I give this a one just for its looks. It works when it wants too and then when you troubleshoot it auto-prints 4 pages of your ink with directions to do what you have already done. unplug it once a week and restart and you are good

don’t waste your money on this, runs out of ink super quick, if you replace ink, it always runs a print test but wastes half the ink in the process. always seems to in an error state. works for a few minutes before erroring again.

If you’re desperate, this will work. It will print but it’s slow, clunky and below average print quality. In addition, the cartridges are crazy expensive if purchased in store and an irritating $5 per month if you use the HP insta-ink plan. If you only need to print occasionally, this print is suitable.

Unfortunately the printer doesn’t connect to the laptop without a wire; the multiple scanning/printing doesn’t function as it scrunches up the paper and jams/stops working (be careful not to rip the paper when taking it out!); but if all you want to do is print and scan one-at-a-time, it’s perfect! Bought for emergency medical documentation printing/scanning, not quite happy with the purchase. Very frustrating.

We bought this in a pinch before traveling. It was a nightmare to install and I have had to reinstall my Dell laptop a dozen times. I can’t get it to work with my mother’s desktop at all. Intrusive software requires you to be online and connected through HP apps, with your data also shared with Google and Adobe. I tried setting up without agreeing to any data transfer and was simply unable to proceed. (It may be possible, but not for this reasonably experienced computer user.) Purchase price seems relatively low–because of course *you* are the product and you also get killed on the ink. Dinky cartridges last about five minutes, what a waste of resources. Our last HP inkjet printer 4630 was a dream. It lasted over 10 years, had full scan/print functionality including double sided and auto feed. A good experience overall which is why we turned to HP this time. Never again. HP has lost this customer for life.
