Very user friendly GPS device with voice control, answers and makes phone calls with many more features.

Absolutely love this Garmin gps. I literally use this daily for work. Just put in gps coordinates and away we go. The fact that the updates are so easy to do to keep up to date on the road changes is awesome!!
The app completely interacts with it so nicely & the Bluetooth for the phone is great. Ha do this unit for around 2 yrs and still enjoying it to this day……

I bought this Garmin GPS just before heading out for Florida taking a different route than usual from Michigan. It worked great!
VERY nice display…larger than my previous device. Very good, clear instructions, quite user-friendly and easy to figure out without having to get into the ‘instruction book’.
I was a bit disappointed at the selection offered @ Best Buy, but I am happy with my new Garmin. It was a good choice.

the guide and instant directions you need to reach and be at your place at the exact moments you plan, catch it up on time
Kelvin –
Way better that the build in because it is easier to up date and they last for years. Gave my old one to my son. I wanted the new features on the new one.
DjWhaYoFac –
Very good product and extra connection to your phone without touching your gps with bluetooth
tina –
bought this for my daughter and she loves it. easy to use

I love this GPS with one exception. The phone connection volume is not loud enough to hear in a noisy car. So, I just use the phone with earbuds when I’m driving. I bought this for use in my 2012 Corvette, which is not a quiet car, I have no problem hearing the map directions.
Maps are good, connecting a smart phone is simple & keeping it updated is also very easy.
It does run warm on the left rear side.

Great buy. Got me to visit the in laws on Los Angeles.

We have had nothing but issues with this Garmin. The first one we purchased in May was returned and a new one was sent in August (2020) It is now January 2022 and it has completely quit. Will not power on. They should last longer than 18 months.

I am very satisfied with the purchase of the Garmin Drive-Smart 55. I recently found out it has voice command which has been great when in traffic.

gift for someone. not used by purchaser. it was on list.

We ordered this as a gift for our daughter. She is very impressed with the item and gets her to where she is going as she travels a lot to cities she has never been to.

This GPS was easy to set up & has been very easy to use. I feel confidant that I will get to my exact location in the least traffic.
ShortLife –
This already died so we threw it in the trash! The life of these is terrible!
Smiths –
This is really nice to have. The screen is perfect size. No bulky and is lightweight. I really like how it shows what lane to be in for exits.
mlenguyen –
The navigation system works great. Very handy as it doesn’t depend on the cellular data network to function and the big screen makes it easy to navigate by a glance.

This was a replacement for a Garmin I purchased about 10 years ago. This one is even better. It has more features and is always accurate. I update it regularly.
fun1 –
Not bad for a GPS if you don’t have a phone to use. The software is a bit outdated though so it is not the easily to use.
DavidB –
excellent easy to use interface. lots more f data, particularly enjoy the history function. Could be a little quicker to give turn directions but not terribly slow
SamF –
I could never get the software to update and the new maps to load

Garmin makes really good GPS . Very easy to follow their directions.
Uhaas –
Cell like to overheat and drain battery especially since iPhone 7 I don’t take any charger with me anymore. I had to send this device back to Garmin because I got software error and the replacement wasn’t that great. Have now three yellow dots what don’t show strongly. I didn’t had time to complain again. Least it’s working
Mrgtp –
Nice little gps. Screen size is perfect. Overall easy to use. Definetly recommend it
JoanK –
Husband wanted for the car so we do not use the phone, Garmins are quality products, this one is exceptional.
John –
Love my Garmin I use it everyday for work this is my third or forth one over the many years and I’ve always come to Best Buy I’m very happy
Eli23 –
Very accurate GPS. Loud enough to hear while driving commercial trucks.

If cell phones are water resistant for $700.00 this item should be. I ride atv snowmobiles and good working gps helps. Its gonna get wet. For this price is it worth it? Or better of with your cell phone and down load an app for trails that cost maybe $50.00. Going into deep back country where theres no cell tower it might be worth the money. But if you get it wet then what. Better have some survival skills.

The Garmin DriveSmart 55&Traffic GPS is a great buy! The picture is perfect and the data is perfect. If it an exceptional buy for the money!

User friendly with clear detailed maps, easy to use.
Great value for cost
WendyS –
I like this so far. Seems to do what I need since my new car requires a navigation subscription and I don’t have unlimited phone data.
user316720 –
It was easy to use and read. The price on Black Friday was a decibing factor.
Moosehead –
Just got my new Garmin installed and I am pleasantly surprised with all of the features on this unit.
DouglasT –
Put information from Zumo 660 onto this new GPS and so far it is working well.
Wooglin –
This unit replaced my 2006 Garmin Street Pilot and I am thus far pleased with it and all of the additional features. Map is more clear and I appreciate the split screen when nearing a route exit.
My only disappointment is that my unit’s software is VERY DATED…at least 26 Months old as my state completed re-numbering highway exit numbers August 19, 2021, and yet I bought a Garmin GPS in November 2023 that reflects the DATED exit numbers from PRE AUGUST 2021?? WHAT’S UP WITH THAT?
JulieB –
Works well and is easy to use and hear. Have not used the Bluetooth or traffic option yet, but have used on two 1-3 hour trips and it was useful.
Yeetus –
Interface is a little slow and clunky, overally good product though. Combines like 3 of my favorite qualities from 3 cellular apps. Much prefer this over relying on my phone.

I have been a couple places where Google Maps got me lost. I don’t know why. It was consistent near Arizona Mills Mall, for example. I had an older Garmin, and it was able to get me through. When I broke my old, faithful, GPS, I wanted a new one. This is perfect.
Another reasoning for me is that I like to have my phone handy when I am in a rental car. I might have it on the passenger seat, where it’s rotating around. That’s not good for navigation purposes.
I was worried it might not have the same quality as my older unit. It is. It has the split views, which I find very helpful I actually prefer the screen display. I used it recently on a trip. It was nice for the rental car, because I could mount the GPS, and my phone could be on the passenger seat.
It does connect to my phone app for traffic. I haven’t had any issues with that. It can be updated via WiFi. I used my PC and USB, and it was much faster than estimated.
I find it a little more tedious for finding an address or business. That’s the other reason I want my phone free. I still use my phone to get the address, and then I type it into the GPS.

Works awesome would recommend to anyone looking into getting a gps.
GaryW –
Works very well for the money. I bought it for a trip to St. Louis. It took me to where I wanted to be. Much less stress, when you have a heads up on what lane to be in.
Linda –
Love this updated version. It really helps to see the actual road instead of just green/pink lines. Less grievance on a wife watching her husband drive.
Great –
This farming is great my mom uses it for all her travels. She has an older car really can’t use her GPS on her phone.
paul –
Not as nice as my old nuvi 265. I like my old one better.
ChuckG –
I love seeing the notifications that hit my phone including text messages.
AnthonyJ –
Big improvement over the NUVI. Easy to use and data entry was easier.
GettingThere2024 –
Everything needed was found in the box. My wife followed the steps to get it running. Used once or twice so far, seems to work fine.

I purchased the “Garmin – DriveSmart 55 & Traffic – 5.5″ GPS with Built-In Bluetooth – Black” to replace my old 20 year old
GPS. I love this new Garmin. I have entered several addresses into my “saved” list, including my home address. Then, with voice activation, all I have to say is ‘Hey Garmin…Go Home’ (or another saved location) and it routes me there from what ever location I’m at. No fiddling around with pushing buttons while driving. If I decide to take a different route, it will automatically synch to another route option as I’m driving. I have found the directions to be very accurate. It also reminds me with audible ‘dings’ when the speed limit changes. It also shows on the screen the estimated time of arrival. The 5.5″ screen is just the right size, as it is big enough to see all of my info without obstructing my view in my front windshield. I highly recommend this GPS.
