Its useful but the lingerie setting leaves everything dripping wet. Kind of annoying. Hand wash and normal work fine. Works great when you have a small amount of hand wash items.
Thomas –
We got this because it was a smoking deal in the best buy store. I’m glad we have it but honestly it takes 45 minutes for a normal wash and when my kids are washing their work uniform shirts for the day they are like every other 20 year old and don’t have 45 minutes (or they don’t want to wait that long). So they use the big washer….
I wish it had a quick wash setting but it’s cute and would work for a few select items.
Spectac –
Talk about the sidekick to have! I got this unit as a add-on to the washer which I purchased from another vendor. This actual unit is made to support the washer and serve as a second method for washing smaller clothing items. I use it almost every time I wash clothes— as a nice space to clean very delicate items. Works like a charm!
Hobbit –
If you spill food on your clothing occasionally this is the machine for you.
puglover2 –
Love the pedestal washer. It’s quiet and efficient, perfect for when you just need to wash a few things. Enjoy the extra height it gives my washer. No more bending down to load and unload clothes.
Txbluzman –
I love this pedestal and its functions. Best purchase
VMRK –
However Best Buy supplied a graphite steel pedestal washer with a black stainless steel Washer & Dryer. Response from Service Rep has been slow and he has not responded to my request to order a replacement black stainless steel pedestal washer so it matches the main Washer. Recommendation to others will depend on how Best But resolves the color issue. Otherwise all good!

When getting pedestals for the LG the washer has this Sidekick small washer. At first I didn’t think I would ever use cause can’t fit much in there, but then you start to realize it is perfect for small loads.
Featch –
It as worked well so far. I do enjoy being able to wash a small load at same time as large load in main washer. Works well.
MeMee –
Love it! It’s just right for small loads! I enjoy using it.
Brent –
we bought a washer/dryer set from Best Buy and got a great price. my fiance wanted something she could do here delicates and sweaters in so we got the sidekick. Havent used it much yet, but the few times it was great.
Ashu –
Excellent product. Excellent product. Excellent product
Sartaj –
Great for the washers with low height. Save your back, money and aesthetics of your home. Great for washing kids clothes and small cycles that can’t wait a week until the ‘laundry day’.
g8rgrad98 –
I got this open box for a steal. Haven’t used it as much as I expected, but it is a nice perk.
ATLChris –
I love my new LG washer and dryer set. The pedestal washer would be great, but be warned if you don’t have at least an inch of clearance below it. Mine is in a closet in an apartment, and it hits on the carpet threshold when I try to open it so I can’t use it right now.
Scott –
When I bought this, I was more tempted by how cool the idea was then anything. I did not expect it would get that much use. However, it is constantly being run and has become a staple in the laundry routine. I would highly recommend this over a drawer pedestal.
spchak –
Perfect to keep my kids skating skinsuits clean and not waste a ton of water in the big washer.
Best part, this was a scratch and dent item, so we got it for a great price.
Ditmus –
I never knew I needed this mini-washer, but it’s great if you want to run a small load when the big washer is busy.
PROS: Styling matches similar LG washers and dryers. Unit is quiet. You can add an optional IR remote control.
CONS: The IR remote control should be included, but it’s not. No WiFi. Separate supply hoses, drain hose, and electrical cord make for a busy space between wall and washer (plastic y-connectors for drain and water supply are supplied; should use metal for supply) This pedestal washer is surprisingly heavy, especially after mounting the heavy front loader on top.
blue512 –
No matter what, it will ONLY work with corresponding LG washer. Don’t buy otherwise! Also, will NOT work on its’ own connected directly to waterline.
AGreen –
love having a sidekick washer for hand-wash cycle and small loads. Brilliant!
Kari –
I didn’t think this was a necessary item, but I wanted the pedestals anyway so I purchased this instead of the simple drawer. I’m glad I did.
For not much more than the single drawer pedestal, I now have a small washer to quickly clean items when I don’t want to run a full load. We wash sweaty running clothes, baby bibs/rags/blankets, delicates, and more. There have been times in the past that I’ve needed a single pair of jeans washed, but I’ve waited until we had more dirty laundry before washing them. Now I don’t have to wait. This cuts down on future size loads as well.
The pedestal washer has three main settings (Normal, Delicates, or Hand Wash) and three additional settings (Active, Rinse/Spin, and Tub Wash). It also has a child safety lock so a child can’t open it while it’s running.
Such a great invention! This is the one thing you didn’t know you needed!
Matt –
My wife loves this as an added washer for delicates and it compliments the pedestal for the dryer. Well worth it !
Great –
This is a lifesaver specially during the pandemic I used it at least twice a week to wash my uniform
cshenn –
Planned to buy the regular pedestal but since this extra washer was on sale, it was worth it to spend just a little bit more and have a 2nd washer!! Has been so convenient when we only need to wash a couple work shirts for my daughter! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it’s hard to get it completely dry after using it. And in order to walk through the laundry room, it has to be closed, so needs to be as dry as possible.
TomDesert –
The SideKick is the perfect way to be able to do two wash loads at a time. It certainly reduces the time to complete washing clothes. I had assumed this would be the perfect place to wash athletic shoes but on reading the manual it states to not wash shoes in it. That is the reason I only gave it four stars instead of five.
Buyer –
It’s a very useful product, takes a less size and works really great.
Jeff –
This is not a good product. I got 3 different ones and they all had the same issue. They all would not drain the watwr completely. They began to smell. Had to return. I would not recommend this product.
vnpkumar –
Very easy to use, Handy when you need to run small loads.
– The options are also pretty good and provides lot of options.
Helphelphelphelphelplower –
We don’t have it yet. No one from Best Buy has contacted us since the delivery
We need it ASAP!!!
Please call to get it out to house.
RossK –
This was a great addition to my laundry setup. I’ve lost count of the number of times that I’ve used it and run it a lot with the main washer. You can’t beat it for value.
HappyCustomer –
I am so excited to use my new Sidekick! Waiting for my kitchen/laundry remodel project to be done. But my Sidekick is what really actually has me excited to do laundry (who would have thought!)
ChooseLG –
I purchased this washer for the hand wash cycle. The entire machine is lined with water drain holes which caused my clothing to come out of the machine with piling and holes. The machine is quiet and a nice idea but flawed in design.
MrsTyeRenee –
Works just as expected! Love it.. Keeps me from wasting water and energy trying to wash a small load in my big full size washer!
Butlindr –
Buyer beware that Best Buy online is incorrectly including this 27 inch model in a package deal with the 5.2 cubic foot washer and 9 cubic foot dryer. The installers came today and discovered the problem during setup, so now we have to wait for the correct 29 inch model to arrive.
Displayname –
It should be 0 stars. Never worked. PE error. Out of warranty, so LG won’t fix it. Pedestal washer is a gimmick. It may have a 10 year motor warranty, seems that is simply do to it not running.
DeeGee –
The LG – 27″ SideKick 1.0 Cu. Ft. 6-Cycle High-Efficiency Pedestal Washer – Graphite steel is great for smaller loads.
Brittalynn –
I love this. It’s perfect for my whites! And stuffed animals.
Laser –
I absolutely love having a small washer for hand washables and it’s great if you need to wash a few items and don’t need the large washer. LG did a great job on their design and they have good quality products.
HiDefAddict –
Didn’t think I would like husband said buy it and I luv it
Dude22 –
Works awesome for small loads. Purchased to use for baby clothes.
Nikki –
A nice little washer, but after ~18 months of light use (once or twice a week) the control panel died. At this point, I’m waiting on a service visit that will be $185 + parts from one of the few LG capable repair shops near me.
While it’s convenient, when the repair is 1/4 to 1/3 of the cost of the appliance, after such a short time, I’m not impressed.
J7473 –
Great product makes life easier and convenient for washing smaller things
mstll –
Perfect for washing the dog’s bedding separately and keeping dog hair out of the regular washer
dheitz12 –
the item is good the people the delivery the due terrible job
MonterioW –
Though a pedestal washer is a bit pricey, I love having the option to wash a small load without having to use the big/main washer! Be sure to read the manual… the pedestal uses very little detergent! In fact, it uses LESS than a washer pod (for those of us that use pods in the main washer). You’ll want to use liquid HE detergent (again, less than what’s contained in a washer pod) and use only the amount necessary… barely a squirt! Again, very convenient washer!
PaulR –
This is our second sidekick. We bought this set about 8 years ago and used this mioniwasher at least 4 times a week. Workout gear, sports uniforms, special “not to be washed with anything else” clothes. we replaced the original because it needed a part that has been on backorder for over a year. Get a pedastal for the dryer and get this sidekick.
ShelleyA –
perfect for work out clothes or a small load that you need washed fast! perfect for kids!
HaniA –
Love it that’s very nice and very easy to use
Thank you very much
CarolynF –
This is one of the best purchase I every made….I love it@
MegC –
This washer has come in handy for an active family that includes kids in sports who need uniforms washed frequently (almost daily). My only displeasure has been that it needed to be replaced after only 2 years of operation. It started to leak water. Thankfully, we had an extended warranty and was able to receive a replacement. No extended warranties are now offered on the replacement, so we are left on our own for any needed repairs outside of the manufacturer’s warranty.
