I believe it’s probably a good product, but the box did not contain any connector cable to pair with the computer. I sent it back and got a different model. The new one did the trick. Better make sure this is what you need. BTW, the instructions inside are TERRIBLE! They show directions for 2 models – neither of which is this one!

I did not know this product was for installing inside the computer. I thought it was a satellite type device meaning that the device was connected with USB cable. Thus I have not installed or used to this product so I have no ability to rate this product. Thank you for your time i’ll see you in the store Friday so I can exchange it for what I actually need.

Excellent DVD drive. Wished it played Blue Ray also but honestly it is a great drive. The only bad thing is (not even the drives fault) Windows Media Player doesn’t support playback from it. I even paid for it and it still doesn’t play. Downloaded a free player off the App Store and it works fine. So very happy with the drive.

Updated the mother board and processor in my old desk top. My old drive was not being recognized by the new BIOS. Easiest thing to do was buy a new Drive. Put this in and as soon as I started my PC everything was back to working as it should.

This product says you can use it externally, however you must buy all the cords and cables because it doesn’t come with anything. The casing is specifically designed for internal use only. Unless your are building your own pc it’s not worth it.
