Received my Dell monitor today. Excellent packing. Beefy DisplayPort, HDMI, and USB3.0 cables all included. No, it may not have hot buttons to change refresh rate on the fly, but there were no dead or stuck pixels, no noticeable blacklight bleed, and no quality control issues (grease splotches over crystals, hairs visible under the top film, etc.) like the other gaming monitor company. And I couldn’t argue with the $200 off Best Buy sale price. The 2k resolution just “pops”, compared to 1080p. But the thin bezel frame will take some getting used to, compared to the heavier frame of my old monitor. Okay, it took me about 30 seconds! Love it! 144hz (variable) refresh rate, Nvidia G-sync, and side & bottom 3.0 USB ports are all excellent. The monitor wobbles just a bit when plugging in a USB stick in the side port, but holding your hand on the far side eliminates the wobble. For gaming monitors, if you were considering Asus, take this Dell. Excellent Dell quality control.

So i called of my local Best Buy store (349) trying to purchase this product and was left on the line for 10 minutes without any answer ( happened multiple times) So I decided to go to Amazon.com at it was on sale for $599. This is why you guys are losing BBY! Step your game up and train your associates to answer calls and if they are busy then be sure to tell your customers.
Now onto the monitor:
G-Sync CHECK
1440p @ 144Hz CHECK and CHECK
1 MS RT CHECK
What more can you ask form a gaming monitor for the price? Really a great buy!

This Monitor is absolutely stunning, however the Quality control is lacking. The resolution and GSYNC feature takes gaming to a new level, but soon after setting it up it started showing the dreaded sleep mode defect that so many users have reported. Dell was less than helpful to send out a replacement, constantly giving me a run around, and replacement time for BestBuy was months away due to the need to special order it right from Dell. So, I sadly returned it. I would wait for the next models iteration before buying this.

Better than my Ben Q, And Asus I tried. For a TN panel it looks great even using it for other things like surfing the web. The angles of viewing are also great for a TN. I’d recommend to anyone that wants a lag free and non tearing screen while playing video games.
AbdielGlaze –
The reviews online wont do this device justice. It stands above all other screens I have ever used for gaming or movies. 10/10

I heard all of the talk about the deep sleep issue people have been complaining about. If you do a little googling this is an easy fix. Sleep needs to be turned off on the monitor and in Windows. This monitor doesn’t like waking from sleep mode so don’t let it go to sleep.
This is easily calibrated. Again some googling goes a long way in finding the right color settings for this display. After these few adjustments it’s the best monitor out there for spec/quality and the price.

Sharp color and resolution display quality. Easy set up.

I had previously purchased the S2417DG monitor and was planning on setting it up when I saw the S2716DGR went on sale for $349 at Best Buy, I waffled so hard ab out returning the 24 for the 27, and decided I would go see the 27 in store at my local best buy to be sure I was willing to accept the trade-off of slightly lower DPI for more real estate. Unfortunately, when I went to the store, they must’ve had the first revision of this monitor which had a horrible matte anti-glare screen surface which caused the image to look incredibly grainy regardless of the 1440p resolution. This caused me to decide not to get the monitor and I ended up missing the incredible sale. I then ended up finding an incredibly comprehensive review on pcmonitors.info which noted how the original matte finish had been replaced with a light matte finish in later revisions which completely got rid of the grainy look. After reading this, I saw the S21716DG go on sale again for $379 and decided to pick it up at that price and I couldn’t be happier (well I guess I could be slightly happier had I bought the S21716DGR for $349 3-4 weeks earlier).
The features and price point, when on sale, can’t be beat. I went from a 23″ 1080p 60Hz to this 27″ 1440p 144Hz GSync monitor and in my first game of PUBG I was already feeling like I was seeing my opponents better and had a better feel for the game. The image quality out of the box wasn’t as bad as many say, but I did tweak it a little bit; close to what others list for their settings, but not quite as dark – maybe I’m just used to a brighter screen or maybe I’m just not a fan of IPS panels, but at 25% brightness the screen just looked too dark for me when doing anything other than playing games, and even in games it was still a bit too dark.
Dell also has unbelievable customer service (they will replace your monitor for even a single dead/stuck pixel), so you can be comfortable knowing any issue you might have will be taken care of. I strongly feel like any of the negative reviews out there are for the early revision of this monitor when it first came out, so anyone buying this brand new today can buy with confidence.

This works great with the video card on my SurfaceBook 2 with PUBG
CaptainFatone –
Awesome monitor. Games look great
Got it on sale. .
Stubbum –
Great for gaming or movies or anything really. Only downside is limited viewing angles but it shouldn’t matter much if you’re using it as a desktop monitor.
jdrames –
So when this monitor is on sale it is an amazing bargain. You def will need to read up on adjusting the picture brightness and color levels to get it to that sweet spot. But once it’s there it looks incredible. The only downside to this monitor is that it’s pretty expensive when outside of a sale. However, it being a 2K 144hz G-SYNC monitor that’s to be expected. Anything G-Sync tends to pay a premium.
Vactor –
Well worth the price for a great gaming monitor. 4K would be the only step up I would recommend.
Sirgamer1 –
good price for a 27 inch 1440 144hz monitor recommended
Tichko –
I bought this monitor as a Daily Deal. It works great for my daily gaming at 1440p 144 HZ.
Patrick –
Very good monitor for the price. You can’t get anything better for the price and I have tested the g sync and it was amazing.
Cliff –
Best Buy is selling a old revision of this monitor, don’t purchase from them unless you want to deal with the color banding issues of the old revisions. If you get sent anything other than a revision A07, they sent you a defective model.
John –
This is really a great gaming monitor but not the greatest screen being a TN panel. I ended up exchanging for the LG 4K ips monitor since I only occasional play games on my computer.
KenInHouston –
I have a GSYNC capable card, but I was also looking for decent resolution at a larger than 21″ size, without the price of the specifically widescreen monitors. this is it.
CrazyJay –
Had to reorder it intially but otherwise has been looking amazing and making games looks great.
89496969 –
amazing product. amazing price.
best 27″ monitor. great.
Bleecker –
Great gaming monitor. Sync up works great with little to no game screen blurring. Must use your own speakers.
Danny –
My son told me tha he was happy to have this gaming monitor and he always play twich gaming Visayaa account please support him

For the longest time I could not get the colors right, but after going through Windows settings “calibrate color setting” is where you can fix it. Once that was done and I enabled G-Sync, everything slid into place. The monitor looks and operates beautifully. Videos and movies run great and games play perfectly. Note: not all games support G-Sync.
BigTimeGamer –
Monitor is beautiful. Resolution and refresh rate is great for the price.
First one I got was malfunctioning but best buy replaced it right away. Make sure you test thoroughly!
QKSILVR73 –
Picture quality isn’t great, but for Gysnc I love it. Stable frames is what I like.
KCJDub –
This monitor stepped up my gaming performance with the 144hz and great resolution. Border-less look let me create a triple monitor setup with almost no gap between the three monitors.
Jamie –
I really wanted to like this monitor as it checked all the boxes for my gaming need. g sync , 1440p, and 144hz. That being said ( typed) I just cant recommend this one.
Purchased Monitor withing 2 weeks had stuck pixel. I exchanged monitor ran dead pixel test, all was good. 2 days in another stuck pixel.Really liked the monitor for the price (399 on sale) so i decided to exchange it again …. 10 days in another stuck pixel.
I may be too picky but pixels that stay one color and wont switch really annoy me. Maybe i’m just unlucky but 3 monitors all with the same problem I returned the last one and will look for a monitor with better Quality Control.
dizee –
for $350, this was a complete steal. the monitor is huge with a crisp picture and the 144hz and 1ms response time make this the perfect gaming monitor. Fortnite looks and plays beautiful on it. If you can find this for around that price, you would be silly to not buy this.
My only complaint is that the monitor is so large that I may need a bigger desk since I run dual monitors and also the included power and displayport cables are a bit shorter than I would like.
Patrick –
It is one of the best monitors I had. Great price for such a high quality monitor. And it is G-Sync compatible! Highly recommend.
dzzwe –
It is a very good monitor.
It’s the best one I’ve ever used.
Lemma –
Quality is supreme. Color is pretty close to any IPS monitor. Try G-Sync.
dcpitt –
great monitor but they need to put it in the computer right
Klong –
First time owning a 144Hz and anything greater than 1080P. Highly recommend this monitor!
Xeno –
This monitor is one of the best of the best for its size and price point. It almost feels like too much screen at times, but it makes multitasking and gaming seamless.
Swimmingly –
The best priced 1440p 144hz TN monitor you can find.
KurtS –
This is the second one of these that I purchased for gaming. High refresh rate means no screen tearing or delayed screen updates coming from my Nvidia GTX 1070.
SteveO –
The monitor worked great right out of the box but had a couple of issues after a couple of weeks that came and went (hard to explain). After installing Windows updates and video card drivers it seems the issues have gone away but we’ll see as more of the year goes by.
GAMER –
I bought this for my roommate who was building his first rig. Looks fantastic. Out of the box the colors were way off. After about 10 minutes of adjusting the colors are now very accurate and true. This thing looks stunning as soon as you walk in the room.
2001 –
This is the best monitor and it is worth the money. If you decide to purchase this monitor, you won’t regret it. It’s a great for gaming. I am extremely happy with this purchase. I will definitely recommend it!
Stubbum –
Best looking monitor I’ve ever had, amazing for the price.
darko –
I probably had this monitor for about year now. I cant remember exactly but I made sure I had latest revision of monitor as early ones had some problems. Calibration was needed and easily found online. Colors responsivenes genaral usability beside gaming is not an issue, movies browsing youtube all fine here. I got 1080p 144hz panel 3months ago coz gtx1080 bit strugle on 1440p. and must say that im saving for rtx2080 just coz I dont want to be using 1080p. when I play non FPS games I always use my dell monitor. always. unless is some older shooter that gives me 140fps 1% low on 1440p.
point is this is something you should save for if you cherish your gaming sesions
James –
The monitor meets its performance specs (1440p 144hz), but the picture is pale and requires a great deal of tinkering to be adequate. Furthermore, within a month of purchase (beyond Best Buy return…l), I have 3 present bright pixel defects. Dell won’t repair until there are 6…so I guess I’ll wait…
Buy a better monitor for a better price

Amazing display. Worth every penny! recommend to anyone
