The door opens two different ways usually I have to open it from side to side rather than from top to bottom because the top to bottom does not come down all the way. Other than that it is a quality machine that dries the clothes and that’s what you need them for.

Originally purchased a maytag washer and dryer and within a week we returned maytag set and purchased LG washer and dryer. Maytag washer went off balance every wash and VERY NOISEY. LG washer is so quiet, i dont know if it’s washing.

We’ve used it for almost 2 months and it works good. Sometimes the sensor dry misses the mark and we have to add additional drying. HAve not tried the steam feature.

Good looking machine that stops heating every 3 months. I have to pull out the dryer to get to lower rear panel on side to push an awkwardly placed very sharp to the hand reset button. This is no easy task in my laundry closet to get that machine completely out. And after the first time of getting shocked I figured out you must push this while it is NOT plugged in. Door swings shut while loading making it a constant battle. I also strongly dislike the poorly designed handle on the top of the door that collects hair/dirt. Never have been able to get wifi to work. Steam dryer – not sure what this is accomplishing – it’s all hooked up but I see no noticeable advantage, clothes are often quite wrinkled and seem to be wadded up and wrapped inside of other clothes. Flat top is nice to set things on, but the no heating until reset is a MAJOR problem that of course started after the one year warranty was up. I regret this purchase.

My last dryer did not get my clothes sufficiently dry, and I have been pleased that this dryer has done much better, even with large loads of towels. The controls will take some time to learn, as there are lots of options which are somewhat confusing. My previous dryer had a sloped top, and things slid off. This dryer has a nice flat top, making it easier to fold clothes on.

Good overall. My only complaint is that the dryness sensor seems to be out of calibration, so after most loads finish I have to run a bit longer.
Matters –
If you are looking for a dryer that can have everything that you need, then look no further. Between wifi and the steam ability, you will be hard-pressed finding something this can’t do.
But, how does it perform? Will, it is; fast, quiet, and very efficient. I am able to dry king-size comforters and large loads of laundry with just one cycle. This used to take me 2-3 cycles and even then I was not able to do my comforter. Incredibly impressed with the capacity of the dryer and the ability for it to dry even the largest of loads. The steam function is great which allows you to sanitize objects that usually can’t be washed, including my daughter’s toys. The steam also allows you to get rid of wrinkles quickly if you are in a pinch. I’ve used that function quite a bit and I am amazed at how it works every time!
Honestly, there are so many cycles that I’m not able to comment on all of them. Cycles include wrinkle refresh, sanitize, and even air dry. The Dryer also has the ability to download new ones through the application!
Overall, I am very happy with my LG purchase and its ability to efficiently dry the largest of cycles. So far, I am happy with the build quality and hope to use this for years to come.

So Far everything has been working fine. The Wifi setup was difficult in that the independent contractors that Best Buy uses can install these just fine but hooking them up to Wifi took the Geek Squad but only after several attempts with “Installers” who don’t know squat. Wifi feature nice in that you are notified when a load is finished.

While I am pleased with the capacity of this dryer, I am disappointed in the quality. I choose very dry – the driest option available – and I still must return most loads for at least one additional drying, most for two, and they still are not completely dry.
The delicate cycle uses a higher heat than my previous dryer, which has caused some shrinkage.
One feature I love is the door – it opens either from the top or side. Opening from the top helps to stop stray items from falling on the floor.
I also like that you can turn the interior light on simply by turning the power on. And I also like that you can see inside through the window.
We have not connected and used the steam function.
While I do like some of the features of this dryer, the purpose of a dryer is to DRY…which this one, sadly, does not do well. For this reason, I do not recommend this dryer.

Huge upgrade from my old, outdated dryer! Large capacity inside while not taking up much more room than my older smaller capacity dryer. Lots of extra neat features, and I don’t have to worry about running dry multiple times to make sure my comforter and bulk clothes get appropriately dry! Weird to have wifi on a dryer but it was simple to set up and it’s nice to get notifications when the clothes are ready.

We have had the dryer for less than 60 days and are generally very pleased. The problem I have with this is serious. It involves the lint trap housing. The lint trap itself is easy enough to clean. However, there is a waffle-like plastic housing that holds the lint trap in place and this gets all kinds if lint stuck in it (not just the lint trap screen). Lint also gets stuck below the lint trap and against the interior housing wall of the lint trap chamber. So in addition to just cleaning the lint trap screen, you will also periodically need to disassemble the the lint trap housing itself (4 screws of which 2 are awkwardly on the inside of the dryer) in order to be able to reach the lint that is trapped within this chamber so that you can vacuum it out with a narrow tool). Failure to do this on a regular basis would no-doubt present a fire hazard. Ours already has considerable amount of lint build up there and we’ve had it less than 2 months. We’ve had great luck with LG and are disappointed that such a nice dryer has such a fatal flaw. I am not willing to disassemble my lint trap housing every 2 months from now for the rest of this dryer’s life, and so ours is going back (I am grateful that I am a Total Tech member this year as I believe I still have a few days yet to return/replace this with a different model).

I love my new LG Dryer, DLEX7800WE that I recently purchased at Best Buy & delivered 12/1/22. It has so many great extra features like Small Load, Bedding, Anti-Bacterial, Steam Fresh, Steam Sanitary, Perma Press, Sportswear, Speed Dry & Air Dry. It also has a Sensor Dry & Wrinkle Dry feature. I can also remotely start it with my Smart Phone, whick i don’t use. The dryer door has 2 ways to open, pull it straight down to load clothes directly from washer & the door also swings open all the way to the right when drying is finished.
