer, but everyone thinks I am because of this lens. The pictures come out beautiful and I get many compliments from the team.

  34. Brian

Fabulous lens. Have used it for a year now, shooting mainly high school sports and occasional wildlife, paired with my D500. Sharpness is fabulous, and performance in poor light is far superior to other (higher f/) lenses I’ve had in the past. Even with the DX format camera, still long for some extra reach when the action moves to the far side of the soccer field. I’ve coupled it with the Nikon 1.4x teleconverter (AF-S TC-14E III) which helps, at the cost of some light and a bit of loss of clarity. I think the latter, however, just points to how excellent this lens is on its own. Super happy with it — heartily recommend.

Do not buy from best buy online. I ordered a 2k camera lens with enough time to get it for christmas (it is a gift for someone) It came on the 22nd in a sealed shipping box. The nikon box inside was not sealed and contained a different much smaller nikon lens that obviously did not fit in the foam packing and anybody would be able to tell did not belong in that box. No documentation in the box as well. Somebody obviously swiched the lens back at the warehouse or store whatever. The person packaging a 2k lens should have made sure it contained the proper lens!
Ok things happen, i get it, the reason im so angry is trying to get the right lens shipped since the 22nd. It has been the most frustrating experience dealing with a retail store ever. Hours waiting for someone to pick up or start chatting. Numerous transferred calls after explaining the problem. The chat was like i was speaking a different language.
Got a return label sent, item reordered and they promised it on the 28th- best they can do. I have called every business day since because the item was not showing as shipped and I was told every time that it will be there the 28th and also that it has shipped. Altered my plans for the 28th to sign for package and now it’s the 28th and i just got the delayed shipping email “working on shipping” message. Called again and got nowhere other then my “case” is being expidited and i should get an email within 24hrs. Funny how website shows i can order it and recieve it tomorrow or pick up in store in a few days
    complete incompetence.

  36. alabamajorge

This is without a doubt the sharpest highest quality Nikon lens I have ever owned.

  37. Lopezphotography

This is an incredible lens for taking your photography skills into the next level. The quality of this lens gives you the tools you were looking for to create an amazing portraits and action pictures. Absolutely recommended !!

  38. Harlan

A great lens. It will be in my bag going forward. Very sharp and fast

  39. SusanH

Great lens great buy at Best Buy, got it on 12 months no interest payments!

  40. TobiasR

Great lens works great, the lens is heavy but worth it.

  41. zeusorion

Great lense. Pictures are amazing, clear, great lighting.

  42. JamesD

Great.Sharp. Fast focus. Works as expected and delivers great shots.

  43. Tracydez

This lens is very heavy hard to hold. Hoping this will get better with practice.

  44. Insider

I’ve been saving for a while to purchase this lens. It has always been on my want list. I have owned multiple Nikon DSLRs and have always wanted to pair one with the 70-200 2.8. This version has been great to use with my D750. Some say they dont like the zoom ring on the far end, but I dont mind it. Its beefy, but thats what you get with a zoom and f2.8. Tracks well and the VR is a must for sports inside gymnasiums. I got it on sale ($450 off) and I think its a great value under $2000. At the regular price of $2349, its an OK value. Still, if you’re serious, you should have a 2.8 zoom. I also looked at the 70-200 2.8 offerings from the major 3rd party supporters (S & T) and still decided to spend the money for the gold ring. Haven’t regretted it.

  45. HOMEY

Outstanding lens. Nikon hit the ball out of ball park with this baby.

  46. PhotoNinja

Everyone asks me what lens I use, since my pictures during the day, and at night are such good quality. Would definitely recommend gor anyone shooting sports and needing a lens for low light conditions.

  47. recon409

Nice all around lens. Great for low light sports photography. Not too heavy for its size.

  48. AngeloB

    Great Len’s
    Have the Nikon D850 & D750
    Pictures come crisp and sharp
    Fast auto focus

  49. Anshil

Nikon 70-200 F2.8 is my everyday go to lens and it’s a must have beauty. The images are crisp and I use it for action, portraits and landscape photography. Works amazing in the low light and would recommend this blindly to anyone.

  50. Paul

This is a great lens, but it has one annoying tick: the focus and zoom rings are reversed.
If you’ve got the previous 70-200mm lens, this will drive you nuts for a while. If not, don’t sweat the difference. Not sure why Nikon decided to flip things around.
