Overall it seems like it could be an ok modem. The problem is firmware bugs that cause reboots and disconnects. In the case of Xfinity or Comcast business, you will be cycled between bad and worse versions. You’ll spend months fighting with them to try and resolve issues. In the end it comes down to the manufacturer (Minim not Motorola) constantly releasing buggy firmware and taking years between each attempted fix. You also will have a hard time getting support from Motorola/Minim. They seem understaffed but are willing to RMAs fairly easily. (But on your dime for ahipping.)

Works as expected. Save ISP rental fees by owning your own modem. Great value.

No matter what we did, it continued to loose connection. Even Spectrum sent a tech and equipment worked for 3 weeks and it disconnected again. Very weird, I had the same Motorola older version for at least 7 years, even moved addresses and worked amazingly. Very dissapointed. I returned it today and got Netgear. Let’s see how it works.
Bigtech66 –
Motorola has a name in making top notch electronics and this modem flies for Cox Cable

DID NOT LAST AND HAD TO RETURN, I RECOMMEND JUST GETTING IT FROM THE SERVICER YOU USE A MODEM FROM THEM.
PauloR –
I have for only a couple of months, but so far so good. Works great!
KhanhT –
so far so good. Get right speed 800Mbps. No complain.
JGMcD –
Fine DOCSIS 3.1 modem. Everything works as expected.
VGRN –
The Motorola Modem worked well once it got power; the power plug in had to be replaced as it was defective.
TomF –
Super fast setup and my speed went from around 200 down to 500 on the same 250 plan!
Get more out of your coax internet with the latest DOCSIS.
ZaDoc –
I bought this to replace my Motorola model SB 6121.
The data transfer is well over 500 MBS, and integrates seamlessly with Cox services.
Installation is a breeze, and all you have to do is contact your cable or Internet provider and have them register the modem.
Works EXCELLENT, and I save money by not having to rent a modem from Cox.
Good quality, outstanding performance, and a good deal for the money.
Highly recommended!

Great modem. Fast and reliable connection. Affordable price.
W2ARP –
Wound not work on a Comcast / Xfinity system. Had to return the unit.
JeffreyT –
Works exceptionally well with my ASUS router couldn’t be happier
DerekH –
got rid of my xfinity combo that was in front of my google wifi for this modem and it fixed my NAT internat dropping issues. Highly recommend and supports up to 1GBPS

I decided to get this motem instead of renting one from my internet provider, it was the cost effective alternative since I would have paid the company much more in the time I will need their services. Set-up is very user friendly and took less than 10 minutes to get up and running. My internet has been fast and my connection uninterrupted since setting it up, even while gaming and being upstairs! I recommend this option if you’re looking to set up an internet connection at home.
AtulV –
Easy set-up, works great with ASUS router. Seems higher quality than previous Netgear modem.
JonathanH –
This is by far one of the best modems i have ever owned. It is fast and reliable.
LuisD –
My previous modem was not compatible to the speeds I was paying for and it was affecting my work. Since purchasing the new modem all has been well.
PatrickC –
This is a very good modem setup with Cox was fairly easy I like the fact that the unit stays fairly cool
user751121 –

Jjtesla –
Great modem foe the price! Keeps my 1gb connection running smooth!
user448615 –
Does exactly what it is designed to do an nothing more. Low overhead cable modem that performs well. No internet downtime in the 2 months that I have owned it that was due to malfunction on its part. Would recommend
JoeW –
Good price. Good performance. Which is what I look for
Tennisbum –
Love this modem. It was easy to install and to activate. I had it up and running within an hour. The only reason it took that long is that my cable provider requires use of your phone or another device connected to the internet for activation and I live in a dead zone for my cell phone so I had to find a spot where I could get enough signal to complete the activation.
It is very fast and has more than enough speed and bandwidth for my needs. I am not a gamer or heavy streaming user so my needs are relatively low compared to today’s users. I do use zoom and other streaming platforms but not heavily.
Bindox –
I never rent the ISP modem and using your own pays for itself in less than a year. Flawless connection and ease of setup.
MaxM –
Had this modem for couple of months and so far so good. No issues with the set up. Great overall for the price.
BringDownTheSky –
Set it and forget it, good quality and no electric noise or excess ambient heat issues like the other brands options bring. I had the N e t g e a r variant, this is better. If you get it on sale, it’s a steal.
SnowL –
Works well and worth it. I have an increased in soeed. It also allows you the feature to disable other devices.
Billyho –
I have a close friend that is an IT director and he swears by this modem. I had to replace and old one that was going out on me and giving me fits. My friend pointed me at this bad boy and man was he right. Absolutely solid performance! It will not disappoint.
RCazz –
No problems with this modem. Plug and play and it works just fine
Dedar –
Easy setup. Excellent speed. Works as advertised.
Eric –
I get faster and more consistent speeds with this Motorola than I did with any Spectrum (charter) provided modem. I also like being able to see the raw technical data and the ability to reboot the modem without having to unplug it. I’ve been using this modem for over two years and not had a single problem with it. (which is more than I can say for the multiple ISP provided modems before I bought this one)
The URL for the management interface is 192.168.100.1
You cannot paste into the password field, so set your password to something relatively easy to type. lol

No issues at all, great throughout and plenty of useful indicators.

I have been using this for more than three weeks. It’s very stable and very convenient. I know that this is not the most powerful modem, but When I chose this I was aware that I’m going to be fine with it for at least the next 3-5 years. The speed maximum threshold on this is 1 Gb and my internet speed used to be 800 and after recent research I downgraded the speed to 400. My wife and I work from home most of the days and it’s working now much better as used to be with Xfinity’s modem (X-Fi). I also added a mesh router to this modem which I think made a huge difference in making that system much more efficient with even lower speed. I’m now getting more than 400-450 consistent speed in most areas of my house. I really recommend to anyone who uses internet speed 1gb or less.

The modem is fine but this constant hounding for reviews is ridiculous
KayeA –
Big fam of Motorola products. They have always served me well. Just installed this and have great expectations based on previous history.
JenniferH –
I had to return this item after discovering that it wouldn’t work. After the IT support from Xfinity and tech assist at my house could not get it to work after troubleshooting, changing out cables, etc., it would not connect to the internet and was found to be a faulty modem.
MarJ –
I’ve only had it working for a few days, because there were delays getting service turned on at our new address. Once the signal was coming in, this modem connected and things were humming. I did have to power cycle off and back on to get full speed. Other than that, so far so good. I hope it lasts.
RussellMarler –
I was in another state when i purchased this item. When i got home and realized it wouldnt work for my needs, i was past my 14 day return window. 14 day returns was never found prior to purchase. No customer service number to talk to someone at the store. I will NEVER buy from BestBuy again. You lost my business forever. Looks like my new TV surround sound entertainment system will be purchased somewhere else. Nice job.

still use this modem today, very rock solid and intend to use for years to come!
Samsung –
Great modem to use with Spectrum cable. Modem does not run hot.
AshishG –
Works really well and a good buy with good reasonable price and easy installation.
Mlee –
Modem working well. Set up was easy. We’re using with Cox internet.
CP81 –
Great modem. Works perfect with Deco wifi mesh. Excellent coverage.
Deluge220 –
Its a simple modem that performs as advertised. I do not have issues with its connection to host Xfinity and the throughput out my router.
kajskdljaklsdjklasd –
Not on recommend list anymore, look somewhere else for future proofing
AlexA –
Has worked very well since it was purchased in 2020. Still going providing us very fast connectivity with Xfinity. We use it primarily for work and streaming services or 5-8 devices.
