  1. GunnyD

I did all my research online and then went in to the store to order. They were kinda shaky at first telling me to go online to order it. I gently persisted and finally found someone that would try. I had them add the next day delivery for $15 and it all worked. Next day I had my new 8SE. It only comes with one eyepiece (25mm) so no 480x yet but we got to see the rings of saturn!!! The moon is stunning!! Unit comes with very good software. Get the GPS and power supply. Need tips to make it work, like finding point of balance and don’t put it together upside down, not kidding. Line up index marks, eyepiece should be on right, won’t track if opposite.

  2. JWood

Operating directions are not that great but once you get it, the telescope is fantastic.

  3. Mahlynn

We purchased this for the whole family and once you learn how to use it, it’s easy. Can clearly see what you are looking at.

  4. mst252

I received my telescope 7 days after ordering. I have found the mount to be stable the optics are of high quality. You definitely want to get an alternate power supply. I have the Celestron power tank. With the power tank I have easily gotten 6 hours of use each night for several nights before needing to re-charge. The views of deep space objects are incredible and exceeded my expectations. I have gotten truly inspiring views of Saturn, Jupiter and mars as well. I would definitely recommend this for anyone. The Goto computer is easy to use and is reasonably accurate once aligned.

  5. jjswan33

It is an ok telescope. Good value for the price. It can be a little shaky but this is typical single arm scopes. I wasn’t a fan of the finder scope. I ended up returning it, might be good for a beginner/intermediate astronomer but I wanted more scope.

  6. MetalF

This telescope is great to have and the price is reasonable. Extra eye pieces and storage bag needs to be bought on the side.

  7. MRobber

This is a holiday gift for my college-age daughter, who is taking and loving several astronomy courses. The scope and mount are terrific! However, learning the basics of sophisticated telescopes is daunting. Constantly aligning the scope, adding a GPS, WiFi Adapter, StarSense Alignment camera, auto-focuser, and power supply, and then identifying and installing PC software to update drivers and smartphone software, is a challenge. Not done yet! She has already loved closeups of the moon (including during the Super Wolf Blood Moon eclipse) and the truly amazing number of stars that suddenly become visible with the scope. Next step is planets, nebula, etc., once alignment and controls are perfected. She already appreciates more than ever the visual evidence of the vast number of stars and the size of the universe. Seeing is believing!

  8. MadDog

This product is well made, heavy and not for little kids without parents control.
Highly recommended and the price is competitive from Best Buy.

  9. dbb426

Not cheap – but not super expensive either…out of the box very usable and plenty of upgrades readily available.

  10. MrsSmets

Amazing telescope for the cost. We saw the rings of Saturn this summer and the moon looked close enough to touch. It does take some tweaking to get the settings right and you need to buy the add on kits with the eyepieces to do it right.

  11. GE69

Can’t really speak to the quality. The box it came in was trashed and being a delicate instrument, I didn’t want to fool with it so I never opened it… So for that reason I was very disappointed. Has nothing to do with the scope because I have no idea how well it would have worked!!!

  12. Megg

Overall the product is really great but the manual on how to put together is a bit difficult

  13. Ironclad76

Just amazing product. Looks like you can reach out and touch the moon lol recommend for anyone wanting to gaze out into the stars.
