    My family recently relocated to an area of the country that is known to have wildfires. I wanted to get ahead of the season and purchase a couple of air purifiers. I had never heard of Levoit, but I had seen it featured a few times on “best purifier” lists. I figured we could give it a go. The Levoit MetaAir works very well and is simple to use.

    The Levoit is packaged well and we received ours with no issues out of the box. The unit is well padded and comes with instructions and a HEPA filter. Installation of the filter is very simple. The cord is fairly long so you should be able to plug it in a few feet away from where you intend on using it.

    The top of the unit sits the control panel that is illuminated by LED. There are a few modes that you can select and fan speed “buttons”. Everything is capacitive touch so there are no physical buttons. There is an air quality status ring that will light up red, yellow, or green depending on the current conditions in your home. To top it off, there is an “automatic” button that will cycle the purifier based upon those conditions. This works well when we cook as it will automatically remove smoke or orders.

    The unit itself is on the bigger side and does need a bit of space around it to work efficiently. We currently live in a 3 level townhome and the Levoit is able to take care of almost all our needs on the middle floor. I believe it would be able to take care of the entire floor if we had a more open floor plan and/or were able to place the Levoit in the center of the floor.

    Thankfully we have had it easy this fire season so it hasn’t seen much action aside from the previously mentioned cooking.
    The air in our house smells pretty clean. I would recommend this unit to friends/family who are seeking an air purifier.

    It looks real clean and sleek. Very quiet on the lowest setting, but it can get really loud when the red light turns on indicating the amount of pollutants in the air. I also thought it would made a noticeably difference with my allergies, but so far I cannot tell.

    I purchased this air purifier for use in a large basement that is only partially finished. The “dust” from the cement would routinely kick up and make it difficult to breath, but this machine has done a nice job of almost eliminating that.

    So i was skeptical at first. However, after purchasing and giving it for about 1 month i noticed a considerable difference in air quality and also dust in the air during the summer. Wish the filters were less expensive but despite that fact i would highly recommend them.

    I was hesitant to spend so much on something like this, but I am glad I did. My allergy symptoms have improved. I have been surprised with how sensitive the sensors are. Sometimes even cooking dinner will result in the indicator ring turning green or even yellow briefly before the air flow is automatically increased (I leave it on auto). The filter lasted just over 6 months before the indicator light came on notifying me it was time to change it. Note: I have a cat.

    The purifier was super easy to set up and run. Also super quiet. My only concern is that I have wall to wall carpet and two cats. I fully expected for the air quality to reflect the pet dander and anything stirred up by vacuuming (as my dad’s allergies go crazy when he visits)… but it never did. According to the display, the air quality was always great. I moved the unit to various rooms to see if there was ever a change. The only time it ever changed was when I was cooking pies for Thanksgiving and some filling bubbled over in the oven. Solid red level air quality was indicated while the air cleared.
    Since the indication was that I did not have need of air purifying, I returned the product after 3 weeks.

    Excellent! I change the air filters in my home regularly. My home is cleaned thoroughly frequently and I have a Dyson air cleaner, cleaning the other side of the house…. This machine STILL managed to pick up so much dust and particulates from the air that the filter was noticeably dirty after only six months of use. I leave the machine running in auto mode and rarely ever hear it working. In light of the wild fires in socal, I bought the machine and now have even more confidence that air quality in my home will be fine.

    Seems to work fine. When the air quality changes (cooking meals) the purifier adjusts it’s fan speed to clean the air. The replacement filters are expensive and I’m not sure if they are as good as the original filter that comes with the purifier. The replacement filter looks like it doesn’t have as much of the carbon as the original filter; you can see light coming through the carbon filter on replacement filter while the original filter does not allow any light to be seen.

    This air purifier gets the job done, it exceeded my expectations. I have a cat that sheds a lot and this air purifier eliminates cat hair and dust particles leaving my house with a fresh clean smell. It is quiet, good quality and easy to use. Love that it has many features. This was worth the purchase.

    While large and bulky, it’s not excessively loud on the lower settings. It definitely pulls a lot dust and dirt out of the air. Works best if you vacuum the outside of the filter every month until its time to replace it. Unit is difficult to clean though.
