Great product. Once installed made all connected devices work much better. When installing Nighthawk Xfinity said we could not use this device because it was already used. In their system.. The Netgear. Rep got on the phone with me and Xfinity and told them it was new and never been used. Idiots at Xfinity suggested I return it. After 4 calls to Xfinity and over 5 hours they were finally able to add it to their system. Would have been extremely easy to setup if it were not for the numb skulls at Xfinity.

Huge improvement over our last cable modem. It’s fast, all the features actually work. Our last modem had parent control features that didn’t work. I haven’t had to reboot this modem often either, much more reliable.

Worked for a week, then started dropping connection every half-hour to an hour. Drops caused by T3 and T4 errors. Netgear blames Xfinity, Xfinity says everything is fine on their end. I have a different modem that doesn’t drop, so troubleshooting says Xfinity wins and I never buy another Netgear product again.

Garbage. I don’t know if it’s the device alone or the device paired with Xfinity, but it only works like it’s supposed to 25% of the time. The remainder is either slow, buffering, or totally out like right now. Support won’t help unless you subscribe, which we reluctantly did. Still doesn’t work. I’m so fed up what a waste of money.

I upgraded to this after trying the arris g36. I was worried at first as it kept dropping speeds with me resetting. After contacting netgear they updated the firmware. All is well now. Also, avoid the armor protection. It automatically activated and messes things up. Im sure uts a good protection but if you have in place already not needed. On another note, netgear has excellent customer support.

After years of procrastinating getting rid of phone and cable , I discontinued these services and kept Xfinity Connect More plan. Installation was not hard after installing the Netgear Nighthawk app and calling Xfinity (1-800-COMCAST) and working with their phone support(very nice lady-not from around here). I thought something was wrong with my service when finished with Xfinity, but then needed to go back to Netgear Nighthawk app and complete the connection and then change all devices to the 5G band. After installation the 200 speed internet in the less expensive Xfinity service was much faster than my old service. I can still change to speeds up to 800-1000 with this modem-router and a different Xfinity plan.

This is just what we needed for a whole-house, Wi-Fi modem router. It works great for streaming on all our six devices and reaches every floor from the basement to the attic of our 1924, 4-bedroom, American Four-Square home. Installation was a bit wonky until I called NetGear. They made it a snap and it’s been gravy ever since.
