    The unit is backed by a company with a solid reputation in the business.
    I LOVE the customization options.
    My only quirk- I can’t decrease the volume enough. LOW is still LOUD !! I guess that is good because you can hear it over music, phone, kids, etc.
    But what if a baby is sleeping on the way to Grandma’s?

    Looks good; sounds great; solid build, etc … But for me, it did not meet expectations.

    Simple: Long straight stretch from Las Vegas to PDX, multiple instances of no ‘contact’ from LE vehicles. It picked them up about a mile or so away & slowing down from 90+ to 70+ in a few seconds is not happening.

    Another example: Driving down 5 from pdx to cali, just out of Salem, straight stretch, passed LE & within a few seconds, I could see flashing lights on my rearview mirror. Luckily for me, the RV behind was following me at the same rate of speed & got tagged!!!.

    Lots of false alarms & this could be due to most of the cars having gazillion sensors around them; but still …!!!.

    IMO, I think this unit would have been the cat’s meow several years back; but in today’s time, it is jaded.

    YMMV .. literally. This unit gives the user a false (sic) sense of protection imo.

    If you get a ticket, you were warned to slow down.

    Great detector for the price, only one drawback! The cord supplied is too short for our car, we resolved it by buying the longer cable from the manufacturer’s website. Yes it was an added cost to us but worth it.

    The X80 is a legit detector for the price but the Escort Max 360 will provide significantly less false alerts and is such an upgrade over this detector. If you’re on a budget the X80 gets the job done every time.

    The “quality” and ease of use of the item are great, the false alert filtering is the real weak link here.

    I’ve had this for over a year and it serves its purpose. For the price, I can tolerate a few false alarms. Honestly, the occasional false alarm reminds me to keep my speed in check! Ha! But it is key to keep the app open on my phone while driving, thus connected via Bluetooth. It quiets the alarm within a couple seconds. This is good if you’re like me, and immediately check your speed. But some folks like the persistent loud alarm until they pass the radar. Up to you. I like that I can look at the display to see what I don’t want to hear. I do end up unplugging it in parking lots, though, because the false alarms are constant in those areas. But for the price, this is worth it. The next step up is too expensive. Only real complaint is that the Escort Live app on my phone is a big battery drain. I have to remember to close the app when I leave my car. All in all, though, a good affordable device.

    Good performance out of the radar detecting. But this radar detector isn’t even close to the quality of the passport max. I got tired of this thing after a few months when it wouldn’t shut up everytime I passed an auto door, or some spots on the highway that have radar. The max would learn those spots. It’s just a nuisance to have a radar detector that doesn’t do the same thing because it’s always making noise for no reason.
