    Excellent external optical drive. The open/eject button is placed a little weird and is tricky to press just right, but the drive itself is great. Can burn a backup disk or watch movies with no lag. Great price.

    Ok unit, wish it was USB C though. Uses two micro USB cables and a type A. Quality of plastic is cheap, but fine.

    Good for what it does. The door tends to stick on anything around the opening which is why the downgrade. I found putting the player on something a bit smaller than it will remove the problem. Reads my cd’s and DVD’s without any problems. Whether those were commercial products or ones that I recorded. This is not the bluray version.
    The read speed is fast, and the player reads smudged or slightly dirty disks well. I had one disk with a deeper scratch that gave it problems, but other than that one time, it read anything I put into it.

    I love the diamond pattern on this and it runs quietly and opens easily. I had to return a different brand that I initially purchased because I couldn’t get it open and it was very noisy while running, but this one is fabulous. It’s worth every penny that I paid for it. Definitely recommend it.

    Using for as external DVD to play music from our old CD’s. Unfortunately computers do not have CD slots any longer. This is very handy to use to play old CD’s. ASUS brand prooved its quality again.

    This was desperately needed to play an older dvd-rom of very nostalgic film footage. I could not find any current product I had including blu-ray that could play the content. This played seamlessly and perfectly to my laptop! Perfect.
