KeninSF –
I ended up with this bertazzoni hood because my 20 year old zephyr died and this was one of the few available during this appliance shortage. Big mistake. Among the things to hate—the lights. First, they are the ugliest cold tone leds available. They have the warmth and charm of dental lighting. They are also useless as they are on the back of the unit, so great for illuminating your backsplash. Just not, you know, the food you are cooking. And no there are no replacement options. Best you can do is to tape a photographers gel over the lights to make them a little warmer. Then there is the switch panel which will remind you every time you press a bottom how cheap they are. The switch unit feels loose and the buttons feel somehow crooked. The chimney is in two parts (that’s pretty common) but they feel flimsy in how they nest together and how they attach to the wall. Sure you don’t touch this often but it still needs to be cleaned and for those of us who clean our own kitchen will not be impressed at the quality. Then there is the stainless they use. Pretty thin. And if you have stainless you know how it can be hard to keep it free from streaks. Well they’ve place a nice logo decal on chimney and now the metal around it discolored. So if you are flipping a property someone might be impressed. If this is for your space, don’t. As for the fan. It’s ok. On low doesn’t do much. On high it’s very loud. Will replace as soon as I can
