Dishwasher was on sale….bought it and put in p/u truck took it home, Next simply pulled out the old dishwasher, unplugged the elecrical wiring, pulled out the old unit which is surprising light. Next hooked up the 2 electrical wires to where I took the old units, then slipped in the bedable drin line and pushed the whole unit in and secured with s sreww on each front side. Turned the water backon under the sink and the whole job was done in about 15 minutes,
Unit fired right uo. We ran 2 empty loads to remove any plastic or metal shavings and it has run quite and smooth sine! Does a great job oneverything and anything!

This dishwasher has been amazing so far. The 3rd rack is game changing – being able to put all of our silverware up there and freeing up more space in the bottom rack allows us to put more in, especially extra pots and pans that we otherwise wouldn’t be able to fit usually. And larger utensils also fit on the top rack easily. If you do keep the classic silverware holder in the bottom, it is modular so you can take part of it out and give yourself at least a little more room in the bottom rack if you want. But so far, we just removed it entirely and haven’t run out of silverware room yet.
The bottom rack also has a flip up support to hold tall items like cutting boards or large pans. This is super useful, don’t have to lean that stuff against other plates or items to keep them from falling over anymore. I hope it stays solid (since it can be flipped down, it isn’t a fixed support), but it does feel like it will last and not wear out. Some of the other bottom rack supports can be flipped down too, but I don’t think that is much of a help in most cases since basically everything will fit decent enough on the supports, and it is nice to have them there to keep things in place better with less likelihood of banging into other items.
I like that it doesn’t have a handle sticking out the front for kids to hang on or to press against when standing by the counter, it can sit flush with the edge of the counter which I think looks really nice. And the inside is stainless steel so staining and smelling shouldn’t be an issue.
It is much quieter than our old machine. Not as quiet as I have heard some other higher end machines, but more than acceptable for us, we can watch a movie in the next room which is basically joined and it doesn’t drown out the sound anymore.
It doesn’t have a super annoying end of cycle song that plays, so you can delay the start for at night and not worry about it waking someone up.
The only issue I had was installing it, and it wasn’t a problem, just a difference that the initial install in our home didn’t account for future machines. This dishwasher doesn’t have as much empty space beneath it (probably why there is room for the 3rd rack??) so I had to drill new holes farther back closer to the wall for the electric, water, and drain to the basement since I couldn’t slide back in using the old holes. It wasn’t really a problem, just a minor install difference that was easy to accommodate – and is completely worth getting the extra space inside the tub for the 3rd rack!

It is a great machine. Works just fine with no issues, but about two years after purchase, the baskets started rusting on their own. They are literally falling apart. Very poor quality. If you are buying this, get the extended warranty.

I love this dishwasher. I had a similar one from a different brand, but moved and ended up with a really bad dishwasher. I was very happy to see this one at a great price when the bad dishwasher broke.
It’s very quiet compared to the broken one, and it’s nice to not be on the other side of the house and hear the dishwasher.
The filter is very easy to clean, and the stainless steel tub is really nice.
The organization of the racks and tines is really nice, and has lots of options for reorganization.
It has lots of cleaning options, and I’ve found that even the express option cleans really well.

I cannot speak to longevity as we only got the dishwasher a week ago. But it is a great performer. I have generally bought midlevel Whirlpool units in the past, and this was a similar cost to another of them… but it’s much quieter, cleans better, dries MUCH better, and has the very useful 3rd rack! We are very pleased so far.

Dishwasher seems fine, but delivery was a mess. Ordered from a Best Buy because we have total tech, but they had to come out three times to install and had a different story each time. First it was the water shut off valve, had already had a plumber check it and had one come back out to confirm, added expense I didn’t need. Then the floor had to be pulled up to install new dishwasher. When they could have removed top board without having to do that. Another added expense. Then they did not have room on truck to haul away so put in our garage and never picked it. Calling to get haul away refunded. Worst experience ever.

A well built, quiet and useful appliance. The third rack is handy and the adjustability is very worthwhile. As did other users, we found condensation in the compartment was high unless rinse-aid was used. No real problem if the dispenser for rinse-aid is refilled every few weeks. Also it helps to leave the door slightly ajar when It has been unloaded. That also makes it easier to put new dirty dishes in as they’re used, rather than unlatching the door every time. The stainless steel interior is so much nicer than the plastic interiors of, some of, our previous dishwashers

This dishwasher does a VERY good job at cleaning and it’s very quiet.
However, if I had to do it again, I would probably go with a different model. This insignia model is very geared towards plates and not so much for pots and pans. It has way too many plates slots.

Bought 2 years ago and the dish racks are falling apart due to rust. The machine continues to function properly which is the reason for the 2-star rating. I can’t recommend this dishwasher as I will need to replace the racks outside of the short 1-year warranty. It has heated drying which is nice but the tops of glasses still don’t get dry.
