Works well! heats up really really fast and easy to use.

  2. BigHossCartright

Fantastic item as it does not cause the burner to heat unless a pan is on the burner. Great for a warmer also. Very easy to control an even temp.

  3. lzri

It turns our Kitchenette into a fully functional kitchen and boils water super fast. It’s also really easy to clean. We’d absolutely buy it again.

  4. Rono

Just love cooking with this, a great addition to the Tiki

  5. bjones

We have too many stainless steel pans that we like to use so had to return it.

  6. Meow

It heat up and down fast with an easy touch of a buttom

  7. Anonymous

Absolute garbage. Doesnt maintain heat, randomly seems to stop working. You would be better off with a magnifying glass on a cloudy day to cook your food.

  11. SarahN

I love this! Great quality, cooks super fast, and easy to use. I really like that it has two functions to choose from: By power or by temperature. Would definitely recommend.

  12. oldschooldebugger8bit

Wonderful control for temp.Amazing speed by not wasting thermal energy.Love the cooktop and haven’t used my stove at all.

Purchased this to set up temporary kitchen in basement during remodel. Absolutely outstanding and works considerably faster than a standard ceramic electric cooktop. If your cookware is magnetic on the bottom, then this will work great. It’s fast, powerful, and great from fry to simmer.

Be aware that if you get Induction Cookware for this that you get the right size. I got an induction cookware kit and could only use 2 out of 5 of the Pots and Pans for this. My guess is because they were smaller than the inner ring or lined up with it which was too small since it moved out of alignment while cooking. Other than that it works great.

Our next range is almost certain to be induction, and I wanted to get the hang of cooking with it; I had some reward certificates piled up, so I thought I’d get a portable 1-burner cooktop to try out. This was one of the top contenders on several review sites.
First of all, be aware that induction cooktops do NOT work with non-magnetic cookware! All-aluminum won’t work, and (surprisingly) a lot of stainless steel won’t work either. If a magnet will stick to the bottom of your pot or pan – Hamilton Beach helpfully includes a magnet for testing – it should be just fine.
To keep from self-destructing, this unit will turn itself off within a few seconds if there’s nothing sitting on it, or if you try to use non-magnetic cookware.

Now that that’s out of the way – this unit lets you switch between multiple power levels OR target temperatures (you can switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit). I’m still experimenting to see which power levels work best for which foods; it’s like getting used to any new stove. At the higher levels, it brings a pot to a boil very fast indeed.

Induction cooktops (unlike gas or traditional electric) produce heat within the pot or pan itself, rather than heating from the outside; even so, the glass under the pot WILL get hot, so treat it with care for a few minutes after cooking. The cooktop itself also generates some heat, so it has an internal fan that starts a second before heating begins and runs for a few seconds after you turn the unit off; it’s not silent, but it’s not too loud either. Some cookware – especially if it’s made of layers of metal rather than one solid chunk of iron or steel – will make a buzzing noise while the cooktop is on; it’s a little surprising at first but totally normal.

My sweetie and I like to joke about “sweating over a hot stove”; one of the first things you’ll notice with induction is that ONLY the pot is getting hot – not the rest of the kitchen. That might be a little inconvenient in winter, but it’s very nice in the middle of a Los Angeles summer!

Great employees, great products. Was very easy to order and and pick up in the store.

  17. Nickels

5 star in all but one respect. Tends to heat in the center so for a larger pan you’ll have to adjust your cooking to accommodate. The surface gets hotter than an expensive induction stove… but I wouldn’t knock it down for that.

  18. EmilyT

Perfect size! Easy to tuck away. It heats up so fast and cools down so quickly. It would be great for an elderly person or anyone wanting a safe, convenient way to cook something and quickly.

  19. BeckyM

Buttons are a little touchy. They can change settings if you accidently brush over them and don’t appear to work if your fingers or hotplate are wet. Cooking is pretty even which isn’t true of all induction cooktops. Is great for cooking outdoors in summer so you don’t heat your living space! Would like to see Best Buy offer more variety of brands or at least explain their choice of this one.

  20. SusanR

Very pleased easy to use really heats up water fast

  21. ManishS

This is excellent and works well for our needs. Did not really find any issues I can complain for. Still giving 4 stars because its fan does sound quite a bit. Its little louder but does not annoy as such. Overall a great product.

Why do not even use the gas stove anymore?
It could’ve faster and better. A great tool for cooking

  23. Jermz89jv
