This Netgear model does not communicate well with Motorola MT 8733 modem + router with Xfinity cable. It is a software issue, not a hardware problem. Solved by eero system.

I got this to boost signal to outdoor cameras and the performance is extremely impressive. Very easy to set up, especially if you already have the nighthawk app for your router. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because the cost is very high compared to some alternatives. If you want the best, this is it.

It was easy to set up and could be moved anywhere once setup was completed. Goes network more range and allows you to have 4 nearby wired components for older items like tvs or older blue ray players

After moving office upstairs and about 1,500 ft away from our ATT router we needed a stronger signal and ethernet connection without calling the utility company. This product provided both. Setup was simple – all through an app. Just read instructions as you must be connected to Netgear’s network prior to setup. Highly recommend!

I received the product and the installation to my network was exactly as advertised. It was easy to accomplish. The unit extended the signal as I was led to believe. I have nothing negative or “constructive” to offer. The staff at the store suggested this item to solve a signal strength issue and they were correct

After falsely suspecting issues with our new Vizio TV, it was a failed network connection from the beginning. A hidden modem/router in our closet (new construction) was guilty of obstructing the network signal. Following a Geek Squad tech visit, a single wall between our new TV and Wi-Fi box was responsible for the weak signal. We then turned to the Best Buy sales associate who identified the problem, saying we probably need a signal booster. Yep, that was the issue all along. We purchased the NETGEAR Range Extender to boost the weak Wi-Fi signal and lived happily ever after. So, 5 FILLED STARS for this product. I’d recommend two things: reach out to Best Buy staff or a Geek Squad specialist then go with a trusted brand like NETGEAR for your Wi-Fi network connecting solutions! When I first set up the Mesh Extender it worked great but by day 2 it was barely working. After some troubleshooting, I realized I had plugged it into a power strip which I believe was messing with the system after moving it to a wall outlet it has been functioning perfectly and had a blazing fast single throughout my whole house.

Do not buy this if you are planning on using your ps5 with this extender. It will NOT work. Ever since purchased, I had been stuggling for weeks trying different things, including setting it up several times from the beginning. Every device connects to the extender and it works great, excpet for the ps5. So if I or my nephews wanted to play online, we would have to disconnect the extender, which would leave some without wifi.
Customer service was actually great the third time around. Its best to call them instead of chatting. We went through all the troubleshooting options, but nothing. It ended up with a compatibility issue with the ps5. Anyway, what I ended up doing was simply going to extenders menu, and just blocking the ps5 from connecting to the extender, so this it way it would be forced to connect to our main router. I literally just thought of soing this, 3 months in. Tech support didnt even think of that silly simple option. Ps5 is not online and i dont have to unplug my extender to use it. Anyway, if you buy it and do have a ps5, this might have to be the only option available. I dont want to call Playstation and spend time with this. Last call with tech support was 50 minutes.

Used to get dual channel for certain devices that need to hook up to 2.4. Had a hard time connecting to router with sub speeds at first. Re set router and all is working well now. Problem devices have now connected on 2.4hz when I couldn’t get them connected on my mesh router. Also used as a stand alone connection point for gaming computer set up with low ping and fast up and down speeds. App is difficult IMHO patience is key.

My router/cable modem – Nighthawk CAX80 provides strong signal, but second floor is having dead sports. This Extender solved this issue.
Installation was a breeze and option to connect wired devices is a big plus!

It’s fast to setup with the application and connects with your WiFi, but it sometimes conflicts with the Tp-link deco router where there’s no WiFi connection to a point I had to unplug the power cord and plug it back again to reboot. I tried to connect to the app for rebooting but couldn’t connect.

This extender allowed me to move our 5G cellular gateway to an upstairs location with a better signal and still get a strong wifi signal downstairs. That improved download speeds throughout the house by a surprising amount!
Initial setup using the Nighthawk app was not difficult.
But when the cellular gateway rebooted and decided to use 5Ghz wifi channel 100 DFS, the extender could not see that channel at all. Had to force the gateway to use a fixed 5Ghz wifi channel that the extender could see. All was good after that.
I had no idea that could happen when I bought the extender so that was a frustrating failure at the time.
