Kvuo –
This printer works excellent. Fast and crisp. Love that it scans double sided in one pass.
Description needs to be updated as if states 2 cartridges are included Only one came with item
Beverly –
This machine connects quickly to computer. Print is clear. Pad on printer enables multiple tasks easily
Loyalty –
We bought this printer after reviewing several printers. This is really good one with good price.
Paul –
Good value with modern touch screen display. A nice feature of the old model (close-able top feed slot) is now fixed open on this newer model.
sbslg –
This printer is a one stop shop for your all in one equipment needs. Very good print quality and relatively easy to operate. Only complaint is that you have to open the rear door when printing a single voucher style check, otherwise it gets jammed.
Jane –
I highly recommend getting this printer! It is very fast and cuts down in time it takes to print several documents. It is also great for scanning and faxing. Toner can last for months depending on usage.
AmonnRa –
It does what it should so I have no issues with it.
Ljb007 –
This printer runs very well, sometimes a delay in printing and generally has a slow start but once it gets moving it really pumps out the pages. It lasts long with heavy printing.
PatsFan –
This printer was a terrific investment at a low cost. The optional high volume toners make it an even better deal. It prints fast and both print/copy are quality. I have really enjoyed using the two sided print and copy feature, more savings by reducing paper use. I haven’t had the opportunity to try the double sided scanning, but look forward to saving time on file and document management using that feature since much printing can now be done 2 sided. Lots of printing done in 1st month with no jams or problems. Some preprinted forms a couple of times had multiple forms pulled through at once. Otherwise, a perfect fit for our small office replacing an old printer and an old copier.
AVqt –
It prints pretty fast. Set up and installation I are quick.
spring42 –
Replaced some really old dell printers with these and my staff love them. The features are modern and integrate with windows 10 very well. My users are thrilled with the speed of scanning and printing.
LiLi –
WE love our new printer!! ITS AWESOME! AND IWOULD SO REC this printer!!
rdog1 –
We bought this printer to use in our office and it has been absoultely reliable and prints very fast for the price.

I have been a Brother printer user for years. While preparing my taxes, with no time to spare, the printer went from printing fine to not printing at all because it is being blocked by a message to “replace toner cartridge.” While I understand that I need a new toner cartridge, the printer was still printing clearly enough for me to complete my tasks for the moment. The idea that the printer stops functioning altogether and suddenly blocks all print jobs with the “replace toner cartridge” message, so that I have to run out and buy a toner cartridge (from Brother) is completely obnoxious. Some things are too obnoxious to deal with ever again. I’m done with Brother for good because of it.
Jeff –
It prints very fast and the scanner is high quality.
Charles –
smooth and quite performance. great machine for my small business.
useful –
the new product works great; very pleased w/performance and ease of use. i wonder why i waited so long to trade up as the improved features save me time.
best buy did a great job with helping load the oversized box in the suv and other basic store responsibilities with the online order.
Gene –
I purchased and still use an older model (MFC-L5850DW). The other model which is nearly identical to this MFC-L5900DW has be great to me the last couple years I used it with no issues. I purchased this one to replace an inkjet, multipurpose printer which did have issues at another home office. In fact, I have gone through several inkjet printers over the years with the issue of them eventually clogging up and becoming useless. Inkjet printers are a complete waste of money. I have always had great experience with Brother laser printers.
marek5290 –
Have always bought Brother printers so it was a no-brainer buying this brother printer. Overall very satisfied. Replaced my old MFC 8890.
mwus76 –
Easy to setup, integrated fax is a plus.
Works well in my small office.
sps05 –
Easy to install and easy to use. It has numerous functions and features and good quality print.
StrictScrutiny –
I’ve had many Brothers before and this one works very nicely. One month in a no flaws that I can see. Did not go for the highest end this time and this one does what it should. With 14” platen, scanning, copying and air printing work fine right out of the box. (I use Adobe for scanning so haven’t check out other methods yet.)
Vicky –
love the printer because of the volume I’m able to print with the -850 toner. We print a lot at our business and the printer is able to keep up.
David –
I use it for my office at home. Printing is not an issue but setting it up to scan is a quite complicated. Although connected to the same network and i can print no problem, the scanner doesn’t seem to recognize my computers. I had get an IT guy to help out and even with that, I still could not get advance functions like double sided scanning. A bit disappointed but for it’s price, it’s okay.
Wood –
Just what I wanted.. a fast and efficient all around printer.
Attaboy –
So far so good. The printer seems to work as advertised. Still trying to get it to recognize when to print on letter sized paper and legal sized paper when called for in the print job, It may require more technical support to get the unit to function as wanted.
Crispo –
Print along. No issues at all. Great printer for all around use
Teejaye1100 –
This printer has proven to be so good on all levels. The printer is speedy, the scanner works so well, loaded about 60 pages and it worked no problem. It connects to WiFi quickly and the touch display is bright, clear and responsive. I bought an additional paper tray so I can print letter and legal paper at the same time. It stacks up nicely with the printer. Overall, this printer is amazing. The only issue for me is the expensive toner which is about $105, but the toner it comes with will print at least 4,000 pages so I won’t need a new one for a while.

Bought this when our old Ricoh multifunction machine quit–it would scan and print on 11×17 ledger sized paper–so I was a little nervous moving from an office machine to a “home” machine.
The Brother MFC-L5900DW scans both sides at once and it’s fast. So far the feeder (paper handling is often a weak point) has worked well, even on older documents that I had to unstaple before scanning. Of course it does basic copying (single and double sided) with no problems and I’ve used the fax quite a bit with medical forms. Wireless printing worked first try, after installing the Brother software (on CD).
I’m considering getting another one for my satellite office–compared to replacing the Rocoh (~$5K) these are very reasonably priced. Even better would be if Brother would expand the line to include a ledger-sized machine…(hint, hint), sometimes I do have large paper to copy.

I bought this June 2020. After I received it I didn’t open it for about a month due to home remodeling. Easy setup. Printed pages had toner/ink spots all over the page. Cleaned the drum and toner cartridge according to Brother’s directions. Several times. One or two pages would print well after that but then the problem continued. Could not get through to Brother on the phone, holding for over an hour. Played phone tag for several weeks. They would not call when I told them I was available, but would call at other times when I was out of town and I had told them (by email) I wasn’t available. After several weeks I got in touch after holding on the phone for over 1 hour. They walked me through how to print a maintenance report. I emailed that to them and they said the only thing wrong with it was I needed to replace the toner cartridge. At that point I had printed less than 100 pages. They said the warranty was 3 months on the toner, and it had been 3 months and 2 weeks. The warranty period began not when I received it but when I ordered it, thus losing a couple of weeks when it was in transit. They refused to honor the warranty for the toner cartridge. Have not replaced the toner cartridge yet to see if indeed that is the problem. I’ll report back after I scrape together over a hundred bucks for toner.
OfficeOwner –
Brother is a very reliable workhorse and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.
Nelly –
Love my new printer. I especially love that it’s wireless and how quickly it prints. The scanning option has made my life so easy. The setup process was quick and simple.
BrotherBestBuy –
FOUR YEARS this printer has been in our lives and I couldn’t be more pleased with its performance. It is reliable, not fussy, and does what I ask it to do without any hitches. It is by far the best piece of equipment I have ever owned. Need to print on a smaller piece of paper? No problem. Scan to a USB? Sure. Print on heavy stock, easy! You know it must be good if I would bother to write this four years later. I am regularly praising it. Prints both sides with ease. Has never been jammed up. It’s the best!
Cameraguy –
Excellent copies for a small office or even a home office. Can make copies, scans, faxes. Easy to use. Separate toner and drum but cheaper in the long run to use than printers that use just ink cartridges.
GreenAcreswife –
We have 4 of these for our small business. Print quality is very good, and I don’t recall ever getting a paper jam. I like the paper saving print on two sides function, and envelopes don’t get crinkled the way they have in other printers I have used. Recently, we thought we’d have to replace one of our 5900’s, because we were getting some poor quality prints. I decided to repurpose it at our home office (where good quality printing isn’t critical), and after replacing the drum and toner quality was as good as new. Meanwhile, as I contemplated whether to get a newer model (this was introduced in 2016) model to replace it, I ended up just getting this one again – it’s just a good workhorse.
Jason –
Great machine for the price point. Very durable & takes about 70 pages in the feeder. Scans both sides of documents simultaneously. Far start up & print speed is sufficiently fast. Machine functions quietly & turns on off fast & easy.
TonyC –
Small footprint. Fast and great print quality. As with every new printer, the toner didn’t last long.
Avidok –
Excellent printer, durable, and long lasting. It has handled a fairly large paper print out turn over without any issues so far.
LeoLeo –
This is arguably the worst printer I’ve ever used. I’ve had this for over 2 years and I don’t think it has ever printed a clean page. There are always smudges across the page. Anything you print looks like it was printed on gray paper with black artifacts in the margins. This is actually my third unit from one purchase. I returned the first because of the poor print quality. The replacement was DOA. I just gave up and kept this third one. I am only able to use is to print personal documents. I would not dare print client documents or a resume with this printer. Any copies you make will have the same problem as printed ones. The only thing this machine does well is scan. If I need to print a resume, I go back to my (very) old Samsung printer. This was my first Brother printer. Sadly, I will never again buy another.
MetalMegadeth –
like Best Buy said its great for business companies if u like print black and white
Kenater –
This printer is extremely fast in printing. Quality is very good. I highly recommend it
TechJack –
Good economical B&W Laser Printer, purchased to replace a worn out MFC-L5850DW that lasted for many years and burned through tons of copy paper boxes. The MFC-L5900DW has Gigabit Ethernet, more memory and uses the same economical high yield toner cartridges.
user535797 –
Great printer for the price. Love the double sided scannig feature.
BossLadyCindy –
We’ve had several of these mfc all in one printers. They work great until they don’t.
MatthewE –
Work horse printer. Does a great job for small business workflow and will last you a solid 8-10 years.
RosaS –
It is fast and reliable! Nice quality product and prints fairly quick.
KaramH –
The product is good. Just every time we print we have to completely shut it off and restart it in order to print. Printing is backed up if we do not do this. Once restarted all the backed up prints will all come out.
Randal –
Great multifunction printer…fast and reliable printing, good scan quality
mk7623 –
We purchased this one because older one (MFCL5850DW) broke after two years. It’s working fine so far.
