Works perfect, no complaints. Easy setup with the app.

Nice upgrade from my previous modem. Fast, easy to setup.

Excelent product, easy setup. The price is reasonable

My old modem was dropping out and reloading intermittently. A friend recommended this to be my replacement. It has solved all my problems. Super easy to setup and get online. I only run 500 meg internet but for the stability of this, it is well worth it.
DarrylP –
Returned all of my cable company equipment and have not had a problem since love my router
JohnH –
This modem has provided a steady connection to the ISP and my lag has reduced dramitically when compared to the modem from spectrum. This was easy to setup and requires no additional configuration.

You will need this modem for Cox Gigablast internet and it’s the best modem you can buy!!

I purchased this March 5th 2023 and it worked fine until November 2023 and it’s been freezing up or dropping internet connection on all devices in the house I found myself having to reset the modem like every hour and sometimes it would work and sometimes having to reset multiple times So I decided to purchase a different brand modem instead of another Netgear called my service provider to add the new modem and so far so good it’s a bummer to have to spend 228.00 for it to go out in 8 months. Probably just a bad unit but I probably will stay away from this brand.

The model ran well for 4 months, then began having problems connecting to my service provider and the Netgear router I had connected. After having two technicians come out and checked my provider’s wire and speed upto entering my house, tracing the problem to the modem or router. A call to Netgear was unsatisfactory. I replaced both and my speed and connectivity was never better.

Got this modem in March 2023, and it worked great until it decided to quit working in mid-October the same year. It died only in 7.5 months. Drop signals. Slow connection. I need to reboot the modem, router & computer every hour or so to see if it helps. and of course, it didn’t help. I would have picked a different modem if I knew how much time it took me to deal with this problem.
After failing to resolve the problem on my end, I reached out to my ISP (Comcast) and they sent a technician to check on everything and confirmed there’s no connection issue. They also helped me factory reset the Netgear modem to see if that takes care of the issue. Unfortunately, it didn’t resolve the issue. Comcast then determined it was the Netgear modem problem, and replaced it with an Xfinity modem. Problem solved, and no internet issue within the 1 month period I had with the Xfinity modem.
Since it’s only 7.5 months since I got the device, and Netgear said they offer 1 year hardware warranty, I decided to give the Netgear modem another try. I reactivated the Netgear modem with Comcast, and the modem was fully provisioned. It worked for a few hours & it failed to do its job again. After confirming it was the Netgear modem issue, I called Netgear, and the nightmare began.
NETGEAR warranty/ support team made it as hard as it possibly can be so you will be just so frustrated to stay on the phone with them & hopefully you will just keep the defective item. The first Netgear specialist I talked to didn’t perform any checking at all & directed me to contact my router manufacturer (eero) claiming this was not Netgear’s issue. After jumping through hoops, calling eero & comcast to confirm there’s no issue on their end, I called Netgear again to resolve this issue. After multiple phone calls & hours (UNBELIEVABLE & UNACCEPTABLE) on the phone with Netgear, they finally issued an RMA to replace the defective modem. You will need to pay to return the defective item on your own, or you pay Netgear $17-$30 for them to send you a replacement with the return label. There is no option to return the product for a refund. The replacement modem has been doing fine now for a week. I am not confident how long it will last. Netgear will NOT extend another 1-year warranty on the replacement device. That means I will be stuck with an expensive junk if it fails in the next 3 months.
I am so sorry for this long review. But if you read my story, stay away from Netgear. Save yourself some headaches.

Great product. Highly recommend. I just hope the next model supports up to 1GB of data

Needed a new modem and this Netgear modem works great
ChristopherB –
I was debating on getting this or something different. The customer service was great I gave a price range and they helped so it wouldn’t exceed. I ended up getting this since they were very honest for what I needed it for very good item my connection was always getting cut off when I was gaming. This helped out a lot I have some lag but that’s because of my provider very minimal to not very noticeable. If multiple people are on at the same time it won’t drop in performance. It does the job for me at least for the reasons I needed it for.

This modem is definitely worth the price. Mine works great. My buddy had me pick him up one this winter because his modem was having problems and this one helped but it was the wiring in the apartment so he had me return it by I still think a great product
Knightshift –
I have been whining for so many years how slow my internet (between20-30mbps) was despite having a relatively recent wifi5 router and 100mbps download speed from my ISP. I haven’t realized the culprit was my OLD cable modem whose maximum download speed was 30 mbps!! This modem brought it to 100!! 10 stars all around!
yangy316 –
Modem was great! Although I don’t need it anymore and has become just an really expensive paper weight ever since I switched from Xfinity to Sonic. Before switching to Sonic though, the modem ran well and was easy to set up. Had no issues with it.
DanielR –
Nice unit and works great with MIDCO. Very reasonable price with ease of setup installation. Will be necessary with new MIDCO system happening in the near future.
user188915 –
Modem works great once it is setup. Setup required powering the modem and router off and on several times but was not too difficult. You would think that since they are both Netgear nighthawk that they would communicate from the start without cycling power.
StevenC –
Easy to install. Provides powerful and reliable internet access.
Z06Frank –
I set up WAN Aggregation with my Asus AX router and working like a charm
TechLord69 –

After discussion with a sales associate, I chose this device based on features we wanted and the ease of set up.
ThomasM –
So far this purchase is performing as expected. Whether it continues to do so remains to be seen.
VictorL –
A little slow/weak coverage for my 2,400 sqft home. I have wifi cameras and some other devices. Its 2 bars but then again where its located is not centered
James –
Good quality fast set up, no issues so far. Compatible with Cox
BMicale –
Had an Arris G36 surfboard and due to Comcast’s recent security changes it had issues staying connected. I opted for this and it is nothing short of amazing. If you have Xfinity Gigabit service you need this modem cupled with their Nighthawk Router.
JustinC –
Great product, As advertised. Gives you greater control and ease of use, with increase in performance. Very easy set up, even for non tech savvy people.
Joelle –
Best thing i bought for my internet! Internet runs smoothly with no interruptions! I have 3 kids who game and absolutely love this router!
AndrewD –
This modem is the last netgear product ill purchase. The modem itself has many flaws, a quick google search shows these things die in a year or less, and to those thinking oh theres a years warrenty, thats a full on lie. The products warrentied for a year but to get serviced has to be in 30 DAYS, otherwise to get the modem serviced youll have to pay 210$ to netgear for the gearhead support, to make a simple warrenty claim. Phone supports also complete trash. This is rediculous and on all netgear products. Do yourself a favor, burn your netgear products and get a moterola mb8600 instead. Save yourself the headache and do your research.

We had problems getting the equipment to work with Xfinity’s signal. We received a message that they had identified and corrected the problem that we were experiencing. Since that time, our internet service has been working.
Fallen33 –
I got this cable modem to replace xfinity’s cable modem. It will save me $16 a month and will pay for itself in less than a year with a gift and sale price. Works great can’t tell the difference.

Works Great! Im hapoy with it. It is operati g as advertised.
GuillermoF –
It’s the best product I used in a while I really recommend it
TJFXX –
I wanted to upgrade my modem so that I could remove the one provided by my Internet service provider and increase my network speeds with my router. This was a great choice and was fairly easy to setup! I haven’t had any issues while gaming since the switch.

Purchased Dec 2021 from the Bestbuy store for about $150.
It’s Jan 2024 and it died .
During my ownership.. lagging connection, reboots severals times in the 2 years owning it.
Only reason I got this one is bc it was a router/ modem combo. It connect my google extended quick.
I’m currently looking for a new combo..
Won’t be getting this one again!

It’s a Nighthawk……it is one of the best brands and models around. Luckily I have the CM1000 that didn’t need to be replaced.
