I purchased this so that I could have a designated gaming laptop. Since my MacBook could not handle the games I wanted to play. I have played games through Steam, EA and Xbox, they all work great! Battery holds fairly well too

Shuts off randomly, always says there’s an issue and it needs to restart, I have updated and it still shuts down on its own, freezes randomly as well… Will be bringing it back!

This laptop is by far a great peice of machine. I was not running any issues when it came to emulation in 4k resolution and some current gen games in 2k. It was definitely easy to upgrade the ram and storage overall sleek design and awesome budget gaming laptop.

Only complaint is the battery. It was good at first, but deteriorated. Kids have to keep it plugged in pretty much all the time.

Excellent laptop for gaming. Battery life is decent when gaming, excellent with normal activities. The customization with the fans is quick and easy to help with balancing noise/performance. Easy to upgrade too, I threw in 32gb set of ram and an additional NVME drive a few months later when I caught both on sale and in total took 15min.

This laptop is perfect for what I do. I mainly use this Asus laptop for automotive work and for gaming. I ended up upgrading the ram and hard drive on it due but it is a solid built laptop. Dont hesitate on purchasing this laptop for gaming and other needs!

Overall I like the laptop, but there’s a known issue with the power button going out. Now if I’m lucky I can get it to startup on a couple button presses, but if I’m unlucky I need to try to get it to start and it has taken me over 45 minutes to get it to turn on. In order to replace the power button it will require swapping out the whole palmrest because the keyboard is not removable. I had purchased this as open box, and since the issue started happening a few months after purchase it’s not covered under warranty.

This laptop is one of the best bangs for the buck! It handles most tasks very well, although you will want to upgrade it to 16GB to take full advantage of its dual channel memory capabilities. I have bought several of these for my children and wife so we could game together and it has been a blast!
Now for the con:
ASUS laptops have an issue with some of their SuperIO chips failing, which results in the laptop failing to power on when the power button is pressed (dead mainboard). This chip has to be programmed and is not easily replaceable, even by a component level repair shop. This was the case with my youngest’s laptop. The other machines are all running strong.

Good entry level gaming laptop. Only downside is the fans are weak or poor quility. We replaced them after a year and they are needing replacing again as they are loud even after routine maintanance. I am an ASSUS fan and have purchased 4 other laptops for the family and myself. So far this is the only machine with the fan issue.
Still plays newer games although at lower settings.
