We ended up returning this coffee maker. The coffee it makes tastes great and there are certainly many options in grind and strength settings to get you the perfect cup. Where this maker fails is in the carafe. It’s a thermal carafe that doesn’t really keep the coffee hot. The directions say to preheat the carafe prior to brewing. Using our instant hot water tap we preheated the carafe about 15-20 minutes prior to starting the machine and the first cup was hot. Anything after that and the temperature drops quickly. After a few days of use we decided it wasn’t worth the cost and effort to not have hot coffee.

Great coffee pot. This thing changes the entire coffee experience. Every pot is ground fresh and the coffee doesn’t set on a burner to stay warm. The pot is thermo insulated so it doesn’t burn and stays hot for hours

My husband’ loves it!! Best gift I ever bought him. Definitely worth the money. Easy to use & not as loud as some of the other coffee makers we’ve had in the past.
Breville –
Great appliance as this is my fourth grind and brew machine this is easily the best it looks good and the coffee is superb. After some minor delivery drama (delivered to wrong house) I am as happy as can be with this purchase.

The Breville coffee maker is ok. I bought this since I had bought the Breville espresso maker and loved it. The downside with this coffee maker is it doesn’t keep the carafe hot for that long. I’m not sure if the plate really heats up. It’s also very sensitive. Sometimes the filter door will open when the coffee isn’t completely done. I like the convenience of not having to make an entire pot but for the price it doesn’t perform that great. Coffee is good and you can set the strength which is also a plus. Save your money and wait for something better.

Very nice coffee maker the grinder is perfect, you can get light ,medium or strong coffee I like the idea that you only have to fill the water tank select the coffee level and that is it, worth the price

We would absolutely love this coffee maker except that it gets clogged. The coffee grinds correctly but then it fails to get the coffee into the basket properly. The shoot into the basket gets clogged regularly. It started to do this once per month then maybe once every two weeks, now it is every week without fail. After a lengthy conversation, Breville’s answer is that the problem is my fault. Because I don’t clean the matching by taking the entire grind assembly apart every day. That is their answer. Stay away from this pot is my advice.

Great coffee. Needs frequent cleaning pricey but worth it

Absolutely love this machine! It replaced my Keurig 2.0. Very easy to use. Love the feature of single use versus a 12 cup pot. The stainless steel carafe keeps coffee steaming hot for at least two hours. Worth every penny.
Breville –
Great looking and best integrated grinder/coffee maker we have ever owned. Makes consistently great coffee. Controls are easy to understand. Also quiet compared to other integrated coffee makers. Also like capability to make coffee directly into a Yeti or other single serve thermo container. Have many Breville appliances and have never been disappointed. This one performs as expected.

Loved it. One of the best coffee maker i have ever had.

I have wanted this coffee pot for years and finally purchased it. I was so excited when I unpacked it and perked my first pot of coffee with freshly ground beans. About halfway through the first pot it started steaming and sputtering like a locomotion then the front door popped open and a beeping sound started. When I checked the pot it had only brewed a little over half a pot. OK, not good out of the starting gate, but I tried again. I cleaned everything up, made sure the grinder was clean, did the trouble shooting from the instruction book and tried again. This time it worked fine with a scrumptus pot of coffee, hooray. It worked fine for the next couple of times then it did the same thing again. I tried decalcifing it like it said and it worked fine again for a few times then the same thing happend, the door would pop open and steam would go everywhere. Each time I would fill the resivour with 12 cups of water but only get 6 to 8 cups would brew in the pot. It was interesting that it never leaked and left water on the counter but it would steam so much that it would only brew a part of a pot. My husband and I tried everything to make this coffe pot work but I finally had to return it.
Note: Most of my family members own Brebille products and are very satisfied, I just got a lemon.

This is by far my favorite coffee maker. The coffee always tastes fresh. It grinds and brews to your specifications. Well worth the cost.
Chris –
Been using it since Aug 2019 and it always makes a grwat cup of coffee!
SteveG –
For the money I would have expected a better design. It’s nice to look at but has some shortcomings. The craft is difficult to clean. Unless you have hands the size of a 7 year old you’re gonna need a bottle brush or equivalent. The flip side is that it does keep the coffee hot for an extended period of time. Cleaning after every pot is a huge pain. It has way too many parts and things that need washing (see pic). The taste of the coffee required experimentation with grind setting and strength but it only took a few tries to dial it in. Overall impression is just average. A bit too complicated and too many parts to clean is my biggest complaint.
Great –
This is an amazing coffee pot. Fresh, great tasting cofffee with many options, can adjust strength and amount. Takes whole beans or ground coffee.
BoilermakerInOhio –
Good coffee maker, generally. A few things about it that could be better. 1) it is high, so you need to pull it out from under the counter to fill it with beans and water 2) on 12 oz setting, it overflows making a mess on the counter.
jjsoccus –
Not just the easiest to use coffee maker, but outstanding quality of the roast.
Adam –
Its a good concept, but coffee is never strong enough.
JimiH –
This is the worst coffee maker I have ever owned. To start off with the coffee filter compartment doesn’t stay closed when you start the machine, grinds everywhere. Second it never makes the same amount of coffee 2 times in a row. I have it set on 12 oz , This thing will be replaced as soon as I can afford a good machine.
Jeff –
First unit kept over flowing cups and wouldnt shut off. Exchanged for a sexond unit that stopped griding after a month. Total waste if time. Look elsewhere.
Phahas –
Watery coffee everytime. Beans dont automatically fall into grinder. Its a lot of work for the price, and bad quality
Brandon –
This coffee maker is not good at all. The grind setting is minimal and it doesn’t keep all grinds in the basket. Very poorly designed by Breville. I’ve purchased a number of their products and this is by far my least favorite.
LazaroB –
I adjust the machine for the most potent brew possible, and the coffee is still weak. The grinder jams frequently.
RCFJR –
So far it’s brewing great coffee. I really like the way you can dial in a good cup of joe. It’s not hard at all to figure out. I like that it can grind and brew up to 12 cups all the way to an 8oz cup.grind is not as loud as others I’ve owned.
DebS –
Couldn’t be happier with this new coffee maker. We get our whole coffee beans from a shop in Pittsburgh and I noticed the difference with this machine and how much better it tastes I love all the bells and whistles. Great purchase.
GregoryB –
Love the bean grinder. There is a little more work compared to traditional coffee pots, “ie like cleaning” but it’s definitely for it
abnav8r –
Makes great coffee!!! I recommend good quality coffee beans for the best results. Some review suggest it takes to much work to clean after each brewing, however, I find it takes me 2-3 minutes tops, and that is being VERY thorough! Very much worth it in my opinion.
Ddilonardo –
It works very well as expected. Grinds and brews with nice customization on grind size and brew strength. Rinse the basket and basket shoot holder after each use and dry. Not sure why others reported difficulty. Just follow the directions, makes a great cup every time with ease. Only negatives: 1. needs the carafe/cup preheated with hot water if you prefer your coffee on the hotter side, and 2. The carafe design leaves a little coffee in the pot. Otherwise, probably one of the best grind and brews available.
Sergus –
Amazing fresh brew coffee. Love how it grind down coffee bean
Gigi –
Coffee is weak regardless of adjustments made. Only way to get strong coffee is to override the grind feature.
Cleaning basket and shoot after each use is time consuming.
Kdew333 –
The Good: Nice burr grinder, nice display and options to make a single cup through a pot.
The Bad: everything else.
1. Coffee maker doesn’t fit under standard sizes cupboards. There is a protruding knob that makes it too tall.
2. Thermal Carafe opening is so small no reasonably sized hand can fit in it to clean. It also has a weird lip that makes it very hard to empty.
3. Pouring the coffee out of the carafe is very very slow. Like almost trickle slow.
4. Coffee in carafe immediately after brewing is warm, not hot. The instructions in the book say to preheat the carafe with warm water. Newsflash: anyone who wants to use the auto timer, so they don’t have to get up to make coffee in the morning cannot preheat the carafe. Is this defeats the purpose of the auto timer.
5. There is no heating element to keep the coffee hot. The thermal carafe is supposed to keep it hot. Refer to point #4.
6. The brew basket leaks drops across your floor when you remove it to empty and clean it. Every time. It also has a weird chute piece that holds debris so you have to make sure you don’t miss it when cleaning it.
I love Breville typically, but they really have done a poor job with this coffee maker. A redesign is needed. I returned mine and I’m going back to the Cuisinart burr Grinder and coffee maker.
DeannaM –
We are so enjoying this combination of a coffee bean grinder and brewer! It produces great coffee in a full size carafe!
DarrenC –
Great tasting coffee. Easy to use.
Not so easy to clean. And as far as I know, no way to customize the amount of grinds produced per preset water setting.
Vest –
The carafe doesn’t keep the coffee hot. Needs to find away
Orls –
We love this coffee maker, a little bit too big but the functions are worth it.
John –
Worth every penny spent on it. Solid measurments from the selection of the grinder and the taste scale allows you to choose how mild to strong you want your coffee.
LarrytheJedi –
Not as user friendly or is easy as the other reviews make it sound. unfortunately we’re pretty disappointed in it and now we found out we are unable to return it which really sucks. Thought we had 30 days to return it and wanted to give it the best chance that we might like it now I have a $350 item I don’t want
CusoMan –
It’s pricey for a coffee pot but so worth it if you enjoy drinking coffee for more than just the caffeine. Takes the guess work out of brewing and consistently delivers a great cup of coffee. I also love the option to brew a quick cup without having to make an entire pot.
HugoP –
Works great and is perfect for grinding coffee. Makes it taste fresh!
Unknown –
Had one of these from maybe 2018 and it broke. So got another one — nothing else is as good.
jeffthegreat1 –
Bought this coffee maker about 6 months ago and I have been very happy with the purchase.
Makes a great cup of coffee, is easy to use, cleaning is easy, and is very convenient. The single serve cup is my go to method for a quick and delicious cup of coffee for my morning drive.
EricH –
It is great very easy to use . Doesn’t take up to much space
CoffeeDude –
Absolute garbage. Excessively needy of pampering and attention and only after a few years of minimal use, the calibration no longer works. You would expect a bit better product at this price point. It’s a sad day when a Hamilton Beach out performs this “premium” maker. Do yourself a favor and get a nice burr grinder and a good drip maker and leave this one for the uninformed sheep.
SolarM –
Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Works great!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PTBro –
This thing is crap that makes crap coffee. I feel like if they just gave this to a couple people to try for a little bit that they would figure out that it’s junk. The only reason breville can sell this is because there are so many Breville groupies that’ll buy anything Breville. I guess I was one of those but I hate using it. The coffee pot is junk you have to pour it upside down with the lid on and it still makes a mess. The reservoir holds more than the coffee pot so you’ll make 2 trips to the sink if you want 12 cups of coffee. Plus the coffee it produces isn’t very good. Hate it. Dave yourself the hassle of returning it because it takes up less space and just get the other breville coffee maker.
RobertR –
Great product and brews desired coffee and fast delivery
LatriciaB –
Unfortunately, I had to return it because it malfunctioned but Best Buy customer service was helpful.
ClaudeC –
Great coffee grinder maker. Good quality l, fancy perfect
Dave –
Grinder is weak point of the system. The grind delivery portion broke causing clogs & the grinder jammed frequently requiring clean out. Returned the coffee maker for a refund.
