GReviewer –
I am very pleased with this purchase. I needed speakers to stay connected to my main Alexa unit which is an Echo Show. I wanted speakers that were very powerful and loud but I also wanted the output to be great quality sound. I tried many and I do mean many of the big name Bluetooth speakers on the market = Bose, Anker, JBL, Klimpsh, Aiwa. I even tried a different, cheaper, set of Edifiers. But all fell short in one or more of my main requirements:
Loud
Good sound with little to no distortion at high volumes
Bluetooth capable with standard variety of other connection options
NO auto sleep or power off function (or the ability to turn the function off)
No feedback during standby (meaning if I’m not playing anything and I put my ear to the speaker, I shouldn’t hear humming or buzzing noises)
Well balanced highs and lows so that i don’t have to adjust these each time I change genres
But The Edifier S3000 Pros nailed it!! I’m excited about them because, seriously, I tried a lot. But one thing I realized during the search for this sound need and others, is you have to know what you want. This situation didn’t require something portable so the continuous power supply works well for this situation. By the way, both speakers have power cords and the two speakers auto connect wirelessly so there is no cord that tethers the two together. ANOTHER PLUS! But this type of speaker may not work well for your situation. That’s why I’m including all this detail because I wish I would have found this review earlier in my search.
The one negative I have isn’t really about the speakers it’s that I ended up having to by the speaker stands for these and they were not cheap. I considered getting a universal or off brand stand but in the end I got the ones specifically made for these because of the quality, which the Edifier stands are very good quality. I just wish they were included with the speakers with little to no extra cost (Dream on right)
Please excuse typos; I wrote this at red lights. Yeah, yeah – stop honking

Believe the hype. Clarity, power and clean bass. Pair it with Tidal master tracks and you will hear amazing detail. Negative- The remote control is too; small and difficult to see in bright or dim light.

I consider myself to be an audiophile and great sound quality is important to me. That’s why I was willing to drop the cream for these speakers and it was worth my money for sure. I love deep bass and these babies deliver. Almost like subwoofers. They’re rated as low as 38Hz but they actually pick up frequencies lower. Before these speakers, I have some Aiwa speakers for 23 years that were rated as low as 50Hz. They were awesome speakers, and these Edifiers are a step up with deeper bass and more mid clarity. I watched a movie for the 1st time on them the other day, Bautista’s Army of the Dead, and it was like I was in a movie theater. I love these speakers

Perfect for my bedroom. Had Klipsch “The Fives” for my stereo in the bedroom. Moved “The Fives” over to my cpu and my cpu speakers “svs powered monitors” to the garage. Hard to beat the planar tweeter in these edifiers and the 6.5″ aluminum mid is second to none. Produces good clean bass and crystal clear highs.

Unbelievable power and sound that comes from these speakers. I’ve got them paired with a Topping D30 Pro which is connected to my PC.
The amount of bass these put out is chest pouunding. I can’t recommend these anymore. These are legit endgame speakers for most. Just buy them.

These speakers are awesome! Amazing sound quality! Highs, lows, and everything in between is crystal clear! Price isn’t bad at all for the quality you get! I’m using them as computer speakers. Highly recommended!! Very happy!!

I got these speakers because they are wireless between each other, which is very convenient. I was placing them on either side of a fireplace and mantle so running a speaker wire would have been quite a pain and probably ugly as well. Of course each one has its own power cord, so they aren’t completely cordless, but it is very nice to not have that wire running between each other. Also they are self-powered so you don’t need an amp.
I must say, the sound is pretty awesome too. These are meant to be played pretty loud in my opinion–they just sound way better when cranked up. Out of the box I was a little concerned but once I played them for a few days and adjusted the settings and input a bit, things were great. I had to adjust the bass down a bit (they have a LOT of thump!) and the treble up a bit, and I put them on the dynamic setting. Also I use the USB port to either my computer or iphone (you’ll need to order a USB type B to lightning cable to connect to an iphone) and this sounds way better than Bluetooth.
Now when I listen to a live concert album on high volume it sounds like I am there. I wouldn’t say these are speakers for classical music lovers and the like, you have to want some volume. But if you’re looking for room-filling sound, in a powered speaker, with the convenience of no wires between the speakers then you have found your product!
My only complaints are that the remote is not of great quality (though convenient to have); the volume setting is not remembered when you power off the speakers (beware or you might blow your eardrums out!); and it’s hard or near impossible to tell what volume setting you’re on, which of the four sound settings you’re using, and even what input is selected. I don’t consider any of these dealbreakers but others may.

I have had a lot of really good speaker / audio sets in my time, though I don’t know that I would call myself an actual “audiophile”. But at the least I am pretty good at telling “cheap” vs actual quality sound. And at first, before they really got broken in, I guess I wasn’t completely blown away. Over time though, I’m realizing how truly incredibly clear and full these speakers are. They’re just amazing. I’m hearing lyrics I’ve never heard before, hearing high, mid, and low parts of songs I’ve been playing for 35 years that I never caught before, it’s just wonderful. There’s good bass, and just an overall fullness to the sound that is exactly what I wanted.
The best way for me to describe the sound quality is that when I increase the volume on these…they don’t really seem to get “louder”, like, to my ears. It’s almost visual, the sound gets BIGGER. It’s like the sound is a magical invisible entity that as you increase the volume grows in size, it’s crazy.
The features rock too. No cords connecting the speakers to each other is VERY nice (though they each have to be plugged in). Bluetooth connectivity is nice for convenience, and optical in is great for my TV / games.
Couple of small negatives, not enough even added together to remove a star:
I agree that the remote while stylish needs some help in that you CANNOT read the letters on it in anything but direct bright light (so you end up memorizing where the power, volume, etc are). Also another small nitpick – the instructions are extremely small and vague, and don’t really tell you what say “Dynamic” vs “Static” mode is (but trial and error will tell you that you want “Dynamic” every time).
Also, I really, really wish they were made in USA; I suppose it would have cost hundreds more if so, but I hate supporting sending $ overseas.
These were honestly a lot more $ than I wanted to spend. But they looked great, had stereo separation unlike a sound bar, didn’t need a subwoofer but have great bass, had bluetooth connectivity, and looked great, so I splurged. And I wouldn’t give them up for anything. This is how music should be heard, it’s exactly what I’ve been missing for a long time now since I gave up on my old ancient huge speakers for more modern attempts. Make the leap, you won’t regret it.

When I searched for computer speakers on the Best Buy site and sorted by highest priced first, these were at the top. They’re incredible! I echo what other reviewers have said about the detail these speakers produce in every range The bass is mind boggling in that respect. They’re worth the price.

Fantastic speakers eminating powerful, clear music. Hard to believe they are only bookshelf. Bluetooth works flawlessly from devices and turntable.
MontroseB –
Very nice speakers, lots of connection options, very good build quality and they look very nice they also sound good would buy again if i neefed more powered speakers.
MarcC –
Ridiculously good, I knew these were going to be good when the UPS guy handed me the box and the weight for their size was way heavier than expected. These are not your ordinary bookshelf speakers, the technology that’s built in for WiFi is spot on. Plenty of power and clarity, some say here that there’s a bit too much on the tweeter side, I can see that but as a older guy we do lose a bit of hearing of high-end sound naturally so this might be a good thing. I do recommend getting a 3rd party equalizer ( I use WAVE that came with the new DELL ) program to tweak the sound and your good to go.
I know these are a bit pricey and I wouldn’t tell anyone to buy these if they didn’t live up to the hype about the sound that comes out, but yeah these things are that good.

First let me say that I had really high hopes for these speakers. I read and watched reviews from around the web that give nothing but excellent marks for these speakers so at the least I was expecting to be impressed and maybe even blown away at the sound quality. That didn’t happen.
I have these hooked up to my PC which has onboard Realtek ALC1220 audio. Nothing high end but gets the job done. I was using Klipsch Pro media 2.1 speakers until they died and that is what I’m comparing my experience to.
These speakers sound flat and don’t have that full range of sound or low end bass that I’m used to. I tested listening to “HD” tracks from Amazon music. I tried everything thinking I didn’t have these setup right. Including hooking up through optical, USB and RCA to line-in (all included with the speakers). I upped the bit rate in windows, adjusting the bass and treble knobs, different equalizer settings on the remote control and even loaded the USB drivers from Edifier’s website. Nothing made a difference.
The more I listening to them, the more I missed my old Klipsch Pro media 2.1 speakers that are a fraction of the price and in my opinion, sound better. I returned these speakers in less than 48 hours they were such a letdown!

I love these speakers. The planar magnetic tweeter is the best sounding tweeter that I’ve ever heard. It sounds like the instrument or movie object making sound is in the room with you. Very respectable bass for the size of the woofers. They don’t go sub-deep so I’ve paired them with a sub (no sub out) by splitting the digital out. Keep them near mid level for treble and bass as they are DSP corrected and sound amazing as they are. Listen to music on dynamic, switch to classic or monitor for movies, and to vocal for shows that are hard to understand the actors. Works incredibly well. Absolutely blows soundbar options away. They sound great at low levels, but you can crank these up and the louder they get, the better they sound. It’s hard to find self- powered speakers that do not need a cable between them and this is an included benefit that I love with the s3000 pros. If you don’t need surround, and are looking for under $1000 you can’t do better than this Edifier set.

I used to think the Bose Companion 20’s were the best for years but i decided to give the Edifiers a shot since they were on sale for Black Friday and boy am I glad I gave it a chance. They’re almost 3 times the price but worth every penny. I played an accoustic sound test from youtube and fell in love. Hotel California sounds amazing as well. Audio is very nice and crisp yet simultaneously gentle. I will start saving to one day try their higher end speakers!
