You know you are old when a new small appliance excites you but after 6 months of our old toaster hit or miss toasting it was time. The last 2 toasters were $40 ones and they both lasted 2/3 years each. So broke down and invested in this in hopes I can get at least 7/10 years. Wide enough and long enough to hold anything you throw at it. Bagels, Sourdough, waffles etc it gives them a beautiful brown brown crisp (after a little playing with the setting). The,,”just a little more” button is great. Now all we can do is how it lasts.

A simple toaster that toasts! Neither glamorous nor exciting….. it does the job. No removable tray at the bottom to clean up the crumbs. Makes it cumbersome to clean.

This toaster is way over priced and didn’t last any longer than any other toaster. Guarantee is only for 12 months. Our mechanism to hold the toast down started malfunctioning just after the one year mark.

Easy to use, saves counter space by being long against the back of my counter instead of sticking out. Only complaint is that not all the heating elements turn on. Will notice that some don’t turn on at all. But still makes great toast

If I could give this toaster a minus star rating, I would. This is hands down the worst toaster I’ve ever experienced and also the most expensive. It barely toasts one side of the bread on the highest setting, then needs the bread flipped and go another half cycle. Results? Slightly toasted bread. Even with contact from Breville customer support and following their advice, it still doesn’t work even close to the cheapest toaster I’ve ever owned. Don’t make the same mistake as me and purchase it. Hoping Breville stands behind their warranty.

2nd expensive Breville product that bit the dust. Kettle 1st lid hinge broke after 1 year use, now toaster after 3 years quit. Expensive, cheaply made products – Breville will want to take this off line and then when one does you never get a follow up. Stay away. I purchased both items because I was tired of inexpensive items packing up in short order. These were no better.

Love this toaster, the long slots allow for larger slices of bread. The “little bit more” button adds the perfect amount of time when you need it. Very attractive looking too.

1. Uneven toasting. One side of the bread toasts more than the other. Yes, they have a bagel mode that does that. No, I do not have that turned on.
2. It only pops the toast if I am using both slots, otherwise I need to turn the toaster off and shake it upside down to get the toast out.
I really wanted to like this toaster. For almost $100, I would have thought it would have done its single task in life quite nicely. But it failed.
I apologize to anyone that buys this as an open box return. I’ll try to get the crumbs out.

This is a great toaster. It solves problems I had with my old Krups: It toasts consistently. The bagel function toasts one side but still warms the other (great for refrigerated bagels). The “A bit more” function is great for not burning something that just needed, you know, “a bit more” toasting.
The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is that, while it will accommodate wide bread, there is a dead spot in the center of the toasting area. So a wide slice of bread will either be under-toasted on one edge (if you place it to one side) or in the middle (if you center it). It’s a disappointing design flaw.

Excellent toaster, for only a year. Worked flawlessly, then at exactly 1 year to the day… won’t toast on one side of bread..have to do the toast flip routine. Read reviews on big online..same issue. Consumer Reports you lied! Very nice function and sturdy but what is point if it doesn’t do what you bought it to do….TOAST. So this is now Toast.
This was used only occasionally for Sunday breakfasts, Two slices,,, or maybe a bagel. Sad.

Bought this because of Cooks Illustrated review. Worked adequately for 18 months and then just stopped toasting proper. Would toast one side and bottom of a slice of bread. Cooks Illustrated has even downgraded review due to a lot of customer complaints concerning reliability. This is the third Breve product I’ve bought in the last few years that died an early death. They provide premium pricing but under perform as a product. I’m done buying any Breville product.

I originally had a Belle because I didn’t want to spend a lot on a toaster. However, it didn’t make the toast how I liked it. I ended up not using it as much and selling it. My husband convinced me to get toaster. I love the “a bit more” setting. I have made bagels and toast in the Breville. I love it. It also looks nice in my counter top. I am not a fan of the counter top accessories. However, I use this so often. It only makes sense to give it a permanent home on the counter. I’ve had this item a little over a month and use it almost daily. I highly recommend this product.

I wanted a toaster that would handle larger bread slices. This toaster does….somewhat. If you have longer sourdough it still won’t allow for 4 slices to fit perfectly. There is some overlap. The toast burners are set up in a pattern to toast 4 slices so there is a small gap in the mid section that doesn’t toast. But overall, I’ve been able to make it work. The “a bit more” feature and “toast from frozen” work great too! Plus, it looks cool.

Digital bars started working whacky. Then the inconsistent toasting started. It was great when we first got it, but for the price point it surely should have lasted longer than 2.5 years. Sadly but thankfully , I have a toaster that was a quarter the price and over 20 years old in the “bull pen” that is still working . Pulled out of retirement, looks like s!?t but it does its job, still. Thats embarrasing Breville , really….
