Being a AA game, it’s not going to be the most polished, and it certainly isn’t, but the game has charm. It’s a fun action adventure title, but it does get a bit repetitive as after a while, you’ll be basically playing the same sorta of missions over and over again.

The story of this game is in the future when humans have left the Earth after polluting it and the wild life has mutated. You are a mutated racoon that goes on a mission to save the world. It has an open world to explore, collect loot, level up your character, and a big story. This one is very fun to play!

In Biomutant you’ll fight your way through an apocalyptic version of an Earth-like planet. You’ll blend sword, mech and gunplay to fight through this open world, forming alliances and saving the Tree of Life. To do so you’ll unite the tribes, craft armour and enhance your skills, while looting your way through forgotten apartments and highways. You’ll face off against a good variety of enemies, from the small every-day griblies to the larger-than-life world eaters. You’ll learn new “wung-fu” moves along your travels, blending sword and gun attacks with martial-arts-like fluid combat. Visuals – Outstanding: I’ve been playing here on the Playstation 4 and biomutant is looking absolutely stellar. On top of some great visuals both in and out of cut scenes, there’s also a nice photo mode with some simple settings which can help you get some great shots.
Audio – Outstanding: The narrator really helps to bring out the humorous side of Biomutant, and in addition to this there are some great sound cues and effects. In addition, the soundtrack itself has also been really well executed and I’ve not found any audio to mark down here.
Narrative – Outstanding: Biomutant has a great little story, which weaves its way through your gameplay in a few ways. It’s nice to have the option to vary up the dialogue slightly using your own choices and it’s clear that a lot of thought has been put into the narrative to keep it engaging and entertaining.
Biomutant was so entertaining to me that I got a copy for my Xbox collection as well! This is definitely a ”must have” game for any collector, you won’t be sorry you got this game, trust me!

Game was fun enough, but just a little janky and basic feeling in a lot of ways (the combat). Has a nice big open world to explore and collect stuff in, though. Also, there is now a PS5 native version to unlock free with your PS4 disk.

The reviews for this game are a bit harsh. The graphics are decent and the overall concept is a lot of fun but there’s just something missing. In combat the hits don’t feel impactful, the missions feel a bit same-y, and some of the open world aspect could be better done. Still, I enjoyed my time with Biomutant, but once I switched to something else I’ve never considered coming back. It feels like the game is a few tweaks from being great and I hope patches allow this game to be a hidden gem over time.

Long story short, I purchased this game when it was on sale. Had it delivered to my home. Sadly, someone stole my game out of the package that was on my front porch. So I called Best Buy and told them all that had happened, and amazingly, Best Buy took action and resolved my situation! Best Buy sent out the game to me the second time, free of charge! The game is very fun and colorful! The story line is pretty good, not the best but good. Gameplay as far as controller mechanics is great. If they came out with a sequel to this game I’d buy it! Also,thank you Best Buy for taking care of me and re-shipping this game out to me after someone stole it from me the first time.
