buyer –
A little large but powerful enough. I bought this to keep my bedroom cool at night, so that I don’t have to cool down the entire downstair floor with the downstairs central AC, while I sleep. It suits the purpose it was bought for.
Satisfied –
Cools more than it says it does very efficient lightweight and quiet let you sleep peacefully
AliceM –
Easy to use out of the box. Cools effectively and quietly!
LSeattle –
Quiet and takes up minimal space.Light and portable for easy movement around the house.Highly recommended!

What a great purchase, it’s perfect for my family!

Received unit that was cracked on bottom and leaking. Opened it up to track down the leak after stepping in a puddle in the corner of my room and found that there were several screws just rattling around inside the unit as several broken pieces of plastic.
The leak ruined about 50-100 sq ft of flooring too.
So frustrating. No damage to the box or packaging that I could tell, so the crack on the underside condensation basin must have happened at the factory.
Super frustrating.
Sadly the leak was so slow that of course I didn’t notice until after return window had closed. Just wish I could swap it out for one that isn’t damaged. Never would have crossed my mind to flip it over to examine the bottom. Now I have to replace carpets and several hundred dollars of flooring.

Needed something for the home office/gaming room to supplement the central AC. 4090s get hot.
I selected this LG Portable AC unit for two reasons…one was the variable-speed condenser for low(er) noise. And second, because it was self evaporating and wouldn’t need to be emptied when being used as an AC.
So far, the unit has proved to be fairly quiet. Not as quiet as I had hoped, but quiet enough given the cooling performance it offers. If I am watching, playing, or listening to something at a reasonable volume, I do not notice the AC unit on Low and Medium settings. On High, it’s loud as expected.
The self evaporating feature has worked flawlessly. I’ve ran this AC unit for nearly two weeks straight, 8-12 hours a day…no issues, no leaks.
So why 4 stars instead of 5?
The remote isn’t great. It works, but it can’t read any of the current settings from the AC unit…so you need to keep pressing buttons on the remote until the remote reads the settings you want.
The WiFi was problematic at first. I had to go through the setup 3-4 times before it finally worked consistently. The app is a much better control option than the remote.
The window kit is also just OK. The foam feels a bit cheap and has no adhesive backing causing it to shift when you’re doing your final fitments. The hose is also somewhat short. LG wants you to position the hose in such a way that it has a top “arch” to prevent water from entering the unit through the open window. If you do set it up this way, you will need to place the unit very close to the window. The third issue with the window kit is the fitment of the hose on the AC unit’s backside. Depending on the position of the air hose, it has a very small, but audible air leak. Not a huge issue as I positioned the unit in a way that provided more downforce on that particular area of hose causing it to seal properly, but still, something to be aware of on an expensive unit like this.
All in all, initial reliability and performance have been great. Wish it was a tad quieter at the lowest setting. Accessories should be made to a higher standard of quality given the increased cost of this over a comparable window unit.
4/5

The unit is quieter than I was expecting. The window vent is small enough that you can still look outside. There has not been a really hot day yet, but the few times we have used it it has performed well. The app allows access to some useful features that will come in handy during the summer.

It’s really nice I love it works perfectly WF perfect I recommend this ac
Headset –
Very quiet don’t know about cooling yet still new to us I’ll come back later
Anne –
Works great! Very quiet. Cools large room and I like that I can just put it in a closet during cooler weather.
BrianS –
Good a/c better than any other LG I’ve purchased. Its look is as good as anything I’ve purchased from anyone else. The inverter tech makes a difference. The exhaust hose design on this model is better that the cheaper ones because it goes straight up and out rather than just straight out the back. Streamlined and worth the cost.
Wisam –
I bought several different ones but all of them can’t be compared with the remarkable this LG air conditioning, it is not loud and easy to install. Highly recommend it.
AngelS –
When I purchased the unit, online it said 500 sq.ft. but when I received the box it said up to 450 sq.ft. The box was in pretty bad shaped, almost as if it was placed in storage for many years. Once the unit was installed and placed, as soon as it turned on it had a CL 26 Code. It didn’t even run for 15 seconds at all. Very disappointed for the price that was paid.
Heather –
Pretty quite compared to other AC units. My only complaint is that the remote has to be super close to the unit so if you are sitting across the room it won’t work. I have not tried to set up the app yet.
EMel –
I bought this thinking it was for an at most 500 sq ft room, when I received the item the box said it was 450 sq ft. I checked the item number to see if the number on the box matched what was advertised and they both matched! If I wanted the 450 sq ft unit, I would’ve bought that one instead, which is also cheaper than this one. According to the box, it only makes units up to 450 sq ft anyway. UPS was supposed to make 3 attempts to pick it up but only came once. To make sure my return window didn’t end, I returned it myself. It was quite inconvenient returning as this unit was very heavy.
KWeis –
Its very quiet and I love the phone app for ease of control.
Carol –
Works well and easy to install. I didn’t realize you had to drain the water… but it was no big deal.
Smpr –
Easy to install window kit, works well for size intended, nice to be able to control and check on through the app. Very quiet compared to other portable air conditioning units.

Bought this to use in a Master Bedroom in a home built in 1891 with very narrow windows that a window unit wouldn’t fit in. The box was beaten up and delivered to a neighbor, but the casters were okay, and the unit appeared fine. Unpacked it, read the manual, and completed the installation. It is a fairly easy exercise. The only thing I caution you about is the “tab locks,” where the hose in the rear unit “locks” onto the plastic guard that positions in the window frame. The tabs are not “locks” at all. They are pretty much useless tabs that allow the hose to travel freely into and out of “locking.” I took double-sided Gorilla tape on one side and Duct tape on the other to make the union between the two stable and easy to modify later. Then I secured the insulating foam all around that plate before inserting the whole assembly in the window. That helps secure the seal, keeps out bugs, etc. You also need to consider the height of the hose because, if you have any solid window sill, you cannot adjust the height of the plastic panel that fits into the window – only the width. As a result, you may have a gap at the bottom, so the whole thing will fit in the window. Save some of the insulation material for that.
As a result, the cheap “locking system” cost this product a star.
On the flip side, this thing does a great job pumping out cold air so far without being overly noisy. However, you must consider how far you expect it to project cold air because the fan is only good enough to throw it about six feet out. A portable fan beside it helps a lot. I am happy with it and not so happy. It is an expensive unit, and only time will tell how dependable it will be. I recommend it if you have a tricky window situation that won’t allow a traditional box AC.

I can’t sleep without this running during the humid summer nights.

Being able to control it from anywhere is awesome. Quiet and efficient
Debra –
So quiet and well designed. Easy to set up and get going.
Herojjang –
Easy to Installation and it only takes 30- 45 minutes. Cool well and not too noisy when AC running. Cools a medium sized bedroom easily and quickly.
Sekiro –
Works really well in these hot temperatures. I like the ease of use and portability. The app is great and actually tells you how much power was consumed.
JinnaL –
The box came in horrible condition but the product itself is great.
The shipping and handling not very good and the packaging came in sub ideal.
EdwardK –
Keeps my bedroom very comfortable during the heat.Short term answer to broken central AC .
LeeF –
We live in SoCal, by the beach, with no A/C. The temperature is comfortable most days, but mid July and August can get a little uncomfortable. We bought this for our bedroom, and it could be the best purchase we’ve made in awhile! Easy to set up, cools down the room quickly. Will be able to store nicely in a closet when we don’t need it. Bought a second for our guest room.
AxtonN –
Works great! I was surprised by how quiet it is. Installing the window exhaust was super simple too. Overall good purchase.
morningperson –
Quiet and powerful. Heavy, so I placed it on a small dolly to more easily empy the reservoir with gravity. Far better than a window unit. and a cinch to install I bought three with no regrets!
KyGal –
Excellent air conditioner, easy to install and use! It has an app you can use to program, unit on wheels for easily moving when ready to store for winter, adapts to various window sizes, and modern-looking sleek profile for a unit this size. The only downside is that running continually is not recommended. So my son turns it off at night when he uses a ceiling fan but runs the rest of the day.
PuckaphonC –
The best quality and work very well love it thank you ….,.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,(,,,
Bogie –
Absolutely love this AC unit. Keeps my office cool and does not double my power bill.
Norm –
Works well, plug and play. Could use a longer hose
MichaelY –
The unit seems to work good pretty quite the power cord a little short so if you need an extension cord make sure it’s rated properly I wouldn’t go over 10ft. The app wireless is nice little setup. I like I can schedule it on and off remotely. It does use energy so you can watch the kw on the app. Exhaust is totally required
Gman –
It’s does a fair job. Don’t expect it to cool your garage in the summer time. Set at 80 degrees it can run all day and be lucky to reach 82. Probable better off with a window unit for that application. Probably will do well with an interior room during an extended power outage. The app works well for controls.
Cook –
The AC works well, but the box says its for 450 sqft. Best Buy has listed that this item can cover 500 sqft multile times. They need to update the listing because it’s false adveristing!
RubenL –
This portable ac gets the job done room doesn’t have insulation so it would get really hot but with this ac it was able to cool it down right away worth the money.
Amma –
After ordering and trying 3 different units, this is a great air conditioner. Packs a big punch for the small size and reasonable price.
SergioS –
Good with energy using and cools the room great without trouble!
JorgeOBenavides –
This is an excellent unit, low noise and high performance
John –
The positives are that the unit is nicely designed with respect to appearance and the wheels and handles help with portability as the unit is quite heavy. The unit cools a large room well without difficulty. It is relatively quiet. It is easy to unpack and assemble. The two downsides are a relatively short hose, which does not allow for positions beyond the window housing the hose. Also the insulating foam is very flimsy and tears easily. I suspect it will not last very long after exposure to the elements. Much heavier duty weatherstripping would been better.
Unknown –
Amazing product, I would definitely recommend purchasing!
Gilly1961 –
This portable ac works very well. If you start with an already hot room it takes half hour to an hour to really get it cool. Of course how big the room is. Once cool it keeps the area cooler. I bought this though for the Wi-Fi so I could turn it on at work and by the time I get home it’s cooler. I have to say that so far and I’ve used it a few times that it worked great.
Anne10Solo –
This air conditioning does its job if it’s no warmer than 85 degrees out. It has leaked since the day I got it, and LG support has been useless.
Janice –
Having trouble keeping the temperature from staying at the number I set it at. It continues to cool several degrees below that.
Reviewer7813294 –
Does fine at cooling the room. Also does a pretty good job at dehumidifying in the dry mode, although remember it will also cool the room so it doesn’t work if it’s cold and damp.
I find the app helpful to turn it on a little while before I head home from work. It’s not very intuitive, but it provides the options to change all the settings, and I didn’t have any problems with setup.
It’s quieter than other air conditioners, but that’s very noticeable.

This is ridiculous. I tried to order this twice each time it was available on the website after some time both orders were canceled to do item delay. If it’s not available don’t have it on your website.
