Have you ever had something that did its job so well you didnt even notice it? This. Does everything proper and never hiccups. Paired with a 13900k and a MSI 4080 I couldnt ask for a better setup. I know 790’s are out and this only does ddr4, but if money is tight this is perfect.

This review has nothing to do with Best Buy as a whole, the buying/shipping/delivery process was fantastic as far as BB is concerned and deserve 5 stars. However, the board itself has a major flaw.
After connecting everything and booting up for the first time, I noticed I had no internet via ethernet. My port’s link-lights were not lighting up. I did however have wi-fi and was able to get on the internet to troubleshoot. I did absolutely everything to resolved this “dead” port, but nothing worked. I looked it up and sure enough it’s a huge common problem with MSI and the Intel I-225v built-in ethernet port and potentially AT&T internet. Sounds weird, but I saw a lot of people complaining said they had AT&T. I also noticed that the port would come alive when I was rebooting or shutting the PC down and some people got it to work, but they needed install a switch in-between the ethernet port and their main internet drop from their ISP… very weird.
Nonetheless, I decided to utilize the PCI-E slot on the mobo and purchased a TP-Link 2.5GB PCI-e Network Card (TX201) from Amazon for like $30. I popped it in and immediately had my 900+ download/upload speeds, since I have 1gb internet.
TL;DR – Ethernet port didn’t work, but not because of a DOA ethernet port. I bought a PCI-e NIC from Amazon and it worked flawlessly.

I upgraded my computer with the MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4 motherboard and I’m super happy with it. The motherboard’s overall performance is commendable; however, its BIOS fan control leaves much to be desired. I prefer a quiet PC environment when studying, so I decided to return the motherboard and opt for the Gigabyte Z790 AORUS ELITE AX instead. The Gigabyte motherboard provides fan profiles that allow for a quieter system operation during low-load scenarios.

Needs a bios update for 13th gen. Luckily you only need a usb drive and another pc to download it and flash. Been a really solid motherboard. Wish it had WiFi built in but overall it’s been just fantastic. Runs any os. Runs any game. 3 nvme slots is nice for people like me who are just over using spinning rust. I don’t have a single complaint.

Ive had the board a few months and have run a few different processors in it such as 12400F 12600K and a 13700K.
Ive used extreme cooling dry ice cooling method which help bring the 13700K to 6.7ghz for competitive benchmarking.
Im still using the board daily even after the dry ice cooling and have had no issues yet.
Its a decent robust board that took me by surprise. Would recommend for budget builders and first time extremists because of the lower cost and ddr4 support.

Best bang for buck motherboard for any build. Up to 196 gb of RAM to really pour some power in it as well as 3 total GPU slots to really get things running. Fairly easy to set up and find all the components to install. 10/10 recommend.

This board seems to have bios issues, think there are 13 bios updates in the MSI website. I flashed it today, now it crashes suddenly and reboots. Wasn’t doing this. It won’t recognize an M.2 and it looks like several people have suffered with this issue and when I read the forums it seems like the MSI boards. I am done, time to go back to Gigabyte!

Has everything I need for a mid-range build with room for overclocking in the future. Setup in BIOS was straightforward, and the non-RGB look of the board is a plus. Make sure to grab the chipset and network drivers from the MSI site, as it won’t be compatible with ethernet off the bat. Overall, a sleek, hassle-free motherboard.

I shouldve checked the 1 star reviews before I purchased. Initially thought my PSU was bad but it tested good. Resecured all connections and got nothing. Dont waste your money! Also the product came with the most basic instructions I have ever seen, just an all-around bad product.

I got this motherboard when it was on sale for 150 at Best buy during Cyber Monday. 3 things that I like most about this board. The first one it has six fan connections, secondly, it has connections for RGB lighting. And last but not least it has for m.2 connections and one of the connections has a heat sink

I purchased it, but once i built my pc and booted, i realised that the only way to download the drivers were with a disc. I obviously dont have a disc drive in my pc so i couldnt.

It worked which was all I needed to do but I don’t believe it is worth the cost. Other better looking boards are available for not much more, or the same price. If you need something quickly and this is all that’s available then this is perfect but if you have a bit of extra money and don’t need it ASAP I’d go with something else.

The lack of wifi does end up sucking a bit but otherwise this is a solid motherboard for the price. Save yourself the trouble though and buy one that has wifi included.
