  1. Shane

I didn’t think I would like this game as much as I have, but it’s been a delight to play. The world feels so alive because of the inhabitants which each have a unique personality. The monsters aren’t all evil. It feels so nice to build things instead of worrying about minmaxing a character or something. If you like RPGs and don’t hate building games, I think this is a great buy.

  2. Bashar92

Getting the game as a digital code is quick and nice.

I could never git into Minecraft since there was almost no story and no goals to drive me to play the game. This game fixes all that with a great story and adds Sims like behavior with having to keep the hero fed and keep the villagers happy with making them bedrooms, kitchens and dining rooms.

I love being able to build the buildings and little resorts for the villagers and it’s great to show off to friends and family.

Not as good as Minecraft or Dragon Quest. But it’s got its own thing going for it.

  5. Steebs

Minecraft meets dragon quest. A lot of fun with a cute story.

  6. Crunchytoast

I got it for $30. Fantastic steal. Hundreds of hours. It gets better when the world opens up

I am new to the Builders series, and not having ever played Minecraft, I had no idea how vast these types of games are. From my impressions, Dragon Quest Builders 2 is very similar to Minecraft but has a pretty in depth story in a similar vein as other Dragon Quest games. The main gameplay is building things. You start with a very limited amount of things you can build, and then you learn more through experimentation or progressing the story. The main story is about as long as an average JRPG (40-60hrs), I found myself deviating and building houses and architecture from my imagination just for fun. Obviously, if you’re a creative person, this game can take up many days worth of your attention just building things. The only downside is that you have to get through a bit of the story in order for the game to open up and give you total freedom, and then at the halfway point you start unlocking more things to build. Long-term, this is a fantastic game, but not a sandbox game to just jump right into and start building freely right away.

Awesome game! Super addictive Its like Minecraft but with actual goals in mind.
