    The power socket should be in the same side of the Ethernet port or at the side. It is not convenient for placement on a table.

    It’s a simple piece with a simple job and it is doing it well. I have it mounted on a lasering machine that required multiple network connections. It kept me from putting in more drops and has not caused me any issues.

    I did a lot more research than one should probably have to when buying a simple switch. Out of all the ones at this price range, this one stood out as being superior both in build quality and reliability to the competition. A lot of other companies have switched to using a plastic case and some of the switches run hot, causing premature failures. This is metal and overall a solid product so far. The 8 port version is a much better deal than the 5 port one and there might even be some slight technical differences that make it worth paying a few bucks more. Very happy with this purchase and at a no-brained this price that Best Buy offered it for.

    Affordable but effective network switch. Only drawback was the mounting options would be better if they provided double sided velcro as opposed to just the screw mount hardware.
