I recommend this bike computer. It was easy to configure with my Garmin Rally pedals and speed sensor. The display is a good size for me and easy to use the touch screen. The battery life is good with plenty of charge left after 200 miles of riding. Also, it was easy to mount on my handlebars.

I have the Edge Explore and liked that one, this one has more to it. I can use it on any ride and it is faster than my other one.

Upgraded from an old Garmin Edge Explore 1000, mostly for the larger screen and voice prompts. Use it on a road bike and am very happy with my purchase so far. Paired it easily with my ANT+ sensors and Garmin Edge Remote that came with my old Edge Explore 1000. For the price, I would have hoped a new one would have been included as well as a case, which is why I deducted a star.

Why use a cycling computer over a phone? Primary, they are way more accurate at tracking for GPS. Zoom into any recorded ride done on a cell phone and look how it jumps around. Cell phone GPS are designed to get you were you are to where you need to go. Bike GPS do that, but also make sure to record where you’ve been much more accurately, giving much more accurate distance, speed, ect. Better battery life, more durable in crashes. The Garmin computers can sometime be finicky with software, but overall this is an amazing computer that will last years. Often times they go on sale at places, so wait for those. Definitely get a heart rate monitor and cadence sensor with it. A power meter will also help you get the most out of it.

Cycle Computer is a great addition for tracking your metrics.
Packed with many features like Live tracking, which is great for someone else to monitor your ride, which I enjoy for safety. The Garmin Edge 1030plus is L 4 1/2″ x W 2 1/4″, which is about the same size as the older Garmin Edge 1000. The screen is bigger on the 1030 plus: 3″ x 1 3/4″, The edge 1000 screen is 2 1/2″ x 1 1/2″.
On my Bike the 1030 plus sits nice inside my handlebar. The 1030 plus setup was easy, because I already had a profile, all my activities just crossed over. Good touch screen with gloves equipped with sensitivity, good battery life. Would recommend
upgrading from an the older Garmin unit and adding the front light, UT800 and the rear radar unit Varia RTL515 for piece of mind if commuting on the streets.

The Garmin Edge is a must have if you’re an avid road biker as it not only measures your vitals, but is capable of providing local maps to help you navigate your way around town. Alerts keep you updated on different conditions. Only gripe – it’s a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

An amazing purchase that I can’t see me doing my cycling without. From the maps, to the connection to my phone, and even the tallying of my stats, this device does it all and more.
