I tried to connect a VGA monitor to a desktop (NUC) and figured it would work because there’s an HDMI outlet. It did not work. I even called Best Buy tech support and they said it might not work with some computers. I purchased another brand’s adapter and that worked fine.

I had to have this device because my monitor is VGA. This computer did not have a VGA connection (old one did have a VGA connection). Just plugged it in to a HDMI connection and my old VGA cable. No problems.

Does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Used for an older projector that doesn’t have an HDMI input. Once powered up, it was immediately recognized as a second display by my laptop. No weirdness, no display issues. Just a simple straightforward device that does its job. Just remember it’s a male HDMI and female VGA so you may need to supply a VGA cable if you don’t already have one lying around…

The geek squad were of great help. I was needing to find a way to connect my monitor to my PC. When removing monitor from the box I did not verify the most important thing the cable type. The monitor can only connect with a VGA port. The PC being newer it came with no VGA port. The monitor and my computer were not a match. This adapter saved me time and money. It works wonderfull and was easy to connect to the monitor.
