    I tried several times to get it to work even had geek squad work on it and it would not work after downloading. Ended up returning it, not sure if I had a bad one or not but never had the chance to decide if i liked it or not

    Nice little unit for the price. My new computer didn’t come with a drive so I wanted to get an external which this is, but I didn’t realize that it is labeled as ‘portable.’ This is fine it’s just a lot smaller than what I thought I was getting but it does the job nicely.

    Have not used extensively. So far, so good. No problems with audio or video applications. Photographs which reside on CD/DVDs are viewed okay.

    LG does it again, small,light,and just great. A small piece of velcro and stick it any where,have to move it just pick it up and go. Will fit easily in your laptop carrying case. Best Buy,the place to go. JS

    This external DVD/CD read/write drive is perfect for a modern computer. Nowadays DVDs/CDs seem to be going away. But this is a good cheap alternative to buying an internal drive for your pc. Best of all it can be easily unplugged and reinstalled in another computer if you have multiple computers. It’s not the fastest read/write disc drive out there but it’s fast enough.

    Setup and use is easy. Not really much to say it just works and its inexpensive.

    This exterior E drive works perfectly to copy dvds and play dvds
    They come out perfect and do what I bought my HP to do
    Very annoyed with Microsoft for making a decision that I didn’t want
    This fixed it! Yeh!!!!

    Although I was assured that this would connect to my laptop, it did not as an adapter was required. I had an adapter for my MacBook pro and it fit, so I returned this item

    Does what it’s supposed to do. Very easy to use. Ripping CDs is kind of slow, but reading discs (e.g., for installing software) seems quite fast. You do have to support the disc tray when you put the disc in – that part seems a little flimsy.

    I admit that a CD/DVD is old school these days, but I have a number of CDs and DVDs that I want access to, and I am not enamored with streaming. While I will likely use the write option very little, I still like having it available. The installation of this device was old school also, using a disc, and using the earlier version of Windows Media Player, but that is easy to use. No regrets.

    This product seems to work just fine.

    My only concern was that a first accidentally bought an internal drive. The salesperson did not realize that the one I was going to buy was an internal drive and it was not clearly marked, Then I was told I had to physically go to the store where I had purchased it to return it. This was inconvenient as it was, but what if I had been out of town when Ipurchaased it.

    Basing my scoring on the one I’m using. However, I purchased two – one for my work desktop computer and one for my husband’s computer. Mine worked great with no issues, but we couldn’t get the other one to work with his desktop computer.

    I bought this LG CD/DVD burner to use with a new laptop. I tested it by burning a scuba diving instruction video onto DVD-R media and this DVD plays on the DVD player that’s connected to my HDTV! So there’s no doubt that it works flawlessly!
