While I had the screen it looked amazing, took a bit of time tinkering with the settings to get it to look good but HDR is fake meaning it’s all done by software and some games with HDR enabled in game make things look unbearably bad. My screen failed and I decided to go for another model due to not true HDR

This monitor will actually run a higher resolution than my laptop can put out so it exceeds my expectation. My wife does photo editing so she wanted a monitor that is big and has great capabilities. I did a quick search online because I don’t know what is needed to determine if a monitor has what I need and this monitor came up as a great option so we got two of them.

First let me say this is a great monitor. Especially for a Mac or hackintosh. This specific monitor however arrived missing everything but the power cord, and when turned on had hundreds of dead subpixels showing green only. This was after it was delivered to UPS whom let it sit at the arriving facility for almost a week. This monitor was not something I would think met the Geek Squad Certified Level. Otherwise, great monitor when new!

To be clear at the top: This review is for the Geek Squad Certified Refurbished model that is sometimes sold on Best Buy. The monitor itself is great when bought new, or in my case, as an open box item. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of first purchasing a Geek Squad Certified Refurbished model, which arrived absolutely filthy and with a defective panel. Before I even plugged the monitor in I cleaned off smudges and finger prints that covered the panel, and what appeared to be glue left over from tape that had been stuck all over the front and back. When I did plug the monitor in, before even connecting it to a source, I immediately noticed small horizontal green lines that looked like dashes covering about 25% of the panel. Plugging the monitor in to a source did nothing to minimize these lines, except in areas where the panel was displaying pure white. Also, the monitor wasn’t even reset to factory settings, which I thought was odd for an item that had been “certified refurbished”. Fortunately, this monitor was available at a local Best Buy location for almost exactly the same price as an “Excellent Condition” open box item. Unfortunately, Best Buy has a policy of not processing exchanges over the phone or online, which seems counterintuitive to all of the crowing they do about corona virus safety, but I digress. I was able to easily exchange the refurbished model in store for the open box they had in stock there.
I would not recommend buying anything that’s Geek Squad Certified Refurbished.

Took a while to dial in the settings, still working on Lightroom size. Very clean lines, very sharp

Purchased refurbished and it is just great. Easy to set up, nice looking and beautiful display. Paired with a mac mini and you have about as much bang for your buck as you will find.

These monitors are great. The Geek Squad Certified is a complete joke. I ordered two. One was perfect.
The second was broken. It had a corner that was out and a rattle when you moved it. Some piece just moving around. The LG monitor also came with a Samsung power supply… The replacement came all marked up on the back but works great. The power brick cable is separating though. Great job.

I purchased on the 27th of March, today it died. I tried the usual, but it won’t power on. I no longer have the box so I have to find a way to ship it back to LG….
