When my washing machine finally bit the dust I asked my appliance repair lady which machine would be the best one to replace it with. She told me to get an LG. Very efficient washer! Normal Cycle only takes 37 Minutes to complete. Our not-so-old Samsung that failed us took close to an hour. What a difference! Our Daughter has had LG appliances for quite a while and has had no problems. Highly recommend the LG appliances

Next to the soap draw is a downward facing water jet for some rinse cycles.
Great machine.
Only thing I wish, could choose HOT Wash with Speed wash (29 mins), love the feature, makes washing much faster.

I have had this washing machine for 1.5 years now and I hate it.
1. It often doesn’t add the correct amount of water. For full loads of clothes I have to hit ‘add water’ once when starting it (since there isn’t an option to do it twice), wait for it to fill, pause it and hit it again. If I don’t, some of my clothes will be so far above the water that they are not even all that wet and definitely not getting clean. For heavier things, or if I do a pre-rinse making things wet at the start of a wash cycle, it will add too much water and there is no way to stop it (without pulling some wet things out, waiting for it to fill and putting them back in, which I don’t generally do because… seriously??). I will never again buy a machine without a water level setting knob.
2. The water temperature settings are ‘cold’, ‘warm’, and ‘hot’. But warm is definitely cool, not warm. So there is no warm setting.
3. If you pause the wash cycle for any reason and don’t re-start it again within 5 minutes it will drain all of the water and there is no way to stop it. Running a hot wash? I hope you have large water heater to re-fill it. I learned fast to just not do that, but it is extremely inconvenient when I want to scrub a stain or have it be quiet for a little while for a kid’s nap or something.
4. Not having an agitator makes it really easy to get off balance. General loads are usually fine, but no matter how much I try to load things balanced around the drum as I should, my loads of towels and sometimes other things get off balance. To ‘fix’ this, the machine will just re-fill, swish, drain, and try to spin again. Before I realized this happens I had a load run a few extra rinses once. Now I just never run it when I am not around and go re-balance it by hand.
I might be forgetting something.
The pro is that it can run a really large load being 4.5 cu and not having an agitator, but I still would never, ever buy this machine again. Or one with so many ‘smart’ features really at all because it just makes it so awful!

I found the machine I wanted at a very reasonable price. The salesman informed me about other parts I would need for proper installation. They offered a reasonable delivery date, which I accepted. The machine was delivered and installed on the specified date and time, and done properly. The installers even ran a cycle to verify that everything was working properly. When everything was done, they removed my old machine. The installers were very careful when they brought the new machine in and when they took the old machine out. This was a good experience.

We bought this washer and the matching dryer (gas versions) almost a year ago to the day. At first the washer was awesome, and it was so smooth and quiet it seemed to not even be running compared to the old one (that had lasted about 10 years before being replaced with this.) But lately the spin cycle is not balanced. It shakes terribly and is very noisy, but is not stopping or giving the UE unbalanced load error. The tubs seems to tilt tot he right no matter what. The unit is standing straight, and I can only get the tub to balance center by tilting the washer to the left side at an exaggerated level. I expect with this level of vibration during spin it’s only a matter of time before it starts causing problems. I guess we’ll see how it goes but I probably won’t buy another similar design from LG next time. My old cheap GE set that proceeded this lasted a decade without any problems. Stuff just isn’t made to last anymore.

I’ve had this washer for about five months now, and am still amazed at how much laundry it can hold. It’s literally cut my trips down to the basement, where my laundry room is, in half because I can do in one load what used to take two, sometimes three loads to do! And, the clothes come out clean! The impeller drive, in lieu of the traditional agitator is fantastic! No more ripped and ruined clothes! I had a Maytag HE front load washer about eleven years old that starting leaking, I LOVE my new washer!!

The washer worked quite well for a little over 2 years and then it started to stop at the 24 min and again at the 19 min
with an ie code I’d rearrange the clothes and somethimes it would finish the wash and rinse and other times I’d have to repeat the process, each fail showed the IE code we had repair men out twice changed the filters and the mother board and the problem continued finally we gave up and purchased a new machine I would not recommend this washer to anyone

We have had a lot of problems with the washing machine. The dryer works well. The washhing machine has quit working randomly and thrown various error codes. Worst of all is occasionally our clothes start getting these opaque clear to white flakes all over them. We spend many cycles trying to clean the machine and vacuum out. Never had this problem with our old kenmores that lasted 20 years. Im sure its our fault somehow but not good.

Wish I could give it 0 stars. Absolutely the worst purchase I have ever made. Would you like to experience life as an early 20th century washer woman, walk around in dirty clothes you have put through a wash more than once, waste tons of water and watch your electric bill soar even higher? Then this is the washer for you! Doesn’t clean clothes so much as wet them and swish them back and forth in place. You can put something in there folded up and it will come out folded. Stains on your clothes. You’ll be scrubbing them out by hand and adding extra water and an extra rinse so the soap gets out, especially deodorant or not only will it not remove it, it will transfer it to other parts of the shirt or even other clothing. I am now stuck with this purchase of close to $3000 dollars (bought the dryer as well, see my other review) with tax, installation and service plan until I can afford to replace it. It get to debate which is more costly and time consuming, using these two large hunks of junk at home or going to a laundry mat. For large loads and items, i choose the laundry mat so that i can cut laundry down to one day instead of two. As a side note, if you are under 5’5″ or 5’6″ you’ll be standing on a stool and turning yourslef upside down to get clothes from the bottom.

We have had this washer for a little over a year, and I am happy to report that we are very pleased with this washer. It is well designed, has large capacity, and cleans clothes very well and gently. It is designed to be water efficient, and we have saved money on our water bills since replacing our admittedly very old washer (so it was probably a low bar). The washer was moderately expensive, but so far the quality of the washer seems to be worth the price.

This washing machine is only 3 years old and for the past year, there has been a foul-smelling odor coming from the drum. I run the “tub clean” setting and it still has a bad odor in addition to having residue adhere to the drum. I would not recommend this washer!

Less than 3 years of ownership. The intake valve fails and the repair would cost $500 and takes 10 days to get parts. Original purchase was $720. Ridiculous and wasteful. No more LG products in this home — i want to stop sending them to the landfill.

Main board failed at 33 months. Repairman told me that the top loading LGs are more difficult to diagnose than the front loaders. Also, that the main board may have taken out other components, but we won’t know that until we install a new main board because IT supplies power to the other components! It was a good washer while it lasted, but this is unacceptable. Repairman also said to just buy the least expensive washer you could from now on, as they are ALL susceptable to any kind of power glitch that can take out these delicate components.
