I’m only using it with a 4.5″ mirror monitor, but the picture quality looks good day or night.
It comes with a longer video cable than many other rear cameras; you shouldn’t have any problem running it all the way to the front even on a 4-door, long bed pickup truck or cargo van.
Unlike some rear cameras, the built-in LEDs don’t produce a visible light so you can power the camera all the time without annoying drivers behind you.
My only issue was that even with the mounting screw tightened as far as possible, the camera still can be pivoted up and down more easily than I’d like. I think it needs a small lock washer to tighten things up. It hasn’t caused a problem yet, though.

I found this camera in deal around $30. Worth for the price I paid. The camera works fine but when I compare with my another car this camera is not that great.

Installation was a bit over my ability, only because of the rear-lift door on my 2007 Vibe. Turned the project over to Geek Squad and all was resolved in a one and a half hour appointment. The stereo and back-up camera made my relatively “old” car feel a bit more current.

Overall very happy with this camera. Built in IR lights make it surprisingly easy to see at night time. It integrated with my radio system well too. After installation is finished, the only portion of the camera that you see is the lens and IR lights, the rest of the mounting assembly is hidden behind the license plate. It gives it a near-original-factory accessory like look.
Only downside that I’ve experienced is that during the winter time, it rather quickly gets covered in road grime and salt. My other vehicle has a backup camera from the factory that auto-cleans itself using the windshield washer fluid. But without a LOT of headache, you’re not going to find that in an after market camera. So not really a fault of the camera.
Overall, very pleased, and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a backup camera!

Great for the price. I have it on the back of my pickup. I have a work topper with full doors so it gets bumped out of alignment sometimes but that is user error. It has jumpers for the connections on the radio side which made for an easier install. Only connection needed at the rear of vehicle is the ground.

Camera is adjustable up and down, which is great and makes big difference on image, but nut came off after I installed it. Unknown it came off until I found it on garage floor and was able to put it back.

This backup camera does pretty well outside of the fact that the lines just don’t work well with the 3rd party radio. Fortunately, Sony has a feature where you can use its lines for backing up instead. It does the job but would have loved to use the factory lines built into the camera.

The camera is pretty good except for the nighttime.it’s nice and clear, but, I have a Scion xB and it only has one backup light so it’s still dark. I’m sure it’s better in cars with two backup lights. Other than that, it’s a nice cam.
