As it was a very cold winter I am sure glad I purchased this small but very powerful heater.I have a small apartment,it is a just plug in machine no problems it works great I will purchase another as a back up.very satisfying product.try not to get to close I found out the hard way. The heater doesn’t quite reach its advertised 1500 watts of output. Testing with the Kill A Watt P3, it reached a maximum value of ~1407 watts after 10 seconds and then drops down to and stays at 1360 watts. This is equivalent to 4,640 BTU/hr.
Low setting uses around 910 watts on average.
It uses 1.2 watts while idle and does display a red (not bright) LED when turned off.
It DOES NOT come with a Test/Reset (ALCI/GFCI) plug, which you may have seen on some youtube reviews (see Model CD08200) of this unit where they use it in a bathroom.
Measures around 58dB around 1 foot away, 52dB 2 feet away. 43dB at 9 feet away. I would consider it quiet but noticeable, and a source of brown noise which some may find helps them sleep. Mine does not rattle or have any harsh noise to it that I would find distracting.
Wasn’t sure to rate 4 or 5 stars, but will give it the 5 as it is compact and powerful, is not too loud, and seems well designed overall.

I know this little is limited to high, low, and medium for one hour. That’s actually my favorite setting and I love that it has one. I bought another room heater that’s smaller with the same output. But I haven’t bothered to take it out of the box because I like this one some much. It’s been a mite chilly these days and this little is saving me the $200 heating bill to heat up a whole house when I just need it for me.

My wife and I use it when we are playing cards in our breakfast room. It’s just as you might think.
But surprise it’s as powerful as all get out . the timer it super shuts off when we leave the room. Warms the room just fine

This is an ordinary if not an inferior heater. The design is terrible – no handle, and it looks cheap. Options are few and I agree with those who say it simply doesn’t put out much heat. The saving grace: it’s cheap. But shame on me for buying this without really researching it because there are much better options out there. Next time I’ll go back to Honeywell.

The temperature variation is too slight. It shuts off intermittently and I have to reset. When it is set on low and stays on it warms the area effectively.

Seems to be excellent but this 8500 model is a “dry environment” heater. There is a 8200 model available at other retailers that is a “bathroom” heater, with an ALCI plug that is safer around water environments. So if you want to use this near a sink/tub/etc, look for the 8200 elsewhere. Best Buy might consider offering both of the models, as they are pretty much exactly the same but different uses in different kinds of rooms.

Great little portable heater. I use it in my bathroom currently but it will also so use during camping trips next fall. It does a great job and puts out a lot of heat.
