  1. Trailmaster

Product does everything we wanted it to do – portable, with the ability to connect to a vehicle CB hookup. Particularly liked the size and ease of operation with only one hand.

  2. MarcoPolo1254

Let me cut to the Chase.
This is an Excellent Radio, the reception is awesome, and much to my surprise, soooo many folks in my area are on-air, I was so happy to see that, Now I know this Radio will be getting a lot of use !!
This radio is worth every penny, very sturdy and easy to use. I also love the built-in weather station (NOAA) !!
One thing I never really like about installing a radio in my vehicles is running wires to the battery, with the 75-822 you only Plug your mobile adapter into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter plug, how cool this that!?
Two Thumbs Waaay Up for Midland 🙂

  3. HTC03

Works great. But if you want to pick up more than just the weather channels I recommend you pick your self up a antenna. I purchased a wilson 300 watt lil-will and now my son can talk to people up to 10 miles away. It paid for it’s self the first day driving from work. Truckers worning everyone about speed traps.

  4. cnorman

Called customer service to be sure that this could also be programmed to local fire ems and law enforcement and was Assured it had the capability…well IT DOES NOT!! We decided to keep it since i was also told there were no handheld scanners avaliable to exchange it for. very disappointed with customer service persons knowledge and will not purchase items agin without hands on proof it does what it is suppose to, not the Christmas gift i intended for my husband. Oh and just FYI there was one on display at the Mooresville Nc store and it was on doing exactly what I wanted but after inquriing was told it belonged to an associate and was no longer avaliable yet it had a price sticker……not good way to do business Again Very disappointed!!!

  5. hubguy010

this cb radio is horrible, I can not pick up anything

  6. Alwho

needed a compact cb radio, did not want to mount it to my vehicel. meets requirement to comunicate with others while wheeling in various circumstances. can install antenae for extended range.

  7. Tunatruck

I keep it plugged into my trk 90% of the time. Other than the light issue it works the same as any other cb no complaints. If u want to talk to your friend 30 miles away get a galaxy, but if u just wanna talk to the traffic within about 5 miles it works just fine and clear with a regular Wilson whip. On the boat it works even better. I can talk to the shore 16 miles across the bay crystal clear and there’s no big box to move around or mount in place. I use the same unit for both my trk and boat and it can fit in my pocket.

  8. Takers

It works great when I have to get out of the truck as an escort vehicle.

  9. macktrk

I thought buying a well known product like midland you would think they would have better quality items! this radio worked for about 2 second and quit!! bought the cobra version and very happy with it works great!

  10. Joeoil

Batteries don’t stay in place, night light a joke.

  11. Jcam

I didn’t want to buy a bulky regular CB that stayed in my 4Runner all the time when I only plan on using it when hitting the trails. This unit works perfect for what I need. I bought the magnetic mount antenna from Midland as well to help with the range.

  12. GJuneau

i love the portable radio. It’s compact and powerful.

  13. CassandraMissP

MissP. Great cb radio easy instructions and great
    Value for the money.

  14. spinntop

This is a neat little rig. You can take it wherever you go. I tried it out at home and it picked up. There was not much traffic but I did hear some. I also bought a portable antenna to be sure I get good reception in my truck or RV.

  15. Eaglesnest

Unit has great sound for its size. You can count on Best Buy

  16. NJbestbuyer

Yes! I talk to the People at Planet Pandora!
We talk for at least 1/2 hour everyday!
They say they will visit me in the near future, because Pandora is 30 light years away!
We might meet in 800,000 thousand years
But in the mean time I guess we just talk over with my Midland CB Radio! Thanks !!!!

  17. Jamuhs

I e wanted one of these for a while. I’m sure happy happy I picked one up. It works very nicely and has 40 channels high and low. I love the dual watch feature. I love that you get the car kit with it, the battery pack for regular alkaline batteries and the after that you can put the battery pack for rechargeable batteries in and charge it while hooked up. But as you know batteries are not included. It’s a very versatile CB radio. You get a lot for your money. I paired this with the Cobra HGA 1500 Cb antenna. It works awesome together. Gets long range too and is very clear. If I had to pick one thing I didn’t like about the Midland 75-822 is the scan channel mode. It doesn’t scan as fast as I would like but other then that I love it.

  18. Dakool42

I like this radio. I only wish I could get more channels to work.

  19. FOShopper

Purchased this as a gift. Husband loved it. Well made and reception very clear.

  20. JimS

I bought this to use in emergency or when traveling in areas with no cell service. This has nice features including the ability to use full size antenna. It is small enough to pack in my car or ATV.

  21. BeAre

Very poor reception. I could receive but no one could hear me on channel #8. Reception wasn’t much better even after connecting a magnetic car antenna. Occasionally someone would break squelch on other channels but they were unreadable. Weather info was available on some of the weather channels.

  22. Yugioh23

The greatest feature is the weather radio and it’s followed by the police systems!!

  23. Baptisto

Easy to use and multiple power options. I was impressed with it!

  24. Dave

This is a good radio with decent range if you get an external antenna, rubber ducky antenna receives pretty well but transmission is weak, which is usually the case with a handheld radio. Everything you need is here including the AC power plug if you want to use it in the car, very good price for a quality handheld radio.

  25. iPad8thGen

I liked this unit 75*40 but I returned it and got the 3 pack Midland 30 miles 30 channel radio because it was cheaper and comes in 3 pack it also has a weather channel and the communication range is much better than the 75 40

  26. jmart4173

Nice option for our overlanding expeditions and long road trips.

  27. VicL

I purchased the CB radio for my husband as a gift for Christmas. Best Buy had a great sale on it during the holidays and it’s worked out great and then only did I get a great price I got a great quality product thanks Best Buy!

  28. Victor

Would not recommend this. Could not communicate with a vehicle I was right next to. Maybe I had a bad one.

  29. Stuart

I returned it it did not work for what I needed to do….which was use it in a vehicle

  30. Greenworks4me

Great product! I like the portability of it. I havent tested a far range yet.

  31. JABrown

I’ve had my Midland 75-40 handheld for 10+ years. I have used it primarily for hunting while away from my truck’s CB radio. I have owned several CB and FRS handheld radios. The Midland has been my favorite and I have gotten a lot of use out of it. Using regular AA batteries, the battery life has been great. Realizing the limitations of a handheld with a short antenna, it has received and transmitted as well or better as any others I have had. No handheld if going to transmit as far as a vehicle installed CB radio, but for a handheld CB, it works great.

  32. victorioc

I’m pleased with my purchase, it works great. I would recommend this item to my friends.

  33. Lalo

Works great ,just wish more truckers used cb’s or at least turn theirs on
